User Image Shiri smiled as Jini spoke. He did, indeed, appear to have a fondness for his home and the young lioness hoped that one day she might find that sort of longing for her own home. Once she had finally found a place to be called her home.

With Jini's question, Shiri found herself somewhat startled back into reality. Throughout their conversation, Shiri had not once thought of leaving. Not from Jini's company, nor the territory they were currently in. With a light smile, she thought over his question. Always, after every meeting, Shiri would find herself wandering off, finding a place to call her own for the night. Never would she sleep in the same area twice, but for whatever reason she was not quite sure. Perhaps it was fear that kept her from worrying what might happen when she found a place to stay. What would happen if she ever allowed herself to become truly happy and then suddenly her happiness was taken from her?

With watery eyes now, Shiri turned her head from the male. She was absolutely certain the male meant no harm by his words and she did not wish for him to see her cry. Emotions were signs of weakness and clearly the hardening of abandonment had not drained the emotion from her. Speaking quietly to mask her sudden sadness, Shiri finally spoke, "I don't ever want to leave to be honest... I-I just find myself so scared...." Despite her efforts to hide her feelings, her voice clearly shook.

Jini looked utterly baffled, though concern showed through on his face. He could sense her fear, her sadness, but he had no way to know what made her feel that way. It made him feel awful, as if he should know more, or like he had missed something. "Afraid of what...?" He asked softly, the slight worry in his eyes asking gently that she tell him so he could understand...so he could help if he could. He just wanted others to be happy and if they weren't he wanted to assist, even if he didn't believe himself a very capable person.

User Image Shiri felt her cheeks flush deep red as the male looked at her in the most confused manner she had ever seen. Turning her head quickly from him, the lioness tried to hide her tears. She was acting foolish, like a young female displaying too much emotion. With a deep sigh, she shut her eyes and allowed the breeze to sweep over her. It was soothing, but not enough to calm her completely.

Calmed enough to speak again, Shiri took a step that she had never taken before; she spoke the absolute truth about her feelings. "...I'm afraid of being left alone.." Despite her vagueness to where these feelings stemmed from, the mere mentioning of the situation helped her somewhat. The pained memory of being brought up alone with no family had certainly scarred the lioness.

Jini blinked sadly, his eyes pools of empathy. "A-ah, miss Shiri...you wouldn't be left alone, not here," he turned his head, to look out at the landscape. So many people lived here, and while you could never know everyone it was practically impossible to not have any friends, anyone to be with and share company with. "I'm sure there are many people here that would be your companion...and...I'm here. I'm your friend," he offered a fient, reassuring smile, "You wouldn't be alone."

User Image Shiri smiled, hearing the comforting words Jini had to offer. Joining the pridelands seemed like the best thing that Shiri could do with herself. Although the freedom of being a rogue was nice at times, it was also an incredibly lonely life. One that Shiri would be glad to leave behind.

Glancing back towards the pridelands, the same comforting words from an old friend were echoed in Shiri's mind. One of the first lions she had met was a pridelander and had offered similar words in an attempt to get the young lioness to choose the pridelands as her own. Determined now, though still somewhat hesitant, Shiri smiled and returned her gaze to Jini, "I will join the pridelands.. someday. But for right now.. It makes a pleasant view.."
