Waltrip As Darth Awesome said, 1 v 1's don't prove alot. It's host and control, that's it.
4 v 4 is entirely different. I think it means alot, control is a big part of Halo 2 if you can control the map better off-host your a better player.

That still doesn't answer my question: So what if you can beat someone? It's a video game, not something serious. And yes I know about the MLG tournaments where people are supposed to play competitively, but that shouldn't be in matchmaking on xbox live. I play to have fun, and whenever some idiot starts bragging about how much better they are and teabagging me and my teammates, that takes away all the fun.

I agree with both kalec and darth awesome, in different aspects, so I will try to create a compromise
Yes, people are payed to play competitively, BUT, that does not make it competitive with everyone else on XBL. It is played for fun, and people have a right to some kind of bragging, everbody does it, but it does get annoying to a certain extreme. I also believe that 1v1 is the best way to compare talent. Because anything with anymore people can vary the results. It could be a little more equal if the host aspect isn't applied.
If somebody sais they are better than you, you have a right to challenge them to a 1v1 match, to prove them wrong. But don't be the one saying you're better than everybody else, even if you ARE.
There. any more questions?

K a l e c [Darth Awesome] Honestly, what's the point in going head to head? I mean, congratulations, you can beat someone at a video game. So what? Last time I checked, video games were for entertainment, not competition and a place to boast about your self-pride. Last time i checked a Halo 2 team called Final Boss got signed to a 1 million dollar contract to to play Halo 2 competitively. Your point? That's still not answering my question of why people on XBOX LIVE, not in tournaments, are exercising their 'oh so great skill' to others who don't give a damn by bragging and degrading others.

But ill take a shot at it. Halo 2 is a competitive game, i mean, com'on you run around shooting eachother its going to come out. And if you don't give a damn then why do you care.

Like Squee, I agree with Kalec and Darth Awesome on different aspects.
Kalec, I agree that Halo 2 is a competitve game, and that's what MLG does, it attracts the competitve fan-base. Matchmaking does as well, but on a lower aspect for casual gamers. Sure, FB gets a contract, but I doubt that most of the XBL community has the amount of time to put into a videogame. Only around 10% of the Halo 2 players actually particpate in actual MLG tournies. We'd all be that good if we played as much as them. But, we have more important things to do. It's not like they'll make a living off of Halo 2 their whole lives, right?
Darth, I also agree with you that people out there are jerks. It is a competitve game, after all, and some people put their lives into this game. It's alright. Ignore them, that's all you have to do, or mute em. This is also what the guild is for, to meet cool and friendly people to play Halo 2 with, not jerks.
So why can't we all hold hands and sing X-mas carols, everyone?

Halo was created for computers as entertainment, then came the xbox where it was created for that also. Then came Halo 2 and the ability to play online. It's all for fun, it's not about winning. It's just like sports. And I never said I didn't care period, I just don't give a damn about who thinks they're better than others; I'd like to play a nice, nonranked game without someone shouting,"Owned b***h! Get on the floor!" Anyone who has to brag about being better at a video game has no life and really needs to get over themself.

Considering your highest level is a... 22 in Double Team there are alot of other people better than you. What do you use, noobie weapons? I'm a 28 in Team Slayer, you really shouldn't brag about your 22, I know girls better than you.
