Ignoring his sister for the moment, Shin coiled back on his haunches, scooting a bit on the earthen floor as if it would help his momentum, tail flicking about.

"What does it look like I'm doing, I'm climbing the tree."

He spoke as if it should have been obvious, as if she shouldn't have had to ask. Why was she bothering him anyways, couldn't she see he was busy? Having paused in his endeavor longer than he'd wanted to, not that he wanted to at all, the little cub suddenly sprang upward, bouncing on his hind legs like a fluffy tailed kangaroo, paws extended to his furthest reach in an attempt to seize the ledge.

But it was too high and it elluded his grasp, though he thought he felt his talons connect to the ledge's surface. Grumbling, he sat back on his haunches, eyeing the ledge and wondering how he could jump just a little bit further.

"If it's so early why don't you go back to sleep."

"Because I want to."

When he finally turned to face his sister it was only to stick his tounge out at her. Stupid girl, she wouldn't understand, not like he was going to tell her why anyways.

Turning his attention back to the ledge, he watched it for a few moments, maybe if he got a running start he could jump higher. Orange eyes fixed on the ledge, he backed up a few paces at a time, crouching every few steps, his tail flicking back and forth over his hind end as if coiling the spring in his legs.

This time he was going to get it for sure, he knew it. His hind legs coiled, body crouched, trying to get all the power and speed he could. Then he charged, running forward as fast as his akward little paws could move. As he reached the ledge he prepared to jump, paws outstretched, he just had to catch the ledge this time.

He was sure he was going to catch that ledge this time, he was going to climb the tree and reach the top, and throw things at his sister from up there. Hah! That would be fun.

But alas he was thwarted in his attempt, his paws stumbling over his sister's sending him rolling across the floor, landing against the wall in a cloud of dust. For a moment he was confused, uncertain of why he had fallen, why he had missed his target. Catching the fleeing form of his sister, he suddenly knew what had happened, she had tripped him.

Growling he charged after her, scrambling over his mother and then his father in an attempt to catch her before she escaped.

"You stupid girl, what'd you do that for?!"

"No you're stupid!"

A tiny growl and he dove after here, paws reaching, trying to pry her from under their father's paws. Stupid girl, he'd been so close to climbing the tree and she'd had to go and ruin it.

"Oh just you wait until I get my paws on you!"

He was gonna get her yet for that, even if he had to dig under the larger lion to do so. But he couldn't seem to reach her, and in his frustration he finally called out.

"Daddy!! She tripped me and now she's hidding like a stupid girl!"











He had been sleeping so peacefully, lost in pleasant dreams curled up against his mate with their two young cubs. But alas it was not to last as the p***k of tiny paws and the sound of young voices invaded his sleep and the young father begin to stir.

For a moment he tried to ignore them, hoping their mother would wake up and deal with them, or that they would tire of the game and go back to sleep themselves. But it was not to be, and as a sharp cry pierced his ears, followed shortly by another, the lion was suddenly jolted from what sleep still held him, his head rising from where it had rested on his paws with a start.

"What are you two fighting about so early?"

He had barely gotten the words out before a wide yawn parted his maw, forelegs stretching to their fullest extent, tail curling over his back. Sleepily he eyed his children, waiting for a response.

Good, daddy was awake, surely he'd take Shin's side and see that Kani was being a stupid girl and it was all her fault. But he wasn't taking any chances, he had to make sure dad saw it his way.

"I was not making noises! I was trying to climb the tree, and if I was being so loud than how come mom and dad didn't wake up, huh? Daaaad, she tripped me so I missed the ledge and I wanted to climb the tree!"

Orange eyes narrowed into a glare at his sister, oh he was angry at her for stopping him fro climbing the tree. Snorting, he stuck his tounge out at her, why did his dumb sister have to be a girl?

"And just so you know it was -you- that woke Daddy up, so there."











The lion sighed, shaking his head to himself. Why did his children have to fight so much and so early in the morning? If he could have he'd have sent them to seperate rooms, but unfortunately the den was one big room.

"Shin, can't you climb the tree later when everyone is awake? Kani, next time ask your brother nicely rather than tripping him, you could hurt him that way."

In reality, he wasn't worried about Shin waking anyone up with his attempts to climb the tree, he was more worried about being awakened by a falling cub who had missed a jump to a higher ledge. That and he'd rather not have any more fights. Argg...it was too early for this.

Ha! He had won, he was right and she was wrong. She had been scolded for tripping him, and since the three of them were awake (a majority was as good as everyone, right?) he was allowed to climb the tree. He felt like struting and rubbing it in her face, but he settled for sticking his tounge out at her victoriously.

"Nya!"

But he caught the look from his father, the look that told him to be nice and he wasn't allowed to be mean to his sister just because she'd tripped him. His ears dropped and he hmphed under his breath as if to say 'fine!' He'd accept her apology and leave her alone, so long as she didn't trip him again, he wanted to climb that tree.

As his sister's words met dark ears, Shin was suddenly aware of the rumble in his own stomach. He turned to look at his father as if to say that he was hungry too. But he didn't want to say it out loud, then his sister could accuse him of copying her and that just wouldn't be cool.









Juhudi smiled at his daughter, patting her head lightly with one large paw, a faint purr telling that he was proud of her for apologizing to her brother. It took a sharp glare to bring his son in line, but the incident was settled and now maybe he could go back to sleep.

No such luck. His eyes widened, one brow raised at his daughter's words. She wanted him to do -what-? Waking up Mosi was not something he wanted to do, but his children were hungry and they were looking at him with those cute eyes.

He signed, there was no helping it, he'd have to wake his mate. Maybe she wouldn't be grouchy at him for waking her up...or maybe she would be. Sigh, he hoped this wasn't the start of a bad day.
