Wolf Nightshade
Gichin Funakoshi from what I read first came to Japan in 1917 one place I read said 1916 but most say 17. The Chinese have Sai's like in Okinawa in China they are called Gen. I have heard that this weapon can even be found in India.
Dammit! I was about to mention Gichin Funakoshi! I believed that before it was in Japan it was Chinese, hence the name Tang Hand, when G.F brought it to Japan it was changed to Empty Hand because the Japanese were not quick to accept this new martial-art. Also, that Okinawa was not part of Japan until later so the switch made it a Japanese art instead, I agree with Wolf.
