Byakko chuckled. "Some anthros here cannot watch after themselves." His eyes stared over at her. "Now I do hope you are speaking of me, because if not, I would love to meet the man you are speaking of to make sure he is a good guy." He then looked over at her curiously. "Have they made living here easier for you with their visits?"

"Of course I'm talking about you, Byakko...No other man has caught my eye and trust like you have," Raelen replied softly before glancing away from the fire and back to him. "Yes, they have. A few times, when I've been scared to be alone, they would both come over. Jeannot would fall asleep on the couch, but Drake would stay awake all night to ensure our safety." Smiling lightly, she reached out and lightly placed her hand on his armor-gloved hand. "I still prefer your company over any, though."

Byakko smiled to her and leaned over to kiss her forehead. "Well that is good because I would have to speak with anyone else who might get your attention. But I still say I need to get you a puppy. A nice guard dog who is so nice to you." He could feel his stomach growing more interested in food. "Well I have to ask, what is in store for dinner this evening? The suspense is killing me." He smiled to her.

Raelen's nose scrunched up and wiggled when he leaned in and kissed her on the forehead. Smiling, she shook her head lightly. "Byakko, you really don't have to spend your money on getting me a guard dog," She said lightly, shaking her head softly. "I actually wasn't sure what you would like, and I know it's simple, so if you don't like it, I can make something else...but I made smoked salmon," The feline admitted, glancing down towards her hands.

"Yum, sounds delicious!" Byakko smiled, reaching out and placing a hand on hers. "I trust that this will be a fantastic dinner." He then looked up at the ceiling as if he was lost in a thought for a moment. "If you could pick your favorite food what would it be?" HIs eyes drifted over to her, those light blue eyes staring as though he had many questions but only leaked out a little at a time.

Raelen blinked and thought for a few moments, closing her eyes as she enjoyed the moments with his hand on her own. "Hm...My favorite food.." Smiling, she opened her eyes and set them upon him, ears twitching and her tail giving a light flick. "For a less than specific answer, fish...What about you, Byakko?" She asked lightly and gently pulled her hand away, standing, and turning towards the kitchen as a timer went off.

"Well I have quite a sweet tooth but I have a funny feeling that its about to change to Smoked Salmon." He smiled and Byakko watched her move to the kitchen. He rose and moved after her, standing at the entrance to the kitchen but not daring to step foot into the place until he knew she was willing to have him there.
"Need any help?" was his offer and almost his question, asking if he may dare to enter. He learned from Leena that should someone go into a kitchen where women are cooking, they can be very hostile. The hawk elder doubted that Raelen was like that but it never hurt to be on the cautious side of life, did it?

(Sorry for the long delay, Leena. gonk )
"Now, now...A sweet tooth shouldn't change just because of a little smoked salmon," Raelen teased playfully as she moved gracefully about the kitchen, gathering all the things necessary for them to have a nice, quiet dinner out on the porch.
Looking towards him, she offered a sweet smile. It was true that most women could be hostile in the kitchen, and Raelen could be just that way from time to time, but that usually depended on her mood...which at the moment, was very tender and gentle. "If you wouldn't mind...I'll only need help carrying the food out."

Byakko chuckled and smiled, now entering and taking from her all that was in her arms into his own. "Surely I can help more then that. Where would you like for me to set these things?"
He wanted more then anything else to be useful to Raelen, even if it was just labor. The more time he spent with her the more she took his heart by storm. The fact that she even let him into the kitchen with her was a big surprise.

The feline blinked as he took what was in her arms, but simply smiled sweetly and tenderly. Gathering what was left, she nodded her head lightly. "I suppose you can be as helpful as you like."
Pausing for a moment, she shifted what was in her arms and began to walk out of the kitchen. "The porch is this way," She said quietly while leading the way to the sliding glass door that was already open. Stepping outside, she set the things down and quickly prepared the table for the things he was carrying.

Byakko followed after the feline quickly. When he saw the table, and the space she had made for the stuff he carried, he quickly set it down. Arms took Raelen into an embrace. "Thank you for all the trouble you must have went through to prepare such a meal."

Blushing lightly, Raelen smiled tenderly and shook her head with a soft giggle. "If it was any trouble at all, then it was worth it to have you over at my home for dinner," she whispered softly. Honestly, it hadn't been too much trouble...she had been too excited about Byakko coming over to think that preparing a meal was any trouble at all.

Byakko smiled warmly and kissed her cheek affectionately. "You're always so kind-hearted." He then released her and walked over to one chair. He pulled it out for her, and just as a waiter would at a restaraunt, held out his hand to help her into her seat.

Arching a perfectly slender brow, Raelen accepted the affectionate kiss to her cheek most happily before gently taking his hand and sitting down, allowing him to seat her. "And you're always so charming and sweet...but you still have yet to see me in the morning, when I'm not so kind-hearted," she playfully said with a secretive smile. It was true...Raelen was not a morning cat.

"Oh, I don't know about that." Byakko carefully slid her in and smiled warmly. "I think I could handle whatever you might throw at me." The hawk elder made his way to his own seat, sitting down and pulling himself in. "Now what shall we start with?"
