Hitomi listened silently to Shinku's questions and statements, closing her icey-blue eyes. "My name is... Hitomi.... there's no need to call me miss. Though it's ironic how I got my name..." She answered first, dwelling on her memories. She shook her head, forgetting about her memories, though. "Oh.. and about your hair and eyes... I... guessed." She lied, not wanting to explain too many things. Thought he lie was a little obvious.
She played with her thumbs, her hands folded in her lap. Her head looked down, her white tresses falling from her shoulders and she thought silently, not moving at all. After a while though, she looked back up, only blinking a few times.
She slowly moved her hand up and touched his face softly, as if to re-feel the image that she had originally seen. The picture did eventually come back, and a small smile formed on Hitomi's face.
"It's a pleasure to meet you... Shinku-san."

Shinku let her hand travel around his face, not taking much notice of it. "So... Your name is Hitomi... The pleasure is all mine..." He said quietly, with his same calm voice. He had changed alot after enrolling at Ria on his mission to hunt down Rivera. He had had his first relationship and first kiss there, and he had actually tried to establish himself as a true friend to some. "So... May I ask how you ended up here?" He requested.

Hitomi kept her eyes closed. "In the Racing Club, or here in Mirandal itself?" she asked curiously. She was begining to like Shinku, or at least to a level where she could consider him an aquantance or friend.
She then remembered about her staff again. "Oh, um... could you please hand me my staff? I don't feel too secure without it..." She asked quietly.

"To Mirandal I mean..." Shinku said simply, picking the staff up off the table and handing it to her. "But yeah... How'd you end up at Mirandal?" He asked, curiousity tugging at his voice. Maybe, I shouldn't have asked... She'll want to know about me... And my past is rather hard to explain... He thought alertly.

"Well..." she started quietly, "I came here to look for a cure for my eyes... I haven't been blind all of my life..." She took in a deep breath. Where to start with her past? She didn't know... but she just decided to start somewhere... didn't matter where.
"When I was just a little girl, my mother was becoming very ill, and could no longer leave our house, let alone her bed. She soon suffered from paralysis, so she was practicly a human vegetable. I prayed for her every day, hoping that I could find a way to help her. I was told by an old wiseman, though, that if I wanted to save my mother, I would have to sacrafice something very precious. Of course, I was only around 4, so Io had to think hard.." She explained quietly, a sad but calm expression on her face. "At sunset, I went to a field of flowers that my mom had once shown me, so I could glance at it one last time... a field of nothing but blues, and it turned a wonderful purple color at sunset. I had decided to give up my sight for my mother's health... but it wasn't what it seemed..."
"The price was higher than I thought, though. My mother had died during the process of me giving up my sight, and because she died, my sight would be lost forever, because I would have had it back after my mother died. So that's how I wandered here, to find a cure for my eyes... I would do anything to see that field of flowers again..." She finished, letting out a sigh. She wiped her eyes slowly, feeling the tears dissolve on her hand.
"Oh, I'm sorry... I was just rambeling... What about you? Well, you can tell me if you want to.." she asked quietly, opening her eyes.

Gordon had just got a message from Shepard and hurrid over having the warm cloth. " Here you go!" he said handing it to Shinku. He then quickly ran outside and spread his wings and flew off back to the campus.

"Geez kid... I already told you not to worry about it..." Shinku said with a slightly annoyed look on his face. He then turned back to Hitomi with a look of kindness on his face, his hand moving to her face and wiping a few tears away. "You had given your sight for your mother's health? That's a rather kind thing to do..." He said gently. He then let his hand trail off her cheek and back to his side. "I don't really know much about being that kind yet though... I'm an ex assassin... Let's leave it at that..." He said quietly.

Hitomi froze at the word assassin. Her older brother was an assasin, ans she remebered the horrifying red color that she used to see on his arms... his hands.
----
"Oniisan!" They younger Hitomi would cry when she saw her older brother. He would always reply, "Not now, Hi-chan, not now." And he would walk away, quickly slipping gloves on his hand. Gloves that were white... to cover the red.
Her older brother... Ryuu..
"Ryuu the Red Hand"
----
"I don't mean to delve into things... but have you hear of the 'Red Hand', by any chance? I hear he's a well known assasin..." Hitomi asked quietly. She slowly stood up, using her staff to push herself up. Her eyes looked downwards, not wanting to make any contact... Her older brother was well known among other... assassins...

"Ryuu? I think I worked with him once when I was twelce..." Shinku said easilly, smiling. "He was quite a piece of work too! Over... Three thousand kills without once being discovered! Absolutely amazing!" Shinku said excitedly. He remembered the thrill of working alongside that legendary assassin. "And the way he did things... So discreet!" He exclaimed with joy. He usually only found joy when talking about assassination techniques, or reminiscing about old assignments.

It was obvious... Shinku knew him well... almost too well. He knew his name... and he said that he only told people his names if he could trust them. "So you know him..." She whispered, her head tilting downwards. Her grip on her staff tightened considerably; so much that her hand was shaking in pain.
Why did it hurt to know that Shinku was once associated with her brother? Why did she feel so much hate and anger towards Ryuu? She opened her mouth to speak, but the words wouldn't come. She took in a deep breath, trying to calm herself. She opened her mouth again, this time though, the words came.
"Ryuu... the 'Red Hand'..." Hitomi started softly, "is my older brother... Have you noticed the white hair?" She asked.

"Actually... No... I've seen a lot of white hair in my time..." Shinku said quietly. He noticed her hand shaking and felt that maybe something was wrong. "Did you and your brother... Have a difficult past?" He asked gently, his voice now soft and quiet. "So... Ryuu is your older brother then huh?" He asked to confirm what he was hearing.

Hitomi closed her eyes tightly, her teeth gritting together and her fist clenched tight. She wanted to cry. She wanted to scream. She wanted to hit her older brother. She wanted her mother to help her when she needed it the most.
"Yes..." She replied quietly, "Ryuu is my older brother." She covered her eyes with her hand, tears starting to flow out of her eyes that seemed to burn so much. She let out small whipers that turned into sobs, chocking out words. "He was.. never there! He didn't give a damn... about... mom! He didn't act like an older brother! He just... killed people...!"
She sunk to her knee's, her cheeks red, her heart hurting so much. She wanted to be comforted, the way her mother used to before she died. Before everything changed.
"I hate... Ryuu!" Hitomi sobbed.

Shinku watched Hitomi break down into her fit of tears. He knew the way Ryuu was. He was more of a killing machine without a heart, more like a demon than a man. Shinku couldn't stand the way Hitomi was brought down to tears and just wanted her to stop crying, so he did what he could. He turned towards her, slid off the table and into the seat next to her, and put his arms around her, holding her tightly. "It's alright... I'm sorry that he wasn't there for you... I didn't know any of this..." He said softly.

Hitomi tried her best to muffle her sobs. She burried her face in his chest, the warmth of Shinku's arms comforting Hitomi a little more than it did the second before. She felt herself move closer to Shinku, feeling butterflies in her stomach. It was... strange. It was a feeling, though, that Hitomi enjoyed. It made her feel... special... and mabey just a little bit... safe.
"Don't worry about it..." Hitomi whipered quietly, now only sniffling. A small blush crept onto Hitomi's cheeks, only having met Shinku, yet he held her tightly. Having only just met, yet showing increasing affection.
"Shinku-san... thank you very much..." She later said, getting out of her seat. She picked up her staff once again, regaining her balance. "I think I'll be leaving the racing club. I've caused too much unnecisary drama..." Hitomi stated nervously. "If you want to come with me, though, you are welcome to."

"You don't have to leave..." Shinku said gently. "If anyone has any problems with you... I'll deal with them like that last guy!" He said with a good natured smile. But he noticed a bunch of dirty looks from most of the bar-goers and simply smiled, more nervously though. "Actually... Why not..." He said knowing even with his abilities, he wouldn't stand a chance against a bunch of them. "We'll just be.... Leaving now!" He said and took Hitomi's wrist gently, leading her outside quickly. "So... Where to now?" He asked quietly.
