"Yeah, I'm sure we will." Zach bobbed his head, not finding anything insightful to say in response. At the moment, he was fairly collected, seeking nothing. He followed Sid's glance down at the stairs to the things the older man had left there. All the noise he'd made when he was getting up didn't give Zach any illusion the man had some physical troubles. The dragon sympathized, knowing the difficulty of useless or nonexistant limbs. Cautiously he moved forward, bending down and scooping the magazine and soda can up in his hands. His left fingers had a slippery grip on the glossy cover of Time, threatening to puncture his claws in to keep it from sliding away. He looked ready to hold out the objects to Sid. "Uh, did you need thisss ssstuff?"

Sid's eyes narrowed before he could stop himself, or remember that he didn't have his sunglasses on to hide it with. He opened his mouth, then snapped it closed as his tiny, abused voice of reason interjected. He was only trying to help, nothing to get bent out of shape about... so what if people already perceived him as old and feeble? So what if he was already making good headway into it? He grit his teeth, he had to be cool about it. It wouldn't do to lose it over some imagined insult.
"Thanks," he said. It was hard, he hoped, to read much emotion in the one word.
Sid gingerly took the soda and magazine from Zach. Returning the magazine would, if nothing else, give him an excuse to go back out later. If writing wasn't going to work, there was no sense languishing inside any longer than necessary.
"See ya around," he said. He turned and walked up the stairs, the task made even more difficult as he tried to keep from dropping both the bottle and the magazine under his arm. Even so, he tried to be quick about it. That answered the question of which duplex was his, and by the time he made it into the door he was struggling to keep the pain off his face.
