"Of course you didn't. I believe you," he lied again. The color changing was actually fascinating, but Zach wasn't about to say anything about it. Billy might not have even noticed that he'd turned purple just now. Instead, he looked away and readjusted his top hat as he waited for Billy to stop acting so nervous. One of the holes had caught on the ridge of one of his horns.

"O'course... o'course..." He babbled, shaking his head as he twisted his tentacles as though patting for a pack of cigarettes in a shirt pocket. His expression furrowed when he remembered he didn't have a shirt nor any cigarettes, and gave a disapointed, miserable sigh.

While the octopus was busy doing whatever it was he was doing, Zach did some thinking about what he'd seen. He wasn't absolutely sure about things, but it wouldn't hurt to test his little theory.
Zach was still looking away from Billy, over at a random duplex, but he'd stopped fiddling with the hat. "You know, we met a pretty long time ago. You tried to ssstrangle me, I think. Isssn't that right?"

"Well, you did," he said flatly. He closed his eyes as he tried to focus. There was an undertone of annoyance in his voice when he continued. A grudge could last a long time, it looked like. "I don't forgive people easily... and essspecially not you!"
Without much of a pause, he turned back to Billy sharply and feigned a lunge for the octopus. A loud growl rumbled from his throat. Both his clawed hands were held up as if ready to rip into the octopus. His expression was contorted and teeth bared, making him look all the more hideous.

THe octopus flinched back in his chair, but halfway through squirting a moutfull of ink at the dragon, his little collar kicked in and he sagged back to let the black liquid dribble down his front sloppily. Just like old times. "I din'.... I jes'... oooh~!" He groaned miserably.

Zach pulled away just ahead of the majority of the spray of ink, though he felt a little bit of it splatter on the side of his snout after he'd closed his mouth, and nearly gagged. The black liquid looked like some kind of vomit the way it was dripping from Billy's mouth. With his clumsy but completely scaly left hand he wiped the stuff off his face. His eyes travelled down to the collar, which had lit up as he hoped. Whatever the collar actually did was beyond him, but whatever it was must have been bad. The moan from the octopus attested to that.
"What'sss wrong, Billy? Can't make a fissst to punch me with thisss time?" He broke out into loud, cruel laughter, grinning from one former ear to the other. His tail lashed wildly to it. Revenge was a great feeling. He turned and headed back for the cafeteria door, still howling with laughter, though rubbing the inked side of his snout compulsively with his hand.
Before he ducked inside, he looked over his shoulder at the octopus. "And I forgot to tell you, you're ssstill a freak!"
