Wewt I preordered it. *dances*
Sweet deal, yeah ill prolly end up preordering it also. I could never bring myself to deleting NWN cause i had spent so much time making gear and characters. Hopefully NWN2 isnt a let down, but it will be hard to live up to the first game.

Hopefully it will be a great game. Maybe ill see ya sometime on it.

Hard to live up to? Better graphics, thats a winner. Aurora was plain fugly.

I just hope they don't ******** it up as badly as they did NWN. I mean "Hellball", who's bright idea was it to weaken hellball so badly that it's like getting slapped by an Elf? What about the 50% backlash damage?

All I can say is they'd better get it right this time.... Still I got a copy of the collectors ed on preorder.

Lol better graphics doesnt automatically win it as a better game, just reproducing a game with updated graphics and charging the same price as the original while not bringing anything new a good game is not.

And they better not do that same UBER s**t that was all multiplayer was for a long time. I got tired of that fast.

My friends and I already have it on preorder. I hoep the toolkit gets a little bit of an interface uplift, but I really can't wait to play around with all the campaign building goodies again.

The new camera angles also make me a happy, happy person.

Graphics can make or break a game. It doesn't matter how good a game is. If people are not going to enjoy staring at the horrid polygonal images, then they are not going to play it. Besides, all mu comment said, was that better graphics is a winning factor in the market.

I really have to disagree with you. Graphics are certaintly nice to look at, but the core reason you buy a game in the first place is for the gameplay, the fun, the narrative, the story.....NOT hopefully just to stare at pretty pictures. If your games' gameplay and/or story are incredably inane or poorly thought out, all the graphical wonders in the world won't save the game.

Look at Shadows of Colossus for example. Beautiful graphics, amazing animation, espeically on the horse. Gamplay? Just meh. Did it sell amazing well? Nope. Do I like to look at it? Yup. Did I buy it? Nope.

Or how about all the PS1 and Nintendo games peopel still play? Final Fantasy VI? People still love to play it, myself included. It's because the story is engaging, and the characters are fun. Yes, the graphics bite in comparison to what the industry can achieve now, but that's not what hooked people and it isn't what keeps people playing.

I'm not saying that good graphics can save a bad game. Hell Prey was hyped for having awesome graphics, which it does. However the gameplay is somewhat annoying and predictable.

What I am saying is that in an RPG, where to play the game and enjoy the gameplay you have to state at the graphics for hours, you would want to look at something pretty. NWN1 was not pretty, which was a big factor in putting me off playing it.

No, that's the point I'm disagreeing with. A game doesn't have to have state of the art graphics to still be enjoyable for hours. Look at FFVI for example. Crappy a** graphcis by today's standards, and yet people still play for hours on end. Also, many people say NWN does have pretty graphics, myself included. This is completely subjective however.

Or let's look at the Suikoden series, including the newest. Graphics state of the art? In no way. Is it still selling well and enjoyable for hours on end? Yes. There are more examples. I'm not going to type them all out.

Or what about the original Morrowind? Graphics state of the art for it's time? Yeah, I'd say it was close on some areas? Reception? Rather mixed. The game was freaking slow and boring for many of its players, and looking at the graphics didn't help.

A game's graphics, INCLUDING RPGS, does not equate to hours of playability for everyone involved. You however, seem to be the exception to the rule, and shouldn't expect that everyone requires RPGs to have pretty graphics to like them.

Alright, yes. Old games, with not-so-beautiful graphics are still fun to play.

Beautiful graphics do not save crappy gamplay. Rather, beautiful graphics earn a few extra points for games with decent gameplay.

And then....you've got your games with amazing graphics AND gameplay. And those get declared a tour de force.

So...in conclusion...graphics help; they do not save.
