Arrival RP:

Richard looked at his watch as he settled into his seat, glad he splurged for bussiness class tickets. He had gained a bit of weight since he had flown last and its horribly uncomfortable to be compressed for over five hours. He checked his notes. Everything he'd been able to find out about Dr. Nicholas Moreau barely took up five pages. According to his teachers He was absolutely brillant, with an arrogance to match. So of it had been published on Richard's blog, some had not. Richard found the timing of his fathers passing more than a little interesting.

This trip was going to be the first time Richard would directly interview the subject of his little muckraking blog. Previously, all interview request had been declined, as Richard wasn't interested in the sunny corperate image that everyone wanted to see. Rather Richard wanted the truth, unedited and raw. The high stakes drama that unfolded around these modern mogules was fascinating to discover and watch.

With a smile, Richard leaned back and shut his eyes, it was going to be an interesting trip. This would be the first time he got to talk to a gaint without a web of lawyers threatening defamination suites.

6 hours later Richard had collected his bag, an old style leather suitcase. With his cane in one hand and the suitcase in the other, Richard plodded his way through the sercuity checkpoint and into the waiting area. Checking the map nearby, he found that the helipad where he was suppose to meet Moreau's Pilot was across the airport. Richard chuckled to himself. He was going to get his exercise today whether he wanted to or not.

Richard is panting by the time he has walked to helipad. He waits a moment to catch his breath and pad the sweat that has begun to seep from his brow. Then he steps outside to see a very large Black man waiting besides an impressive helicopter. Richard squinted againist the sun as he approached the man.

James looked at his watch as he waited for the newest “arrival” to make it here. Another poor sap who had no idea what he was getting into. Another victim of Moreau's insanity. He'd done a bit of prying, apparently this man liked to expose corporate C.E.O.s for who they really were.

More power to you brother... James thought. Too bad you picked the wrong place to pry, men with money and power are almost always dangerous.

As he watched Richard hobble his way towards the helicopter, James laughed a bit to himself He smiled and nodded, looking at his watch.

“Your three minutes late.” he said with his usual stern expression.

Richard smiled at the big man, tucked his cane under his arm and extended his hand to the Big Man, his face breaking into a jolly grin. "Three minutes eh? Is that all? I must be doing something right then. The name's Richard Harrison."

At Richard's introduction James nodded his head towards the outstretched hand "Good, your who I was sent to pick up."

James turned around and entered the helicopter, leaving Richard's hand outstretched and waiting for the handshake he never recieved. Once James entered the helicopter he began to strap himself down and crank the rotor for the trip.

James tried to aviod getting too attatched these days.

Richard only paused for a moment when James spurned the handshake. The man must be pandnoid of old man germs, Richard reasoned with an internal chuckle. Richard tossed the suitcase into the passenger area of the helicopter and then closed the door. Freed of the weight of his suitcase, Richard circled around the helicopter with surprising speed for a man of his girth, opened the co-pilot seat door.

He pulled himself into the vechicle with an ease that indicated he had done this at least once before, pulled on the headset and shut the door behind him.
"Alright James, lets get the bird in the sky."

"Damn, that was awefully corny," thought Richard, still smiling.

James looked over at Richard with something between a confused and exasporated. "Look old man, leave the piloting to me. Don't touch anything... I mean it."

James took the helicopter up, and began to fly towards the island. As the helicopter idnd't take long to be above water from the coast airport.

Richard leaned back, displaying the fact that his hand were not touching anything. "Crystal clear my friend. I simply dislike being chauffeured."

Richard allows James to set his course before speaking again. Studying the big man. James was obiviously unhappy about something, whether it was about his employer or some other trouble Richard didn't know. Maybe he would appericate the oppertunity to b***h. Richard just wasn't sure to start with small talk or go directly to what he wanted to hear.

Small Talk first he decided. He watched James pilot. Looked out the window. "I must say its been awhile since I've flown in a whirlly bird. Civilian helicopters arn't allowed to fly in Baghdad, I think it was in the Congo with the red cross back in 2002. How long you been flying her?" Richard sneaking in the question at the end.

"About two years. Since the construction began. I've been pilotting various for Feral Labs for the last 15 years of my life though." James shrugged as he wondered why the old man was being so chatty.

James straitened his back in his char. He normally avoided talking to the passengers. It kept him from thinking too hard about what he was taking the people to.

That was exactly what Richard had wanted him to say. Gave him the opening he was looking for. "Ah so you've seen the company under both the Senior and Junior Moreaus. Its been ten years since I retired from the company. Tristian worked his people to bone, good bussiness man though. Does Nicholus treat his employees any better?" Richard's tone was conversational.

"The Doctor doesn't involve himself much in the day to day affairs of the business from what I understand. He signs the papers to make the stuff happen, but he doesn't involve himself in much of it." James shrugged.

"I make good money though, and my family is... well cared for." James attempted a half smile but didn't quite pull it off so well.

There was something ominous about the way James had said that last bit. One's family is not usually cared for by the company. The company pays the employee and the employee takes care of his family. Dig deeper. There was something there.

"Not involved with the bussiness? That really surprises me. Dr. Moreau doesn't seem like the type who would just idle on beach. He appears to love control a man like that doesn't let go of the wheel unless forced."

"Oh he does, all decisions go through him. But he doesn't keep much up with the day to day affairs. I would know, I carry all the documentation and important information to him." James nodded.

James continued, even as he took the helicopter through a bit of a wind gust. "As far as employee treatment, I don't think he cares much about them as long as they continue to do their job. Leaving the actual state of the employees to the other members of the board."

Hrrm thats a dead end. Might as well be direct at this point. "Doesn't keep up with day to day affairs? What's he doing out here then?"

To be honest Richard hadn't even known he was going to an island, he had figured that the helicopter would take him to a corperate tower in Florida. He looked back towards the shore. His brows knitted. If James dodged the question he might start thinking paranoid thoughts.
