The octopus didn't even seem to notice he was moving, his head lolled to stare up at the deer woman, "Done wha' wrong?"

Emerwyn smiled to herself. The one thing he wasn't supposed to understand, he did.
"I have betrayed someone very dear to me. And in returning to him, I have thus betrayed another." As she spoke, she pushed Billy slowly along. For a few moments, she'd completely forgotten about the paper that lay on the ground.

His face contorted as he tried to make sence of what she had just said, but while the words individually were comprehensable, the sentance itself made no sence to him. "What?" He finally murmured.

At this she simply sighed.
"But no one said that decisions were going to be easy. Nor are they ever to work out as well as they should."
She finally stopped pushing him. "Thank you."
Then, she walked back to were the paper lay, and she crouched down to lift it. It had become thoroughly wet now, and it was barely legible. But gingerly, she folded it up, and clutched it with the rest.

Billy didn't seem to be able to keep track of her strange sentance structure, instead his attention had deverted to the rain, and he gave a low, innebriated giggle, "Feelin'... wetter..."

Her arms trembled as she held the papers close to her. She was not going to find any more today. It was getting steadily darker as the rain clouds thickened. On top of that, the rain was too heavy for her to properly search through. The next day, maybe they'd be dried. The prospect looked grim.
She walked back over to Billy. "Feeling better, as well?"

He shook his head, keeping his eyes up on the dark clouds and pounding raindrops, "Feelin' better... ifn' I had fingers." His expression was unreadable, his eyes still half lidded. The once clever man's brain had been crippled by his collar, and he knew it. He was having trouble with his own thought processes, let alone what was happening to the people around him. He was trying, though, to at least feign comprehension.

"Well," she said, shifting her feet. It was frightfully difficult to speak to someone in this state. She almost perferred the bitter, sardonic Billy. At least he was conscious.
"I give my thanks again, and hope we shall meet again soon. But I really must be going now. Lest you need any help...?"

"Need help...." He muttered, mouth trembling into a frown, "B'don' t'ink... y'can help me."
