Christopher ducked behind his brother as soon as Katina shook off. Then he watched with one eyebrow raised as she dug a hole and buried her fish. As she took off, he replied, "Yeah, I can see that. Bye."
Turning back to Erik, Chris suddenly felt very overheated. All those clothes his brother was wearing was making him get fidgety. He couldn't help it. Christopher took off his shirt and dropped it to his side, letting out a pant of pleasure. "That's better. How can you stand being in all those clothes anyhow?"
Chris, giving it quick consideration, went ahead and removed his shoes too. For a moment, he admired the black, leathery paws and his claws as he flexed his toes and feet.
'I should really return to the matter at hand...' Christopher reminded himself.
"Ok, I admit I've done it too," Christopher admitted a little ashamed. "I marked my duplex door. I also noticed that uhm..."
Christopher looked down at the groin area of his shorts, really choking up now. "...I noticed that I now have a sheath."

"See you later!" Erik said, waving his free paw.
Replying to Chris' question, he simply said, "Eh, I try not to think about it."
"Phew, glad I'm not the only one." Besides that one tree, Erik had also marked a couple rocks, his door, and Branwan's door in the middle of the night, but of course, they would be his little secret.
Erik went totally wide-eyed went Chris talked about his private area. Erik changed a week and half ago, he'd taken 6 showers and 2 baths and didn't even bother to check. "Hold on, I'll be right back." Stepping behind a tree and some bushes, Erik checked...and was shocked by what he saw. When he sat back down, he had a slightly saddened look on his face.

Christopher looked concerned when his brother came out from behind the shrubbery with a glum look on his face. "What's the matter?"
Although Christopher knew quite well what was bothering his little brother, he wanted Erik to confess why it was bothering him. He was surprised that Erik hadn't even noticed in the first place. Inquiring, "You never noticed before? I'm surprised because the first time I tried to pee... let's just say I had to give the bathroom a good cleaning afterwards. I can't say I'm disappointed by the change but it's just rather... awkward after being so use to using what I had for 21 years. It's like I had to potty train myself all over again, you know?"
Chris patted his brother on the shoulder some to show there was nothing to be ashamed of. Then out of curiosity, "So, what provoked you to try marking your territory? Or was it just impulse?"

Sitting back down next to his brother, Erik let out a sigh before saying "I'm fine, it's just that this change kind of came as a shock."
"I guess I just never thought that would change too. Chris, how did you go to the bathroom, did you stand up or sit down, because I sit down when I have to take a leak."
"As for marking territory, I guess I just did out of impulse, I mean, last night, I actually got up and marked Branwan's door, but let's just keep that our little secret, shall we?" he said with a wink and grin.
"So, is that all you wanted to get off your chest, because there's something I want to show you."

"I usually tend to stand up when I pee," explained Christopher. "But lately I've had to uhm... go into the woods and ahem, lift my leg."
Chris let out an embarassed laugh and continued on. But his eyes opened wide when Erik told him about marking Branwan's door. He was shocked that his little brother would go so far. Then an amusing thought popped into Christopher's head, causing him to smirk. "You know... I wonder if this method would work with buying a car. Just simply mark it and claim it as your own."
Christopher's face turned to one of curiousity when his little brother told him there was something for him to see. Before answering, Chris ran through a mental checklist to make sure he had touched all bases.
'Well, I think I covered all that was on my mind at the moment,' thought Christopher.
Nodding his head, Chris replied to his little brother, "Yeah, I'm done for now. So lead the way."

Dashing off on all fours, Erik said "Eat my dust!"
When they reached the duplexes, Erik got back up on his hind legs, took out his key, and opened the door.
"Welcome, to my underground lair!" he said, mimicking Dr. Evil. Erik's room was surprisingly neat: the bed was made, books (mostly dinosaurs, mythical animals, aliens, cryptozoology, etc.) were kept in order on the large bookshelf against the wall. "Now I want to show you something that I've been working on since before I came here." Opening up a drawer on the bookshelf, there were more books. Looking through the books, Erik was having a hard time finding what he was looking for. "Chris, you might want to get a drink and sit down or something, since this could take a minute."

Sighing a little when Erik sped off, Chris light heartedly complained, "Why am I always the one who is a step behind?"
Chris did his best to keep up with Erik but it was rather difficult when his little brother was running on all fours. By the time they got to the Erik's place, Christopher was panting uncontrollably. He dashed inside as soon as his brother opened the door, hoping the AC was on. Quickly fleeting to the sink, Christopher grabbed himself a glass and turned on the cold tap.
"You... gotta slow it... down..." Chris panted out right before he poured the water into his muzzle. "...I'm a little at a disadvantage since I don't have digitigrade legs yet."
Now that Christopher caught his breath, he waited patiently for his little brother to reveal what he had been working on. After going through 3 glasses of water, Chris started to get fidgety and barked out, "Come on, can't you just tell me what it is?"

"Alright, alright, calm down." he said as he pulled out a large, encyclopedia-sized book. The book itself was actually kind of heavy, as evidenced by Erik having trouble lifting it up. Plopping down on the bed, Erik let his older brother have a better look. In bold letters, the title spelled out " The Speculative Dinosaur Project", and there was a picture of a large dinosaur on the cover as well. With a bit of pride in his voice and his tail wagging, Erik said "Behold the fruit of my labors." Wanting to explain the whole book, Erik waited for Chris to ask a question.

Christopher took the book into his pawwed hands and studied it for a moment. For a side project, this book in works was rather professionally put together. Chris gazed up at his little brother, a look of awe on his face. "Erik, this is impressive. How did you manage to put this together? What topics do you focus upon in the book as far as dinosaurs go?"
Chris waited for Erik's reply, ears perked up.

A wide smile spread across Erik's face as he listened to his brother's words. Clearing his throat as if he was going to give a speech (which he was thinking of doing). "Basically, it's an alternate history project, aimed to show what the world be like today if the comet that killed off the dinosaurs 65 million years ago missed. The world, geographically speaking, is exactly the same as our world, which we refer to as Home-Earth (HE). There are many incredible animals that me and a dozen other people have created for every ecosystem, every environment, every continent. For example, Chris, tell me your favorite dinosaur, and I'll find it's descendants in Spec, as we like to call it for short.

Christopher listened attentively to his little brother, his face beaming as he did. The ideas that the teenage foxboy was proposing with this project were rather fascinating. It was obvious just how much time, research, and care had gone into this. Chris was quickly reminded of when he was trying to get his film together. Just the amount of energy and love being put into it, doing what could be done to make it truly special. But then a glum thought hit Christopher like a freight train, causing him to frown.
'He's never going to get a chance to ever show this to anyone else,' Christopher realized, the thought depressing him some. 'All this work and dedication... and no one else in the world will ever get to see what he's done at all. It won't ever be published.'
When Erik asked him what his favorite dinosaur was, Christopher hardly heard him. After lingering on his thoughts a few seconds longer, Chris snapped out of it and responded, "Hmmm? Oh! Uhm... Let's try raptors, or those spitter ones you see in Jurassic Park."

"Ah yes, the raptors, Deinonychosauria. Since the Cretaceous and throughout the Cenozoic, raptors have had an incredible evolution, spreading to almost continent, except Antarctica where it got too cold, and Australia, where they died out in the Eocene after the extinction of the gigantic Notoraptors. Today in Spec, there are half a dozen groups of raptors, such the tree-dwelling, monkey-like Arbronychosaurs, the African Mattiraptors, the American Hesperonychids, the Velociraptor-like Boreonychids, and finally, there are also Torrent-Raptors, Ninjas, and the Ibisbill Raptor." After talking so much, Erik let out a sigh and wet his lips.

Christopher broke out in laughter at the name of the last type of raptor. Rolling off the bed, Chris just laid on the floor and let the laughs flow like a river. After he was done, he leaned upward and apologized while trying to catch breath, "Oh, I...'m sorry. That... last one made... made me think... Bit-Torrent."
Chris just grinned and surpressed his second bout of laughter, snorting some as he did. He stood once more and had a seat on the bed. He then asked absent mindedly, "So, what do you plan to do with this?"
That's when Christopher realized he made a mistake and smacked his forehead.
'You idiot!' his mind screamed at him. 'Why did you ask that?! That's what you wanted to keep the conversation away from, because he won't be able to do jacks**t with it on this damn rock!'

Tilting his head, watching his brother, Erik didn't understand that last joke. Erik took his brother's question seriously, and he answered "Well, I'm thinking of showing this to Branwan, I think she might like it. As for the book project, this copy here is only a rough draft, there's still a lot of animals to make, ideas to iron out, that's why I have it, to make rewrites and stuff. All the other have a copy as well, so when it's ready, they'll publish it and hopefully it'll be made into a BBC production, like Walking With Dinosaurs." A smile on his face, Erik noticed Chris smacking himself on the forehead and said, "What's the matter?"

Christopher shrugged off his guilt and replied, "Nevermind. Didn't realize the others had copies too. So then your work will be seen then. That's good, you deserve it."
That's when Chris noticed an odd smell. He could swear he smelt something fermenting. Sniffing the air, he traced the rotting aroma to underneath his little brother's bed. Curiosity got the better of Christopher and he lifted up the sheets, having a look. He backed away quickly and gagged a little.
Turning his attention to Erik, Christopher cried out, "Geez Erik! You could at least throw the seagull remains away when you're done. My God, that was nasty!"
