It's kinda funny how the jrock fandom is still very much about reminiscing, ne? Im surprised people actually remember Aucifer ^_^;
For instance...at least state-side, people still equivocate jrock with Mana and such when the age of Mana is long gone. The international jrock scene seems very focused on the past...
Hey, there were good bands in the past. I think there's more out there about the older bands because they've been around a while and it's easier to get info on them in English. With newer bands, it's a bit tougher, especially when they don't have a decent-sized English-speaking fanbase yet.
Rei-chan: I'm glad you like them. ^-^ We're gonna end up watching Kaikan Phrase at your house, aren't we? xD
[All 44 episodes of it...]
There were, like Luna Sea and La'cryma Christi (okay. guilty pleasure.), Pierrot (who started sucking), GLAY (glargh. no), etcetc.
I tried Aucifer way back when...just never did it for me.
I dont mind people liking things from way back when...jrock's roots are important, afterall.
I'm just not sure why people obsess over certain things as if they were still kicking today. Like Mana. I dont know why people still obsess over him.
Then again, maybe its the anime syndrome. When people used to say "anime" people used to immediatly say "SAILORMOON! DBZ!" (now its NARUUUTOOOOOO!!!111! ).
I guess now, when people say jrock, the immediate reaction is "MANA! DIR EN GREY!", even though in my opinion, both are past their prime.
