First of all, I really liked the video; I thought it was touching, and while not very... relative to the song itself, it still panned out nicely.
I thought maybe old home video type stuff of a father and his son, and then hospital and the father dying.
Rain.

At the bit when the little guitar solo comes in; maybe thats the part when the heart monitor goes BEEEEEP and then the mother can bury her head in her hands, and the son looks out of the window at "hear comes the rain again"
The guitar solo part would be so cool, because everytime I hear that solo it sets something off in me...

I think it should have flash backs of billie when he was younger or the band when they were younger. It should have some season changes on it like when they mention Sept, how Spring began, and that summer has come and past.

I LIKE having Issues.

Because I'm so bored and my parents are out so I can spend as much time on the compy as humanly possible, I'm going to write EXACTLY how I think the Wake me Up... video should have gone. In my opinion.

Okay, so it opens without talking.
The guitar starts and so does the movie. The movies are home movies;
a father in the hospital after his wife has just given birth (I think the dad looks a bit like Billie. The wife has red hair.) and the wife hands him the baby.
Summer has come and passed....
He looks up at the camera and smiles, holding his son. He kisses him on the forehead and hugs him.
The camera has a blvd effect on it, as in it's old looking and stuff.
Wake Me Up when September ends...
Billie comes into the shot. He is sitting down on a Longview style couch in the dark, holding his red guitar and playing it. He's wearing his question mark tie (<3) Then he's singing and stuff.
Like my father's come to pass....
More home movies. The kid is in a high chair, the food goes everywhere or something.
here comes the rain again falling from the stars
Holiday home movies. disneyland or something
Drums start. Goes back to Billie on the couch and Tre appears from the darkness playing. Mike appears also.
Summer has come and passed the innocent can never last.
Changes to the stage in the actual video when the "wake me up" bit comes(I like that stage) more fairy lights and stuff.
Kid is about nine now. He is playing football in the back garden with his dad. goes on for thirty seconds. The ball goes out of the yard and onto the road.
The dad gets hit by a car.
As my memory rests
hospital scene. mother is in chair beside comatose dad. Child is sitting away from them.
View of heart monitor.
*BIG SOLO*
Shows heart monitor go dead.
Mother puts her head in her hands in grief.
Show child looking down at his feet, obviously devasted.
More of the band. Billie doing that head thing where he's looking up at the sky.
Rain starts falling, and child looks out of the window when the song goes quiet.
whenever the chorus is playing it shows the band.
funeral.
more rain. Everyone leaves after the burial. Child is in a small black suit. People are mourning, the mother is wearing a net thing over her head, crying.
Then the last three seconds of the song is the child looking at the gravestone and putting a daisy on the grave.
And that is my boredness.

I really want to put in the "No matter what there'll always be someone there for you. I'll never leave you" bit, because when I first saw the video, that bit was the most touching.:3

the whole thing makes me wonder what billie joe thinks of the video. i guess if i were him i'd want the video to reflect the song's meaning. this is the first song billie joe wrote for himself about his father's passing and it's made out to be a song about teen love.
then again, he may rather have it that way. a personal video may hit too close to home.
i guess i'd find the video a lot more touching if it were personal, but it still makes me wonder what's going through billie's mind.
on a different note, does anyone know who plays the girl? she looks a bit like evan rachel wood from the movie thirteen. just wondering. heart

The video isn't that bad but I think that the storyline drags on way to much. The girl should really stop repeating things and I think that the stop in the middle was a bit long for what actually happens. The close up of Billie Joe's mouth isn't all that great either, it's pretty unsightly but I like the video in all it's darkness of life. whee
