Monsters and gods were the explanations proposed, and Janja was unwilling to commit herself one way or the other, or two either of them at all. There had to be some tangible reason and source of the waterfall, she thought, but she just didn't know what that would be.

But they would try to find out! It'd be odd to come to the end of the waterfall and find a monster or just.. nothing.

"I don't know if we will find out this way," she announced, looking over the ledges. Cautiously, she reached up and heaved herself onto a ledge just wide enough to stand upon. She was only a foot or so higher than on the ground, but it was a start. She started looking for another step.
