I was asked to share some of my poetry....it isn't the greatest but it is mine. So, here ya go smile
From where I stand
The knock on the door awakens me from dreamin' I answer in disbelief. I ask you the question But I know the answer in my heart.
From where I stand... I see blue eyes shaded by black. The cuts speak for themselves. Am I the only one who cares, who knows, who sees?
You stay to talk over some tea. I tell you that you can always stay with me. Though I know I can't make you I will just wait and see The outcome which is so clear to me.
He comes to my door And begs you to stay "It won't happen again," I hear him say You look back at me and the courage grows. You know the truth as he has said it before.
From where I stand... I see a woman in love But won't do this again. You tell him goodbye And make it the end.
Be strong and have faith As you will pull through. Life can only get better After the abuse is through.

Wyattsgal4ever I love it... I've seen too many women in that place.. I've known too many men that did it to them... Your poem is a beautiful tribute to those that have the faith to walk away, and have the strength to stay away.

Thank you. It came to me after seeing a friend of mine in the aftermath of a beating. She left but I have a feeling she went bad. I haven't heard from her since then. That is my most precious of my poems. I have a small "diary" type notebook I keep them in. I may post another tomorrow. We'll see.

I lost track of this thread. Eh, busy with other stuff. Anyways, here's a few poems I promised to post. ***************************************
~Sleeping~
Where are you? In a world where I can no longer reach you, though I try Can you hear my thoughts as they whisper your name over the wind Does that same wind carry my love to you? Can you feel me holding you, willing you to return? Can you hear my prayers as my tears soak the pillow? Can you see me in your dreams like I see you in my own? I pray aloud believing you can hear my words I know you will see truth among the lies I believe in you
**************** ~True Love~
Sensitive and sweet, my wellfare always takes priority His caring arms squeeze the tension and fear from my soul His soft caress warms my breath I feel as if I could tell him all my secrets, and secrets they would remain He is my saviour. My lover and friend. My confidant to whom i tell all When I'm lost and lonely, surrounded in darkness He is the light that guides me back to the right path
I cry endless tears and soak my pillow endless apologies escape his lips when I am hurt He will not allow these tears to remain, but rather laughter takes their place He gives and asks nothing in return, finding pleasure in my smile He is caring and selfless What could I ever have done to deserve a man such as him?
*************** ~I Miss You~
It's the same story every time. The same words, the same tears caress my cheek. Old words treasured are lost to new and repetitive phrases that refuse to leave. Drowning in an endless sea of painful routine. Lost and lonely. My mind and my heart hear the messages and respond in two different ways. Pulling me in two seperate directions. Memories are my escape. My blessing, and yet my curse. The sheets are soaked with tears. The room is empty and so is my heart. And yet my heart is full. And so, I remain confused.
I find a message in everything I hear and see. Symbolism is my friend and also my foe. The old words sooth me, the new ones haunt me. I pretend nothing is wrong, but fool no one, not even myself. My voice grows smaller as I try to forget. Time is my enemy. An element I cannot bear, yet would give anything to have more of. I hear a voice saying words long forgotten. The voice grows faint as it is only in my mind. I miss you.
******************** ~Angel~
Every once in a while, a light will shine breaking through the darkness Darkness that exists in the world, and in our hearts. With the light comes hope, faith, and love. The glimmer of hope fills our hearts with joy and understanding Faith shines a path to guide us. And love, love glows and flurishes within even the darkest of hearts Memories are formed and feelings are cherished. They will continue to live on long after the light is dimmed
A single light can still be strong. It can brighten up darkest day and bring warmth to everything it touches The stronger the light's will to shine, the harder it is to extinguish it Even if it is shrouded in darkness, it never truely goes out. It will comfort you and guide you for as long as you believe It will watch over you from the heavens in the form of a star It is an angel

Ok... ummmm... Hi...... Yeah this isn't my schitck, and these are older than my kids, hell these are older than both of them, put together, and then some.... hope you enjoy....
Death to Dreaming
Death unto thee, in pale light walk alone, the glade is cool and quiet Death unto thee, the stars shine autumn’s wind, the trees swaying in time Death unto thee, in the pool before dawning she waits there still for thy heart. Death unto thee, for born is Morning.
Digital Daydreams
Pixelated phantoms of the synthetic mind the downloaded desires of the masses constantly changing scenery under a binary sky A truly magical realm, where science allows anything to happen. Dragons breathe fire upon promiscuous Belgium lesbians. Humans and animals frolic like they once did in ancient Greece. Aliens and demons kill each other for our amusements. Where the absurd becomes reality, and reality absurd. Nothing matters here except what YOU think. Good and Evil boiled down to a mathematical equation. Here, the mechanical brain dreams of us, What dream did you have?

heres a few of mine
For what dreams my come from this night, I shall always have that one special dream. You and I in sweet inbrace near the crystal lake as the mornings sun has began to raise to greet this day. With the wind in the trees, blowing softly, as though not to disturb us as we watch the sands of time pass through our fingers. Even though we wish for such a dream to be true, it is but a dream. Until such dreams come to life, I shall always welcome the night. For as I sleep, this dream shall aways return to me, as though im destined for such a life.
Unknowing are we, with eyes glazed with hopes and dreams. Time is slipping away, through our fingers like sand in the hourglass of fate. Wishing only for you never to leave the comfort of my embrace. As this day comes to a close my thoughts are only of you, wanting your touch as your sweet sent fills the air, knowing such a distance would shatter our dreams. Though hope remains for our bright future, only time can tell what our lives have in store for us. Can our love make it through such a trial, or will this poor soul be lost to a life in the dark once more, with a heart frozen with only my past to put me to sleep as the my life goes by.

Another of mine.....
Curious
Love is like the sea wave upon wave crashing at times greater than others like the great wave, overwhelming emotion strikes fear deep within we cannot relax for we may be swept away by this grand strength Yet we strive to achieve this feeling why? we are unsure Maybe the rush of euphoria? The essense of longing? The dire need to feel? The explaination is unresolved. Curiousities remain unsatisfied.
