((And another character!))
There she sat in the food ourt, a young woman who gave off a youthful appearance and aura. One could only guess that she was in her mid to late teens as she sat there on a bench with a plate before her, and it was on this plate that rested.. Lizards.
Naturally, they weren't alive either. They gave off the appearance that they had been barbequed, and they smelled just as lovely. Their scent, for anyone walking by, would be that of honey and garlic with a very small hint of lemon for an added tang. Honestly, though - was there a stranger food for anyone to eat? A woman no less! The average girl would squeal and flee away from the sight.
Oh, no, but not this young lady. Around the shrine she was known as a brute of a woman, a hard a**.. Well, generally speaking she was a b***h - a c**t to those who didn't like her. Indeed, this youth was the spitting image of Izanami personality wise, and fittingly enough she was garbed in the sheer white silken robe of Izanami.
However because of her small and petite form, she had the appearance of swimming within it. Fitting enough, the way the silk rippled it indeed made her look as though she was sitting in white water. All considering, she was rather beautiful to boot. Her eyes were almond shaped and carried within them a dangerous and ambitious gaze, which was much like that of a hungry wolf. Her hair, a sea of black silk, and that skin was just aspale as her robe. If she held still for but a moment, she'd look like a porcelain doll.
However she didn't make it that easy for people.
There she sat with her hands resting against the seat of the bench, allowing her to lean back and kick her legs out before her, his robe just loose enough to expose her collar bones and tease the males in the room with a glimpse of her chest. Was she a flirt? ..It'd be more accurate to say she didn't care.
Honestly, though. Even if that was the case she was failing miserably with that lizard tail hanging out of her mouth as she chewed on the body.

Marec walked towards the temple of his lord and deity, Kagutsuchi. The fire dragon that ruled the pyro's life, and aided in his quests for power. The master priest's boots hit the ground, leaving marks of fire on the ground, outlining the steps themselves. The obsidian beads wrapped around both arms glowed with the inner fire that was used by all priests and those in teaching to generate a flame from wherever it was needed. They also allowed for a connection to the deity to be present at all times, and thus certain rituals could be carried out anywhere, not just at the shrine. This was particularly useful, as it granted more versatility to the priests and students, thus they had an easier time of showing praise to their lord, and being granted power in return.
However, for this ritual, Marec was graduating one of the students to the rank of priest, and teacher for the new, and that had to be carried out at the shrine of Kagutsuchi, for only then would they truly be recognized. Forming the character for fire in his mind, Marec would be the one to brand it on the students throat, using the flame itself, and burning the flesh so that it would carry the mark of what had caused the mark. It became something of a union between the student and his deity, allowing for a greater trust, and power flow between them. The student was then a priest, and selected a new student to teach. However, there were a few drawbacks to such a initiation. The fire could burn a hole through the students throat if he was strong enough to withstand it, and control it, stopping it from killing him. Over one half of those who took the test tried it at too young an age, or when they weren't ready, and failed.
Anyone who asked to try and pass the test to become a priest was allowed to, and thus not many tried anymore, as those who tried it without any substance or form of power at all, instantly failed, and thus died, becoming an example for the rest. However those who succeeded inspired others to try, and thus there weren't enouhg priests for the amount of students. This was the reason for the easy chance to try and pass the initiation to priesthood, but also partially the reason for the failure.
Reaching Kagutsuchi's personal shrine inside the man shrine, Marec kept the student outside while he retrieved a single small ball of obsidian with a strong flame inside it, and he walked back out, and brought the young one near the shrine. He broke the ball, and made several handsigns, causing the flame to react in such a way that it flew towards the student, who remained calm and still, allowing the flame to do what it wanted. However, when it neared, he made a few handsigns as well, and the flamed reacted brilliantly, only licking flesh lightly, causing the brand to appear. The student refused to give to the pain though, even as it was apparent in his features. The burning hurt all those who passed, but that pain was a test of faith in itself. As the fire burned, Kagutsuchi wandered the mind of the student, looking through memories and future goals. Passions, and joys. Everything that made the student what he was.
This was the make or break point, and the student did brilliantly. He embodied the basic principles of a good pyromaniac, and praised his deity openly, and enacted all rituals at their appropriate time. Marec had personally done this initiation, as he held hope for the new priest, who would possibly make it to the second ranking, and possibly, if Marec somehow died, would succeed him. However, if Marec died of age, then the student would only be the new Grand Priest for a few years, if at all. When the ritual of initiation was completed, and successfully at that, Marec brought the priest fully into the shrine, and together they enacted a ritual involving a dragon shape of fire. The reason this was a ritual, was that the flame had to be brought through several of the heat spectrums, ending in black, which was hard to achieve. Only priests could accomplish it, and even some of them found that hard. However, to pass the test, you had to be able to do this, as that was the easiest way to tell if you could control the flame well enough.
Afterwards, the two of them separated, and Marec walked around a bit before walking towards a door he knew well, as it was where he commonly got his food. Walking inside, he walked towards the chef's there, and got his food raw. Getting a plate for it as well, Marec made a few quick handsigns, faster than the normal eye could see, and his palm lit on fire. Placing this a foot under the plate, it was heating it up, thus cooking the food. Any passer-by would find the meal strange however, as the only thing on the plate was meat. Nothing else. Most often, this was Marec's meal, and he was commonly known as a carnivore. Rarely did he have anything else, and his body had adapted to it now.
When the meat was done cooking, and the smell of it had perpetrated everything else in the area, Marec set to eating it, slowly, and methodically, not caring who came up to him. After several minutes of the chewing and swallowing routine, he was finished, and whatever he had left he simply burned to ash, and then past that, disintegrating it, and making it simply disappear. The flame used was nearly invisible, and enveloped a small area. Invisible flames were some of the hottest things, but making it in small amounts was easy to do. It cost very little power, as the base of all fire was, if not close to, invisible. Making an invisible fireball with a diameter of 6 inches however, could drain a slight more than average priest.
(Hows that for a first post?)

((It definately illustrates the image of the Kagutsuchi priest nicely.))
And there was was, the star pupil of Izanami herself. The youth that carried the name that sounded like rain, built on the characters for 'dangerous' and 'eyes' and thusly, she was called Ame. Oh, she was the star pupil but only for her abilities. She was often shunned by her fellow students, and frowned at by the priests of Izanami who taught her. It would soon become apparent why.
The female youth who was of her mid twenties sauntered about the food court, bowl of fried lizards carried by her hand and supported by a curvacious hip. It wasn't until the sight of one of the few priests of Kagutsuchi caught her attention. That was truly a rare sight, and thusly it sparked her curiousity. Oh, but she wasn't shy about approaching him. Not by A long shot.
She sat herself by him, watching him as he ate with this, fittingly enough, piercing orbs and arched brows. It was almost as if she was staring at him expectantly. A single glance was all she needed usual to steal the attention of a male, what with her robe barely clinging to her shoulders.
However, if he was so stupid as to take his gaze up further he'd be greeted with the sight of a fried, blackened, lizard tail hanging loosely between her lips as she chewed on the body.
"*Crunch, cruch.* So, you're a priest of *cruch* Kagutsuchi, right? *Crunch.*" No respect. "Marec, right?" Crunch, crunch, crunch..
Absolutely no respect whatsoever.

Marec heard the voice but utterly ignored it, and seeing as this temple was shared by other places, refused the urge to light the person on fire, as much as he wanted to. His mediation beads however flared slightly with his urges, and the bench that Marec was sitting on started heating up. Only those who were used to the flame wouldn't feel it, and thus Marec would know if this student was of Kagutsuchi or something else. He knew it was a student, as the priests of every other deity knew he was the grand priest, and would never talk to him with such disrepect. However, he knew he would have to reprimand and punish the person, and thus he looked up. He saw the robe that was barely clinging. Waving his hand, the air heated, and tied the robe tightly around the girl, closing it, and hiding everything once more. He looked up to her face, and saw the lizard. ~So that is what she is crunching on.~
Making a quick handsign, the tail of the lizard started flaming in black fire. This fire looked like that who resurrected the fallen, and thus she might lose her mind thinking the lizard would come back alive and start clawing at the inner part of her mouth. Her robe would be tight, and thus if she took a deep breath, it would pinch around her. Looking down again, he made the handsigns he needed, which was roughly every single one known to a student or priest of Kagutsuchi, and a small serpent of flame came into his hand. He dropped it into the girls food, and it all started burning. If she tried to grab it, the thing would claw at her, burning her hand. If she dropped the bowl, the thing would walk to each cooked lizard and burn it up. Basically, her punishment was loss of food. The cook who saw it understood, and informed the others that the girl was to get no more food for this meal time.
Studying the girl more though, he recognized the face slightly. She was the star student of Izanami. Smirking at her, he got up without saying anything, and walked back to the chefs, getting a bit more meat to eat this time. He put it in a bowl now, and held it in a flaming hand, walking back to the girl, and sat down again. She would obviously be hungry now, and desire food, but if she wanted anything, she would actually have to have respect this time in asking for it. She needed to learn, even if she was one of the greatest of Izanami's pupils. Marec may not be one of their priests, but that didn't mean he couldn't teach one of their students.

Oh, such discomfort. Honestly! It was bad enough she had to wear the damn thing to be proper, if she had her way she would have ran about the shrine naked, free as the beasts that surrounded them! But, alas, she could only wish - she knew it would never come true. Even so that didn't mean the high priest had the to right to close her up in such a manner! She wasn't exposing anything but her shoulders!
She stared blankly at the flame as it lit the lizard in her mouth at the tail, but she was as calm as ever. Oh, so very calm. Calm enough to allow her lips to be pursed, pressure to gather behind them and the lizard which was slowly being brought back to life, and that pressure was soon released, sending that lizard at the priest of Kagutsuchi, together with an almost undetectable spray of saliva.
Needless to say, the heated bench went ignored. After all, a warm bum wasn't something to complain about!
It was when that dragon was released onto her food she was losing what little cool she had. Instatly that bowl was turned upside down throwing that flaming dragon to the ground. The lass, she was fast. A hand quickly swiped what good fried lizards that were left, and slammed that bowl down onto the dragon of flames.
She was a lass of no respect, but oh was she smart. If she was successful in trapping the dragon of flames it would quickly die without any air to aid in it's burning. Simple science to bring about magic deconstruction. He smirked right back at the priest of Kagutsuchi as he left to get more meat. Unlike he, she was no glutton. If she had no food, she had no food. It wouldn't kill her.
And in the end, she had food for the moment. The lizards she managed to snatch from the air. Even if he was the high priest of Kagutsuchi, that didn't mean he had the right to look down on her. That much was more than obvious.
Finally, she relaxed herself once more as she straightened out her robe once more, in the sense that it fell about her shoulders once more. She turned herself around on the bench she sat on so that her posture would allow her to lean back against the table section. She lifted a lizard to her lips, and proceeded to crunch away again as the bones were broken again, and again.
"You know, you're so young but you act like an old man. I think I'm going to call you 'old man' from now on." she stated simply, mockingly.

Marec simply laughed as he watched the bowl crack and melt. The flame creature jumped at the bowl, and went through it, burning a hole, which caused cracks to spread and the lizards to scatter on the ground once more. It sailed through the air, grabbing them as it went, burning them as well, and then sailed through the air once more, charring what it found. As to the lizard that had been spit at him? The flame was black, and the heat was being surpressed. When Marec had gotten up, and thus the thing was spat out, it was instantly consumed in a small inferno of fire, causing the spittle to evaporate as well.
"Have fun with that. I could heat up the air around your skin and make you look like an old woman. How would you like that?"
If the air around someone was heated long enough, skin could be reshaped. An old man could look like a very skinny thirty year old. Marec could simply make this girl look like an old maid, and then she would get barely any attention at all. That would defeat her pride completely. Her food was entirely gone now, and there was no chance of finding any more. The heat of the lizard allowed it to fly, sending it out in waves behind it causing propultion. It could melt objects, and thus she couldn't truly contain it. It destroyed the rest of her food, then simply disappeared, leaving ash in the place of everything she could have eaten. She had gotten one lizard back, but that was it. However, the girl would find it much worse to continue sitting here.
Underneath the bench, a row of fire had started, as on his way to the chef's, marec had made several handsigns. The bench would soon get as hot as normal fire, and then past it, to blue fire. Marec was keeping underneath him normal temperature, but where the girl was sitting would soon be scorching hot. Making another handsign, he sent flames dancing around her hair just for to see her reaction. They wouldn't burn just yet, but if she did nothing, they would start slowly. If she did react, and tried putting them out, they would burn her hands slightly, until she stopped and asked for them to be put out with respect. If she asked without properly addressing him, the flames would start going, slowly destroying her hair, and causing her further shame and uncomfort. Not many people would be as interested in her then.
Taking up some of his food, he brought it to his mouth and ate it. He hadn't eaten in three days, preparing for the student exam. He needed the control to be his sustenance, and the fire to be his life force. It was a test that drained priests, and took absolute control, because if the student failed at all, the body had to be consumed by the fire instantly, returning the power to Kagutsuchi with the dead soul. Luckily, Marec hadn't had to do that, and thus he retained his power, evidence showing what he was doing with the girl. He was losing his power doing it all though. The dragon was a simple skill, it just required preparation, hence all of the handsigns required.

The lizard she had in her mouth was quickly drawn in by an agile and flexible tongue as she chewed away. Hey, she wasn't that hungry so she made little effort to protect her little snack. She was just acting out of defiance now. She chewed away on the lizard in her mouth as she kept her posture, arms now extending across the table. For the moment she was oblivious to the slowly rising heat. She wasn't stupid, however, and he honestly couldn't expect her to remain there.
"They say the best women are the ones that have blossomed into maturity." she stated, that smirk still on her lips and her tongue whipping with wit. She was, after all, a strong woman of Izanami and she wasn't going to back down to any Man, especially one that acted in such a manner. If her face became wrinkled, that was fine. After all, she could always seek out the Shrine of the Heavens and ask one members of Izanagi's shrine to restore her face to it's former glory. Vanity was he pride, and she wouldn't allow it to be taken away so easily.
She glared at him when she felt the heat under her rump begin to rise, yet she didn't waver. No, not even when flames rose around her - she was a strong woman of Izanami and she would not bend to his will. She would not show the respect he wanted that she didn't get in the first place. She didn't have time for arrogant pricks unless she was putting them in their place.
And that wasn't too hard, even for people of the priest's rank.
She moved her body through the flames swiftly. She experienced nothing more than minor burns due to her quick movements. Fire, any MINOR pyromaniac knew that heat took time to rise, and if one moved swiftly through the flame damage was minor, if anything at all.
Hey hair? Nice, and well maintained.
Her palm came to land against the priest of Kagutsuchi's chest in nothing more than a light caress as she pushed him down onto his back. Oh, she was riled up now. She entered his space, knee planted firmly between his thighs and her own flesh not too far from his own form. Thise piercing, dangerous eyes never leaving his.
Men, were scum - especially like the d**k before her. Nothing more than a cheap thrill and pleasurable torture. She had no other uses for them, and thusly it could be concluded that she was having fun.
"Melt my face, old man. Distort it, and it can be fixed. But do you know what I can do?" she questioned, her voice low. Sultry, purring as her lips lowered to his ear. Full, plump even caressing the soft flesh of the male's ear. That hand upon his chest only increased in pressure slightly, almost unnoticably. Oh, but if she was going to go for brute force, she could have crushed his sternum in right there.
"I can give you a heart attack here, and now. I can make you die a slow, and painful death." After all, it was the students and priests of Izanami that wielded the magics of illness, sickness, making the mortal flesh weak and broken. Just to put emphasis upon that her finger tips began to press into the male's chest, working her charms, and adding pressure to his heart. For something so small, even an incantation was needed. It was almost as if she would be manipulating pressure points, although that was certainly not the case.
"Hell, if I wanted, I could give you prostate cancer. I just don't want to go there, Old Man. I'm not that kinky."

"Do it and you will be cast from this place, stripped of your power. You are not as great as you think you are."
Marec reached out to grab her wrist, and forcibly remove her hand from his body. Upon doing this, her arm would be jammed back by how he held her hand, and she would have to move backward, thus out of his space to avoid it being jammed. This however, would possibly cause her to react. His other hand was already making incantations. Even if his wrist grab missed, his flamecage wouldn't. No single person in here would actually willfully defy the Grand Priests will, and thus they would ignore the cage that was made. If she did anything to him, he could collapse it inward, causing the flaming bars to sear through skin, flesh, bone, and organs, killing her very quickly. Then he could have another of Izanami's students or priests remove the sickness.
This was another point in time in which certain people took notice. A priest of Izanami walked in, and say the star pupil verse the Grand Priest of Kagutsuchi. He knew exactly who could win in an instant if he wanted, seeing the order of the handsigns made. However he made no move, seeing as going against the Grand Priest would end up in reveange from others. Marec would later pardon the girl if she backed down now, making it go down as him teaching her humility. Everyone would ignore the incident then, and this thought made Marec grin. He controlled her future now. He could actually have her exiled from the place just for threatening, but he wondered about if he should. Izanami would then be vengeful against Kagutsuchi, and that might cause havoc, but it would settle.
"I suggest that you either yield, or show actual respect. If you do not know what I can do against you, then you are just blind. If you do, then you are a fool."
Noting her anger now, he noticed how she simply got calmer a bit, and acted then. She had gone from simple defiance, to actual threats against someone. That was an interesting gesture, and Marec once again toyed with the idea of playing against it, causing her to go into a rage while she tried to do things to the Grand Priest. It was then that he remembered that students didn't have as great control as priests did. Even if this girl was the star pupil, her god wouldn't allow her to harm the Grand Priest of another deity. It was simply forbidden, and her power would either backfire, or fail.
(One Question. What was your roll used for exactly?)

((The end result was discomfort in the heart. She was using a technique which essentially would have made him have a heart attack if I rolled a 20. I'm glad it hit six, though.
On another note: Those who follow Izanami don't have the power to actually remove the illness. They can only cast it, and from there the body gives in. If he wants to be healed he needs to visit the Shrine of the Heavens, and a priest or student of ********, are you kidding me?" oh, she was amused. She broke down into a fit of giggles, even as she held her sides. Cast from the Shrine of the Underworld, she could see that happening. But so long as she remained loyal to Izanami he had no power to control or limit her own powers. So, how much power did the priest have over her?
Absolutely none.
One hand was pinned down, but the other was free and that was a dangerous thing for someone who followed Izanami. For most of their spells, they only needed to use one hand and a body to inflict the illness upon. If the Grand Priest of Kagutsuchi didn't know that he was truly a lost cause, already gone senile.
She hissed in pain as her hand was pinned, none the less. However, his grip wasn't as strong as he would have wished. She tore her hand from his, needless to say causing a little blood to spill from his wrist as her pale flesh was torn against his finger nails. But, she was dangerous none the less.
Where had they gone wrong? Kagutsuchi and Izanami were blood, and yet right from the get go they didn't get along one bit.
"I know what you can do, but you have the horrible habit of looking down on students - don't you old man? Your power is a given, but do you know what I know?" she questioned, words carrying venom with them as she stared at him. She, even as a lowly student, could take his power away from him. The deities above had nothing to do with the fighting of mortals, whether or not it was in the shrine. They had more important things to do.
It was just him she had to be worried about, and a possible scolding from her own high priestess.
But he was a male, and garbe to her no matter what rank.
"Mistress Izanami, aid me with your chains and tie them around the body of my opponet." her lips motioned silently, quickly, yet flawlessly as her words came out as nothing more than mere hisses to the mortal ear. She spoke her incantation without stumble, and with skill. "Render my opponet useless, a slave to gravity!" the second verse was completed in just a split second as she lunged forth. "Steal his movement and paralyze him, a lowly follower begs you!"
Her arms, her body, just inches away from the bars of flames, yet regardless she still reached for him. More accurately, his shoulders. Even if she managed to place a finger tip on either one of his shoulders it would disrupt his hand-based technique and therefore destroy his spell.
Oh, but if she was successful he wouldn't be in pain. He would just have a very, very hard time moving useless arms. Certainly, the high priest of Kagutsuchi would have to pay a visit to the Shrine of the Heavens, and say how he was bested by a mere student. How shameful.

DarkChephros (Heh, conflicting actions it seems. The dice roll represents him moving to avoid the touch. Dodging should also be played on a dice roll actually, as people can move out of the way of certain things.) ((Yeah, however we didn't want to impliment it because then it would have made things too complicated. We wanted to give the users freedom to play certain things as they saw fit, thusly a single dice roll. Otherwise if he wanted to impliment dodging it would have been a double 20-sided-die roll so that things synched up perfectly. Anyway, due to that, said roll doesn't count. 3nodding ))

(No matter)
Marec simply watched as his arms fell uselessly to his side. The cell remained however, binding the lady in place where she was. Marec simply scooted back, out of range, then hopped up, using flames to extend his jump, and move slightly back, then was standing on the bench, before turning around and walking off, moving away from the lady. She was trapped, without any way to harm him at all. However, Marec had only been using his hand-sign spells. Priests were taught by other priests how to use the special abilities involving voice and spiritual things. Opening his mouth, a tongue made of flame came out, and started its chant. Riht-chath khel beldro. An entire clone, made of nothing but fire, came out of Marec. It was called a fire clone, and had all the power of the priests behind it, and only water or fire could combat it, seeing as it had no other physical aspects to it.
Using his mind, he controlled both the clone and his body. To make things easier, Marec had his priestly body sit down, and thus he wouldn't fall over. His arms were dead, but he shifted his body slightly to actually make them lock anyway behind him, keeping him slightly upright. The fire beast however was standing, and slowly walking towards the cage. He admired the girl for actually trying to stand against him, and the lack of respect. Despite what he had done, he had been looking for someone who showed the ability to disregard the chain of command completely. His flaming hand retained its heat so it wouldn't burn the girl, and he put a hand to her face, carressing her cheek slightly before sending a punch to the side of her head. The hit was like a small slap to the side of the head, as the fire clone wavered slightly. The cage was still pure, but for a moment, the clone had wavered, allowing the power to weaken.
Smirking through his flaming lips, his hissing voice was heard this time, to those who could hear it. Many had actually stopped and watched intently, as a fire clone was not an easy thing to do, and was harder even when already doing something. People were amazed at the power involved now. Students of Kagutsuchi were seeing what they might actually be able to do in the future, and other students were seeing what could happen if they went against their superiors.
"Ahh, this has been fun. Now I ask, will you show me a small measure of respect, or must I collapse this cage around you, killing you inside?"
