Tristan Derskald

PostPosted: Sat Sep 16, 2006 9:44 pm

Tristan gave a warm grin towards the other three there. Well, he thought it was one at least, but like everything else about him, the firelight seemed to give his normal air of eccentricity a unusually disturbing edge.

Looking about he finally declared :"Ti's a fine night for a bonfire, ne? What would yae say t' some tales ta start things off?" It was a rather odd thing to hear Tristan fluidly shift between a half dozen accents with such a short question. The whole feeling of the night seemed to be getting to him, urging him to make a truly magnificent preformance of the night, something to be remembered vividly years down the line.

Noticing the nervousness that both girls seemed to possess, though each for different reasons he added " 'might take the lasses' minds off whaet-'ver's bothrin' them"

Megan, smiled back to the strange man and listened with interest to his accent. That in itself bringing a bit more warmth to her smile, she had always enjoyed to listen to people speak with an accent, just because of the difference and uniquness that it brought to the language. She looked again to the fire and thought about what he had said. A story might not be a bad idea, something to take everyone mind off the day, something to take home and tell her friends on one of their road trips maybe.

She turned to the strange man and extended her arm offering her hand for a hand shake.

"Sure a story would prabably be nice about now, oh and by the way my names Megan."

Richard ignored the strange man for moment, mentally steeling him as Katina turned. A slip of the face might crush her. He studied her for a long moment, keeping his face neutral. A concerned smile cracked his expression as she started to turn away. While the face might have been found in a cheap horror show the eyes so full of emotion that her inhuman features seemed insigifigant by comparision. Richard wanted to hug the poor girl but it would be inapproperate so he gently touched her arm with two massive figures. "You are still yourself, same girl I met a couple days ago. A little fuzz doesn't change a thing."

Turning his attention to the ren fair reject and the other new comer, richard addressed them. "I don't believe I've had the pleasure of meeting either of you before. My name is Richard."

She wiped the tears away with her pawed hand and sighed. What Richard had said did comfort her some but she still felt like a monster, she will get back at the people who did this to her. The sadness in her eyes turned to hate as she thought about what they had done to her, they had taken away everything from her. She thought back to Chris and how happy she had felt around him, the to Jonathan. Jonathan, how would he react to her change?

The more she thought about it the more she just wanted to crawl into a corner and stay there for the rest of her life. Yet she knew that she couldn't do that, she knew that she had to deal with her changes one way or another. She decided to try and make the best of thing, so she stood up and walked over the other man and looked at him, she could see that he too was changed by this island." Hello, my name is Katina." She smiled a shy smile to him then turned to the girl and smiled at her too, she only hoped the girl would not be frightened by her appearance.

Rising slightly Tristan took the girl's offered hand into his own burned and bandaged grasp and shook it with the utmost delicacy and gentleness, as if he was somewhat affraid that he might harm it by simply doing so. "I'm sure I ken come up with something in'tresting for yae ta list'n to."

Upon hearing the 'greeting' from richard, in addition to megan and katrina's self introductions, he gave the man a nod and continued "I'd be Tristan DerSkald, at 'cher service" Accenting his own announcement with a tip of his hat

Waiting a moment as he sat back down for any responses from the three he then started to spin a tale for all to hear, his accent remaining constant only to indicate the different characters of his story.

Richard saw the Katina was still very upset but he hoped he had help her some. Nothing was going to make this right or easy to deal with. At moment the only option Richard was to patient and wait for their captors to make a mistake.

Nothing could be done about it now at the very least. The stranger, Tristan seemed to fancy himself an entertainer. Richard let him wind his tail, hopefully it would take the young people's minds off there troubles for a while. If not, well, a bad actor could be just as entertaining as a good one sometimes. As for himself, he wasn't going to sit down in the dirt and get his suit filthy. He walk over to area Tristan had exits from and started looking for a log or something he could drag back to the fire.

She sat down again and warmed her hands by the fire. She notices Richard go somewhere, where did he go? Did she scare him off? She sighed and looked back to the fire and listened to Tristan's story, the man had a very interesting accent. She eventually let her mind wander, did her family miss her? She knew that she could never go home again but what would her family think? Would they try and look for me, would the even care?

((Not too late to join is it?))

~Glacus at 25%~

Glacus was on his way home from the infirmary; he had been there for several days, since the bull shark attack. His left arm was still healing, though his spines were beginning to fray the wrappings off. He was at his doorstep, when he saw it, a pale reddish light, through the trees. For some reason, he sought to find it. As he neared the beach, very close to they were he was attacked, he saw four people, two ladies and two men. One of the ladiess and one of the men were already beginning to change, but the other two were not.

He stood at a great distance from them, but he began to get cold, he was incapable of wearing shirts sine his spin had changed, so he hoped they wouldn’t reject him. So he calmly said, “Hello” as he walked slowly towards the fire pit.

(Casey Mae: 0%; on the day she found out the truth about the island...)

The world was silent, it seemed, except for the hollow guitar chords wayfaring from Casey’s dorm. Casey sat on the bed, absentmindedly strumming a melancholy song. Her eyes were puffy and her face was stained by tears and makeup. She sang along in the dark, her voice cracked and horse. Her thoughts were on other matters, lost deep within’ mind’s abyss.

The sun had set for the most part, the remaining light portraying dark lavenders and midnight-periwinkles upon the sky. A warm glow presented itself in the darkness, hidden deep amongst the thick foliage. Quietly the song died out, and the heavy feeling of impending despair shrouded the room like mist. Casey turned her gaze to the ember glow, watching it for several minutes.

She stood up carefully and put on her gray hoodie, walking out of the duplex and into the darkness. Cold air teased the bare flesh of her face, refreshing in the bitter cold. She made her way down the dark path which slowly faded into the dense tropical forest. Her footsteps were considerably quiet, occasionally snapping a twig or rubbing against the underbrush.

The thicket soon thinned, etching itself into a small clearing. A large bonfire crackled in the clearing ahead and several figures sat around it, but silhouettes in the dim lighting. She hesitated. They were all condemned the same fate. Each and every one of them doomed to a life of mental and physical scarring. Casey shifted weight uncomfortably.

The nights grew colder as autumn drew near, and the leaves were beginning to change color under natures will. The moon was full, hidden behind the transparent loom of passing clouds. Slowly Casey made her way from behind the cover of the trees. She sat down wordlessly next to Katrina and she positioned her guitar in a comfortable position. Warmth spread down her body and the light danced solemnly across her face as she listened meekly to Tristan’s tale.

Richard stumbled around the edge of the jungle long enough for Tristain to finishes his first tall tale before he found what he was looking for. Found was of course being generous as stumbled into it, banging up his shin and ripping his pants in the process.

Richard bit on his lip to avoid uttering the string of curses that whipped through his brain. Then he looked at his quarry, the trunk of a fallen tree, leaning over the touch it the bark felt dry, not rotted. It was perfect, a litt;e big, about 20 feet long but Richard was sure he could handle it.

Tucking his can under his arm he bent over and heaved. It was really heavy but the old man was determined now. He dug in his heels and pulled with all his might and the log became to move, his back protesting as he dragged it back to the clearing. He mentally noted that advil would be on the menu tommorrow morning.

Several sweaty minutes later Richard had almost pulled the log into the clearing and could see the figures around the fire. He wiped his brow, it had taken far more effort than he had expected and he was panting heavily. He waved at the figures by the fire. "Hey!" he called. "How about some of you abled bodied youngests come help an old man move a heavy object so were not sitting on the ground."

After hearing a somewhat of a call for help, Glacus found the old man ranting about wanting help, and kids today. Hoping not get weird looks because of his changes.

"Need some help?" he ventured He looked down at the log and got the message.

((Alys is at 25%. She may or may not change, I haven't decided. xd Squiddy ahoy! xp ))

Peace and quiet once again. It seemed with every day that passed, she was seeing less and less of this. Why was there so much drama in this place? The answer was simple, yet she wasn't convinced that was the only reason. With a sigh, she walked through the forestation; bare foot, in a black singlet and tight fitting black denim capris.

She was rather contently eating another fish fillette while thinking, trying to make sense of the chaos that invaded her mind once again.

(This next post refers to the starbucks role-play. This is presuming that they finished a lovely conversation and parted their separate ways.)

"Hey! How about some of you abled bodied youngests come help an old man move a heavy object so we’re not sitting on the ground."

Casey flinched, startled. She quickly set her guitar carefully on the ground and jumped up to help the old man. She grabbed the side opposite from Richard, heaving the log the best she could. She looked up, her eyes catching on his face. The old man had a familiar expression, something she couldn’t quite put her finger on.

As the group heaved nearer the bonfire, the lighting improved slightly. Casey cocked her head in curiosity, trying to get a good view of his face. “… Have we met somewhere before?” Curiosity was gnawing at her from inside.

When the three of them finally set the log down, Glacus turned to the who had helped them and asked, "My name's Glacus, What's yours?".

He wasn't sure if she had even heard him, as her face was staring reminiscently at the older man.

It wasn't like the ex-pilot couldn't see the bonfire from his duplex. If anything, it just screamed 'Come Look At Me'. And so he did, leaving his sunglasses in the room, but he did grab his coat, slipping it on.

Alexander had changed a bit since he first arrived, although the only thing that probably seemed more out of place with him at first glance were the growth of feathers from his hair and on his body in spots. He tried not to think about it much though. That didn't mean that was all, like the fact that his hand had started to lose fingers, as they started to grow together some. He hadn't lost all of them, but they were there.

Walking down towards the bonfire, Alexander looked over, spotting a familiar face. He waved his changed hand to Alys, "Hey", he said to her although as he looked over towards her, he guessed she was thinking since she seemed to not be paying attention to much. "You going to see whats going on down at the bonfire?", he asks her.
