dirty hippie theyre not that good, black sabbath is better... Nah. Black Sabbath were talented, but they were never as progressive, innovative, or influential as Pink Floyd was.

I grew up with my parents listening to pink floyd; Dark Side of the Moon was the first C.D. I bought. I liked Animals best, though. it is a very progressive album, and fairly strange to boot. yeah, I sport pink floyd cloths, most are pretty beat to death now, like the Dark Side of the Moon t-shirt I wore for a few weeks straight gonk

Massmurdajohn How many of you have played dark side and watched the Wizard of Oz at the same time?...it works and is awesome! No, it doesn't. It only feels like ti does because you're stoned. Try it sober and really doesn't work the same way. The Wizard of Oz is a two hour movie, Dark Side is only 42 minutes long.

phriedphishphan Massmurdajohn How many of you have played dark side and watched the Wizard of Oz at the same time?...it works and is awesome! No, it doesn't. It only feels like ti does because you're stoned. Try it sober and really doesn't work the same way. The Wizard of Oz is a two hour movie, Dark Side is only 42 minutes long. I've done it, and it does work, as long as you match it up correctly, and I was not stoned. (: People walk to the beat of the music at times, some of the explosions have their colors named, the lion roars to somebody's laughter. It becomes color right at the "cha-ching!" of the money song. Other bits and pieces line up. You have to put Dark Side on repeat and it goes through the entire movie. I think its at the third roar of the lion that you start the music, but don't take my word for it. Starting it at the wrong time or having it mislaligned to the movie are common mistakes. The movie should be muted. A burned CD will not work because of the pauses inbetween tracks. And so on and so forth. (: <3

Couldn't have said it better myself. Of the old bands, Pink Floyd has the most creative lyrics, sound, and psychological effect. The overall feeling inspired in the listener while listening to The Wall is a perfect example. That's why Pink Floyd was in the top-200 album list for Bulletin magazine for like fifteen years, if I'm not mistaken. Pink Floyd is awesome. Period.

ToxicHobbit I grew up with my parents listening to pink floyd; Dark Side of the Moon was the first C.D. I bought. I grew up with my parents listening to excellent 70s and 80s rock, so I find I have a hard time getting into anything else. Pink Floyd is my favorite band; Dark Side of the Moon was the first CD I bought. I also have Wish You Were Here and The Wall. I haven't really heard any other albums, but I'd love to get to know each and every one. It's hard to decide on a favorite... they all have their own differences to love and enjoy. 3nodding heart (Yeah, my Dark Side of the Moon shirt is already fading and has a few stains on it too. stressed )

phriedphishphan Has anyone else heard about the concert Pink Floyd is doing? Roger Waters and David Gilmour are getting back together. biggrin Yeah, that was Live8 in London on July 2nd, a concert meant to raise money for Africa before the G8 summit. I think it's great that the band members could put aside their differences for the benefit of needy people. biggrin
