Hi everyone. I started playing back when 7th edition was released. I first started with the Armada deck. Then slowly bought new cards but I never hand any funds to buy them. So if I did I was lucky. I go on and off with the game. Usually long breaks like a year. The last set I left on was the 5th dawn set and I came back recently to the game when I saw this guild. biggrin

Name's Ingram, I've been playing for long enough to miss the old days. I started playing at the tail end of Alliances, took a break after Apocalypse, sort returned during Mirrodin block(worst block ever). After that debacle of a set finished up the second worst set I've ever seen was released. Luckly they did ok with Ravnica or I might have left for good. Needless to say, I love Timespiral. Anywho I haven't played to much on the tourny scene lately, but back in my heyday I was quite the player. I'd still call myself pretty good. I'm deeply into the story, characters and all the fluff of Magic, so I'm so happy they are returning back home. I just hope they stay there.

Really with out a plot that goes over the game it really seems less like a whole to me.So I think this is just going to be an ok block followed by more of this drek they've been spewing out these last few years.

Still, I think with Timespiral being in Type 2 for nearly 2 years, it won't be too bad. I also think they are starting to realise how many older players haven't been playing, so now they're trying to bring us back.

I started playing at university when some guy taught me but I stop then when into in a shop that was selling the card and the Shop assissant got me playing correctly and i started playing in the local tournment. My fav Colour was white so she build a white/green beat down deck with phantoms and serra's embrace and other cool things. But now i have progress to building my own deck with a couple of peoples help that are in this guild and winning prize at limited (i used to really suck at it)

I've been playing for about 7 years now and have become one of the best players in my town, only beaten out by a handfull of people that have been playing for alot longer than me.
My first deck was a rainbow deck given to me by a friend for my birthday. It was an incredibly horrible deck with no strategy to it and I dismantled it almost immediately and used parts of it to create my first personal deck. I was a white and green deck that focused on healing, damage prevention and pumping up my creatures. This deck was my first attempt at a multilayered deck and it took me to the final round of the first tournament that I ever played, but I was quickly beaten by a veteran player that was probably the best player there.
Over the years, I've gone through numerous playing styles and color and type preferances. I've played using pretty much every color's main strategies, although until recently I've mostly played using black. For several years straight I used a zombie deck that I constantly tweaked slightly in order to combat new sets when they came out. My favorite deck that I ever built would have to black direct damage deck that I built in my sophomore year of high school. It only had a couple of creatures in it and the rest was land, instants and sorceries. It did quite well until everyone started adjusting their decks to conpensate. Although it was fun to use, I found that it wasn't as flexible as I wanted, so I went to zombies.
Now, I use two main decks in my everyday gaming: my old (and rapidly becoming less effective) zombie deck and my slightly antiquated (though still potent) samurai/kitsune deck. I haven't ever played in an official tournament, but have played in a few amatuer tournaments and I usually do very well. My firends and I don't build tournament legal decks as we find tournament rules to be too restricting to our playing styles, so I probably won't participate in any online guild tournaments that require a tournament legal deck, but once I figure out Magic Workstation I'll be happy to play in non-official rules tournaments and in one-on-one games.

Hi all, I started this year. sweatdrop I was 'introduced' to Magic when some of my friends began playing in school. I occasionally watched them, and eventually I started, though from Ravinica. I soon based myself on Black/Green decks, adding bits of some color to experiment. Now, I play a Black/Red/Green deck. I might buy Time Spiral, sinces its coming to my local store tommorrow. My goal is to have a Surprise/Death deck.

Huh... a MtG guild... Why didn't I think of joining one of these? nevermind...
I'm Teifling, I've been playing Magic since the summer of 1997 when my subscription to Electronic Gaming Monthly sent me a Portal starter box.
I'm fairly laid back, not too big with the tournament thing, but rather a casual "For fun and Strategy" kind of player.
I like to play many different things, but my first and forever love is the Slivers. When I openned my first pack of Tempest and pulled Heart and Barbed Sliver out of the same pack, it was love at first sight.
I like teaching people how to play, though I'm far better in person than over the Timmy. My younger brother is the best rival I could ever have asked for. I'm a "Lets see how this works" player and he's a "How quickly can I smash it" kind, so we make for an interesting game. (roughly, our win/loss to eachother is even... give or take). biggrin
Saturday, I'm going to splurg between $60 and $100 on TimeSpiral, just because of A) Slivers! and B) I need to do something nice for myself... I've been really stressed lately.

I know just out of memory that I have at least one of each of the Rath Slivers except I don't have Barbed anymore (I hate thieves) or Mindwhip. I have 2 or more copies of the Otarian ones, and I'm going to begin work on the TimeSpiral ones. 3nodding

I've pulled out my old Essence Slivers for trade cos there's a whole bunch of people who seem to love them now... Mephisto_fred, Carisell, Zelznic and I recently pulled at least 2 (but mostly 4) of each of the new slivers at our local TimeSpiral Sneak Peek tournament. I think we'll be making a Sliver deck very soon...

Very nice. I'm going to have to try to find another copy or two of Brood and Magma now that there's one that grants Two-Headed and Doublestrike... the power... the power!
