"I suppose I should make sure you're not trying to walk somewhere when I'm dressing from now on." There was a bit of amusement in his tone. As well as a slight coloring to his face. He was far from body shy, but knowing that Elle was watching him to that degree was..... flattering.

Sonata treated the young woman to a breif, sleepy glare. "Just give her a good rub behind the ears and she'll forgive you."

This time Lonan was treated to the glare for spreading a secret. Not like the glare mattered to him at all.

Pulling his satchel over his shoulder and putting a knife at his hip for cuttings he waited patiently for Elle to finish up.

Lonan had the decency to blush at Elle's play on words. Just a little bit. He idly wondered if there was something in the breakfast he'd served to make her like that.

Sonata gave a small rumble and a whuff to show she appretiated the gesture at least. If this was her bond's choice she'd probably have to get used to toes in the side. Note to self, sleep on the high ground.

Readily settling into place he left the door open for Sonata to come and go as she pleased and walked into the faint chill. Wings settled like a cloak around him as he started leading the way towards a particular path.

"This path is a favored one to find what I need. If we need to stray it will be no consequence." His voice was quiet and steady in the early morning mist. Almost melded to the point of vanishing in the wisps. His steps were light. Seemed as if Elle's good mood were catching.

A few bends down the path and he gently pulled her aside, pointing out a few small plants. "Here, these make a bright crimson. Watch." He plucked one of the weed's leaves. They looked dingy and dark. Lonan bent the leaf, causing it to split in the middle. Almost instantly the tips of his fingers were stained a brilliant hue of red. Along with the color came a sharp tang to the nose, almost metalic.

Taking a few of the plants and wrapping them in paper he tucked them into his stachel, ready to move on.

"You wouldn't want to eat these either. I went on a walk with Devmani a while back and he told me what hues each plant created and what other uses they had. This one can be boiled down to dye fabrics as well as dried for my pigments."

He heard the bird as well. "Odd. I thought we were too far from a marsh for a Redwinged Black bird. Look for a spot of bright red and black." Sure enough the bird was sitting on a branch nearby, watching the pair curiously. After a moment it flickered off again.

Lonan's eyes slipped closed, head tilting into the gentle touch. "But you did. That was what you called me and to that I will always answer you."

He was a bit surprised as the kiss to his cheek, but far from disappointed. "Don't tell me I'm encouraging an addict." The deadpan line was delivered flawlessly. His humor was showing again.

Leading further down the path he'd stop every now and again to point out a plant and tell what hue it made and how to extract it. The cool weather and warm company soothed him like little else could.

When he wasn't giving brief descriptions of the plants he was plucking he stayed by Elle in companionable silence.

"The scent of the air is starting to mimic your own. Though not quite as warm. And anything but apple would be greatly appretiated. Devmani has a slight addiction of his own."

Running water could be heard in the distance. Apparently the stream made a cut through the landscape nearby.

He couldn't help the slight color that rushed to his cheeks. She was the only one who was ever able to do that to him.

"Of course. If we go left slightly there's an easy embankment with a set of smooth stones to walk across. It's a little cold, but easily mangageable." Straight ahead of them the stream turned into more of a small gully, steep sides cloping down and cutting through the path.

Gently turning her he lead her off to the left, following the cut of the water. There 20 years ahead the bank smoothed out, level with the ground with a small path of stones from one side to the other.
