"Dadddyyy!" Mias voice rang out as the pair returned from their walk. It had always been a dream of Mahiris to have a cub that truly shared and appreciated his intelligence. Mahiri was a male of knowlege and facts, perhaps science. He was busy passing his knowlege onto his beautiful daughter.
He gave her a smile as she nuzzled him. "Thankyouuuu" She spoke so sweetly. Mahiri sighed happily. This was it, a new beginning, a new start.
He had eight cubs to care for now and he would do his job as a father. Wondering into the den he announced his presence and nuzzled Mia.
Frowning suddenly, he noticed a cub that wasnt his, an unfamilar smell and an adult lioness in the corner of the den. His ears suddenly perked, his fur on the back of his neck bristling.

Bakhti was shocked and in seconds had moved all the cubs behind her, she stood in front of them holding her ground.
"Who are you and what do you want?" She spoke calmly as she always did. She had no problem with strangers or their cubs but this lioness was strange. She smelt somewhat familiar but the two had never met, not once.
She and her daughter were somewhat confusing, both looked as if they could be her children and if it wasn't for one being an adult maybe she would have believed them to Kiburi's children.
Churo, on the other hand knew what she was doing.
"Oh Bakhti... how silly it is not to know your own sister... I am here to avenge my father and finish off your litter girl. You ruined fathers life." The snarl in her throat became louder and without moving much she tried to move Kwaruza.
Something however shocked Churo and in seconds she left and slashed, one of the cubs, the small male, white and brown had moved forward out of curiosity, it was a stupid mistake.
Claws slashed his face and the cry that the cub made started it now, the youngster was now blind.

Mahiris frown became heavier, his eyes narrowing to maroon slits. He didn't know this liones,s but he judged from Bakhtis reaction that her presence was not a good thing. As his mate moved in front of their litter, he did the same, his massive body blocking most of the cubs from view.
Wait? So this was Bakhtis sister? He snarled. Suddenly the lioness lashed out and caught him straight in the eyes. Mahiri moved foward with a sudden roar and pulled his son back, eyes blazing.
"How dare you!" His voice was extremely loud, and he continued to yell at the top of his voice. "How could you!?" Nearing Churo his large form had an advantage, but he was a male of knowlege, not fighting or even hunting. He'd never been in a fight in his whole life, but the anger he felt now was numbing him.
Suddenly, he leapt, unaware of his foolish actions all he could hear was the cry of his young son, echoing throughout his mind.
Mia squeaked, hiding behind her father. She could hear loud voices, and suddenly her brother let out a cry. She saw his blooded face and shuddered, crying out in disbelief. Her father pulled the cub back and leapt foward himself, the warmth from her side was gone. Nuzzling her now brother for comfort she looked on in half terror, half bewilderment.

Churo moved quickly, she was fighter where as Mahiri was not. She had her own children to protect so she moved to, her jaw locking on Mahiri's shoulder in an instant. She locked it there, refusing to move till she had caused this oaf enough pain.
Bakhti picked Mia up and moved her with the rest, she licked at the little boy till she saw what Churo had done to her mate.
"You aren't my sister, I don't have one!" She snarled and lunged. Bakhti wasn't known for fighting but she had been good once.
Her body hit Churo's throwing it to the otherside of the den. They landed in a pile which amazingly Churo recovered from quickest and soon had her teeth on Bakhti's side, her claws clawing from underneath Bakhti's body but now the two lioness were stuck.
Bakhti got a hold of Churo's paw which made her let go of Bakhti's neck and then they were up on their feet. The two were staring at each other for no longer then a few seconds before they lunged at each other.
Kwarua, who had started this watched in amazement as she walked backwards and forwards avoiding the two fighting lionesses. "Go mummy go!!!" She chuckled as she watched the blood bath in front of her.

This wasnt happening! Mahiri was torn between his cubs and his mate, and when Churo had bit hard into his shoulder he'd struggled, stupidly ripping out more of his own flesh.
His ivory fur was covered in blood and his shoulder injury meant he could put no pressure onto his shoulders. Snarling with pain he moved back to protect his cubs, watching the fight reluctantly. Every blow which hit Bakhti was a blow to himself.
He wanted to call out, but he knew his words would have no effect. Why was this stupid lioness suddenly showing up claiming to be Bakhtis sister. Why did she blind their son, tear up his shoulder and aim now for his mate.
He stood there, his shoulder oozing blood as it pooled about his paws, his wound throbbing. He felt useless and torn, feeling a small body of his daughter burying into his side.
Mia was utterly terrified. She had no real grasp of violence and what it meant, but she knew it was just wrong! Scared and shok up, she burying her head into her fathers side, refusing to watch anymore. Who was this lioness that was attacking Mommy? And why was she? She was near tears.

This was it, the two lionesses were parted again, Bakhti pounced at Churo and Churo ran underneath her before jumping and latching onto Bakhti's neck, this was it. Churo was about to win.
Kwaruza was getting a little too excited so much that she wasn't watching where she was heading. How hard is it to notice that you are amoungst eight other cubs!

Mahiri struggled, his shoulder refused to support his weight and he couldn't move fast enough, even if he gained sudden extraordinary power. This wasn't happening. Tears welled in his eyes. Why why!? He felt like killing Churo but she was beyond his reach.
He had to stay here and lok after the cubs. Despite the fact that Bakhti was nearing her death less than a few yards away from him. Sickened and realising his duties as a father, he looked to the cubs. The blinded boy, he must be terrified. Nearing his son he tried to block the view of the fight from most of the cubs, his stomach churning.
Mia let out a small cry as she saw her mother struggle to fight. "Please m-mommy." She started to choke, diguisted by the sight before her, so she turned away, buring her chocolate head into her fathers fur again, using his warm body for comfort.

Bakhti got free of Chruo's grasp again and turned to look at Mahiri however her sights fell on a cub, Churo's cub.
She went for the cub micking it up by its neck in her jaws. She would have never done this to a cub before but right now what choice did she have?
Churo stared, watching her daughters gasping, "You are as bad as father said, let go of my daughter!" She snarled, she couldn't do anything though or her daughter could be killed.
Bakhti stared at her dropping the cub but quickly moving so her paw and claws were in the cubs throat. "Leave us, whoever you may claim to be I had no sister and my father died so leave us be!" Bakhti kept her paw firmly on the cubs throat, however much she hated she would live with it, she had to for the sake of her own family and mate.
Churo watched and lowered her head. "Ok whatever just let my daughter go!" She waited, looking worried.
Bakhti was a cub lover so of course she let the youngster go. Kwaruza walked towards her mother, staggering a little as she went. She looked to her mother and they both turned to go outside.
Bakhti staggered after them, watching them go. She then turned to go back to her family, a mistake maybe?
Churo turned and leapt, her whole body knoocking Bakhti down flat, she got a hold on Bakhti's throat and as the golden lioness struggled and moved, Churo's grip on her was just tightened.
Kwaruza herd something, her ears pricked at a slight sound. "Mum!!! Somone is coming..." It could have been a rabbit or maybe it was a lion either way Churo was going to risk her daughter's life again, dropping the golden lioness to let her bleed to death Churo ran to Kwaruza, picked her up and ran off.
Bakhti was left, blood streaming out of her neck like a river and small streams of blood came from all over her body, the lioness had fought all she could but she wasn't that strong, she hadn't eaten properly and had given birth to cubs not that long before, now she was just there, bleeding, dieing.

((Remove said I could post with Kip ^^; ))
The small, now injured, white male squirmed around on the ground, his vision slowly fading from red to black. What happened? All he could see was the pugent color of his own blood casting around his eyes, and all he could hear was the sounds of roars, snarls and grunts from the elder lions. Crying out still from the pain of his eyes, the small male moved towards comfort.
The fight seemed over, yet his eyes still were surrounded in darkness. Blood mingled with his scent sense. "Mommy?" He cried out. "Daddy?" He sniffled, crawling on the ground, unaware of where he was moving. "Where are you?" He asked fearfully, his voice trying to hold back the pain he was feeling from the attack but it wasn't working to well.

No.
Everything was wrong, twisted and distorted.
It was like he was watching it from above, Bakhti grabbed the cub and then Churo pleaded with her, until she turned, giving Bakhti that final blow that looked to end her life.
He felt like he'd struck in the heart, the scene before his eyes arousing such emotions that had been forgotten since the death of his mother. He was hurt, torn and at war with himself.
Why had he not stepped in? He had tried that was true. Perhaps not hard enough. He couldn't move with this shoulder. All these thoughts flew through his mind in a matter of seconds. Suddenly he saw a small white male, and heard his troubled voice. Picking up his son, he put him gently by Mia.
It was silent, until realisation set in.
"Bakhti!" He roared, tears prickling at the corners of his maroon eyes.
First his daughter, now his love, his life.
She was dying, and he wouldn't be able to help her.
Mia was shocked, but hadn't seen the final scene. Tilting her head slightly her vision was aware of blood, alot of blood. Mommy was.. Lying on the floor? Scared and trembling the cub looked away again, feeling her brother beside her. She pleaded silently. Please let mommy be okay, please. Please...

Her brother; her golden saviour, had brought much joy into Kiburi's life and even after joining the Kusini lands Kib could not help but leave upon hearing the good news.
She hadn't been forgotten!
She was still loved!
She would of course return to the Kusini lands after her reunion to live with Uumi and his mate along with all of the other lions there. It was a happy place and not so crowded as the Pridelands. The truth was that even if Kib wanted to go back to Pridelands now she couldn't. Crowds scared her now, so much so that the smaller pride was a great comfort to her. Yet she could not stay there without being reunited with her father and her mother whom she had missed just as much as Mchele.
The smile on her face shone and despite the scars on her muzzle and shoulder she looked suddenly youthful again, as if all the worries in the world were gone.
"Mmmmmchele!" She chirped in the way she had as a cub, "a-are we almost there?" She bounced on her paws, trotting ahead a little only to stop and catch her breath. Her days had a slave had certainly worn her thin and for a moment she stood still, coughing before turning back to gaze at her brother. "I can't wait to s-see mum and dad a-again!"
It was then that her nostrils caught the scents of ones she recognised. Scents that she had dreamed of smelling for as long as she could remember. In fact the scent would usually be met with great joy but there was something else mingled amongst the familiarity.
A scent she knew all too well.
Blood...
Blood...
Blood!
Her heart felt like it had been crushed and her eyes widened, hackles rising not from anger but from a terrible dread that settled heavy in her stomach.
"Oh M-Mchele! Mchele!" Her eyes locked upon his friendly face and the horror in her expression was strong enough to strike fear and grief into the hearts who saw.
"M-Mchele something...s-something's wrong!" And she quickened her pace, silently praying that her senses were playing a cruel joke on her.

Mchele bounced alongside his sister, his dear sweet sister, who despite her scars and horrific treatment by the Firekin, was looking much like the playful cub he remembered from his childhood.
"Neeeearly" He purred back. "Imagine their surprise when they see you!" He was pleased as punch and he just knew their parents would be too. He'd never forgotten his sister and he knew Bakhti and Mahiri had never stopped thinking of her.
He was just thinking of the wonderful scene when a noise floated to his ears. A roar? It sounded like great dispair though... And as they paused Kib caught the scent that he was having a little trouble recognising, lion's blood. His eyes locked onto Kib's and took in her face of dread, quickly matching it as he picked up the familiar smell of his family mixed with that tinny tang of blood.
"Come on!" He urged and lunged ahead. Something was certainly wrong and they needed to get there fast!

There was no doubt that Mchele was faster than her but as she drew nearer the familiar shapes formed in the distance and she found that her weakness was forgotten. She was driven towards them by the pure instinct that if she didn't get there soon it would be too late!
The scent of blood drowned her senses, choking her and horrifying her, she wanted to breathe fresh air, not this!
Then she saw it, her father huddled over a lioness who's slate blue eyes Kiburi had inherited seemed to be losing light. She did not see the cubs that littered all around. Her heart stopped and she froze, her body trembling with grief. Kiburi did not feel anger, she felt guilt and fear intertwined.
She opened her maw to call out but the words froze in her throat and then the words struck her and they struck her hard.
Her mother was dying.
And with all her strength the young, battered lioness raised her head and called to them as she had always planned, though there was urgency in her voice.
"Mummy! Daddy!" Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes. "I'm back!" And if they looked up they would see their second child standing only a few meters away, her scent masked by the blood that filled the air with foreboding.

Bakhti's strength was going slowly, she could feel the blood leaving her wound and she could hear Mahiri sobing, her children sounding confused and upset but then a voice, one that came from the heavens...
"K..kib.." She coughed, some blood leaving her maw.
"Kiburi?" She couldn't move her head for fear that something else would start bleeding, her body was eavily marked and scared.
She blinked a few times but then if it was Kiburi she must be dreaming so maybe that was why she did make an effort to move. Mahiri with the eight cubs so wasn't in the way, she moved very slowly but she got the front of her body up, one of her back legs wasn't moving, it must have been broken but she didn't care.
She turned by shuffling somewhat, it took even longer for her to actually raise her head but as she did her front legs gave way and she dropped to the ground but here she could see.
"Kib? Mchele?" She coughed between each word, more blood coming up from somewhere inside her body.
"Dreaming..." She coughed again.
"Must be..." She did yet again cough but this time she stopped, she rested and let her eyes close, dreams were good, always good.

Mchele raced ahead, aware Kib was behind him following, but as they came closer she sprinted ahead with a burst od speed. What was it? What had she seen? He looked up, squinting to focus on the figures ahead as he bounded along. But then he realised and sped up as fast as he could after Kiburi.
He skidded to a halt near to where Kib now stood, sending up small clouds of dirt and dust. His mouth hung open and eyes wide with shock and horror. "Mother..." He barely noticed his father and the eight unfamiliar cubs with him. All he could see was blood... and his mother laying in it, her wounds adding to the growing pool. But it was getting hard to focus as his eyes grew blurry with welling up tears.
"Oh mother...." His voice trembled and in some instinctive way he knew she mustn't close her eyes and dream or that would be how she'd remain, forever dreaming. "You're not dreaming, look mother, look! It is Kib, and me, Mchele. She's come back, I found her.... she's come back to us."
