Mercurius Was that an attempt at saying "Merc's an a*****e"? If so, sure...I am.. That's why everyone seems to agree to just let it go. If you were trying to say "Mercs and assholes," way to be a b***h to everyone else. surprised lol. sure go for the typo shot. how eloquent of you. smile I kinda dig your evil Merc. I just didn't mean to trigger it this time is all.

Like there was anything evil about it? Just because I was the first person to say it, though everyone else obviously agrees. Also, my first post had absolutely nothing to do with you. It would've been made whether you had posted or not.

It has nothing to do with being able to handle it or not. You're being problamatic for the sake of being so at this point. It's not worth my time and effort to square off with you about it. There is no profit. I don't dislike you. You just don't rank high enough on my scale to worry about it. So I'm just gonna keep trying to side step these little quips... cause if I give in and meet you on your level... then the terrorists win... and all those people, not just in our country but all of them, will have died in vain.

Are we done with the petty bickering now?
I would like to express my feelings about this topic. 9/11 sucked and its hard NOT to forget what happened five years ago. There are enough reminders of 9/11 out there, and personally, I feel smothered by more being spoon fed down my throat by the media. Yes, it was a tragedy. Yes, it does deserve being observed. It also was five years ago. I also remember that only one year ago another tragedy happened that affected a much larger part of the population. Hurricane Katrina. Have you seen it on TV lately? I haven't. Now tell me what is more important, something terrible that happened five years ago or something terrible that we are still trying to recover from?

I'll tell you what's more important if you're gonna be a jerk about it. But I better censor it since I don't want to offend anyone for no reason. ninja :

Geez, and I thought I was moody - the worst on my first periodbloodgoop day. O_o
I guess when you lose a loved one in a terrorist attack, it's different. I'm sure even after 5 years, it still affects the victims' families. XP Edit: Oh, and I still see Hurricane Katrina stuff on tv. Just not as often. Plus I don't watch tv much so meh.

The difference between the Hurricane and the Tower crashes is noteable though.
The tower was an attack that the governement got wind of and failed to notify anyone of. That was just sad.
The hurricane was a force of nature that everyone saw coming and warned the residents about for a week a head of time. The people who died or lost things basically ignored those warnings because they had gotten warnings before and left only to have the coming storm fizzle. So they disregarded the warnings until it was too late.
Obviously that's an overview... some people just didn't have the means to leae. However I always say... if you buy a house on a hill, don't complain when it mudlsides. The same logic applies to fault lines and earthquakes as well as living below sea level with floods.
... So... how bout that local sports team?

True, I would say 99% of people didn't see 9/11 coming, but like Grypes said...everyone was warned about Katrina and chose to ignore it (for the most part) that's their own damn fault for staying there...now don't get me wrong if I were called I would willingly go down and help and I do feel sorry for the people that suffered, but only to a degree..hell we were even warned about Katrina up here in PA

I'm not looking at it in a 'were they warned or not' perspective. I am looking at it in a timeline perspective. I feel that Katrina is in a sense being glossed over in the minds of Americans that weren't greatly affected by it.

whether we realize it or not that event affected more americans than we even know... Much of our oil economy was down in that area. Did you notice how gas prices went up afterwards?
