"Oh poor baby," Christopher said in light hearted sarcasm in response to Glacus. "You'll live without a tan. I never understood the buzz behind getting tanned. Besides, your new skin coloration will be far more eye catching than a tan."
He then glanced back to Minna and jested, "You know you just asked the million dollar question. I have enough material to write a couple autobiographies with. Anyway, to try to make a long story short... I came from Troy, Michigan but use to originally live up in Croswell, Michigan. I was raised around the woods and loved it. I was an only child and I could sometimes be a handful for my parents. When I was younger, like 2 or 3, I was running out of the house to head for the woods.
"My parents took to calling me Little Wolfpup after a while due to this and because of my love for wolves, not to mention I use to have a lot of wolf related dreams. Anyway, we moved when I was 13. I wasn't too pleased about it at the time. I got through it, graduated, and went on to make an independent film and..."
Christopher froze up as memories of the making of the film came back to him and his mental institution period. He decided to excise that bit for now. He'd share it when he had gotten to know them all a little better. Last thing he needed was for them to think he was nuts.
"...and I travelled the film festival circuit for about a year and had some screenings of the film at colleges. By the way, the name of the film is A Moonlight Lullaby. As for my family life, it was good. My parents were very caring people who definitely respected me as I did them. Not much else to say there. So how about you two?"

"Ladies first" Glacus offered. He wasn't so sure he wanted to share, but he needed to, he was no longer part of that world.

"Wow. You like to make mo...err...films? Coolness. If you really want to know I'm from Memphis Tennesse. I'm the youngest of four kids, I've got three older brothers, and none of us get along, mainly because of my brothers constant teasing,"
The memories of Lawrence calling her fat brought back a bitter tase to her mouth.
"Nothing really happened in my highschool years to be honest with you. I got intrested in modeling mainly."

“My turn?” anxiety was building up he hadn’t even told the whole story to Chris yet. “Well I was born in Horsham, I’ve been an artist my whole life. And oddly enough I’ve always had an obsession with the sea, but I never thought I was going to be one of my drawings.” He forced a laugh; the others were seemingly listening intently.
“My family and I we were really close knit, we had huge family parties every single birth day I’ll never know how we didn’t go bankrupt. My sister Augusta and I were especially close… She and I fought every single year to make sure we went to Avon in the Outer Banks… I wonder if they’ll still go this August, without me…” Glacus’s eyes started welling, and he rubbed them, trying to beat past his memories.
“She gave me this, on my sixteenth birthday.” Glacus said taking his cross off his neck. And handed it to Chris. “It was supposed to give a good luck charm… we know that worked well. Read the back…”

As Minna told of her background, it also seemed like she was holding back a lot. Maybe he'd find out more if he made some inquires. "What made you get into modeling?"
Christopher was actually enthralled by Glacus's past. He could see they had a fairly similar background with close family bonds and that they both related to what they were becoming. Also, the fact that they both had trinkets/keepsakes that were reminders of better and dark times in their lives. However, Glacus's dark times were just now coming around the horizon. He hoped the young man would get through it better than he did.
When Glacus handed him the cross, Christopher flipped it over and read the inscription engraved on the back of it. When Christopher read it, he could feel a strength in the words even if he didn't know what they mean. This cross was evidence to Christopher just how strong Glacus's bond was to his sister and it made him come close to tearing up. "Servatis a pereculum, servatis a maleficum... This is latin isn't it? What's the saying translate to?"

"Save us From Danger, Save us From Evil. I always loved latin so my sister surpirsed me with it. It is also the 20th aniversery of the istic burning of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. It has a double meaning". he reflected for a minute. "Naturally this means alot to me."

"I know how that can be," Christopher acknowledged Glacus's words. "I have such an item myself that serves for multiple meanings and means a great deal to me. Remember that music box you saw back at my place? ...Inside it is a wolf's tail. That tail belonged to probably one of my best friends ever. Her name was Lyall and she was one of the wolves I worked with on my movie. After she died, I was given her tail. For me, it serves as reminder of my stong connection to wolves, some great memories of her, and my time in the asy..."
Christopher paused, panicking on the inside.
'Oh no...' Christopher's mind went into a state of panic and worry. 'How could I let that slip out?! Oh great... Now what am I going to do?"
Christopher was now frozen in place, not knowing how to react. It felt like all of time had just stopped and a light was being shined on him to put him right on the spot.
'Quick! Go for a save!' his mind hollered at him.
"...assignment I set out for myself which was the movie. Man, was that stressful."

" It must be nice to have a keepsake like that." She looked at the cross with a little wonderment.

Glacus was always good at reading poeple's countanences, "Chris is hiding something' he thought
"Yeah he said, its very special to me..." Glacus held out his hand, seeing that minna wanted to give it back now.

Minna ran her hands over the cross one last time before she gently laid it in his hands. "Hmmmm... my parents never gave me anything, we're not that close. I'm not anywhere near my brothers."

Trying to change the subject, Christopher asked again since his question wasn't answered before, "So Minna... How did your interest in modelling come about?"

Giving a light guffaw Minna looked at Chris and said,
"If you really want to know, it's because I used to be the 'fat kid' and once I got thin enough, I wanted to show my brothers what for, you know. And I figured modeling would be a real get their attention kinda way."

Glacus refastened the lock on his chain and put the cross back on. The metal of it felt oddly colder then usual on his bare chest.
"I never got made fun of my weight, but i can imagine it's awful." Glacus felt for her, she must have gone through a whole lot.

"I imagine that would be rather..." Christopher reached for air, unsure how to respond to Minna. "...Well, not a great environment to grow up in. But I guess if you want to look at it in an optimistic point of view, it definitely helped make you stronger. But still... I realize how sh**ty of an environment that can be."
He placed a hand on Minna's shoulder and rubbed it, practically using his leathery pawpads as a form of massage. "My little brother, Erik... Well, I call him my brother anyhow since he is like one to me. Anyway, he also had a pretty bad upbringing as far as family goes. I swear if I had meant any one of your brothers on Erik's side or your side, I would have kicked the p*ss out of them."
He tried to smile but wasn't sure if what he said was really smart. He looked at Glacus with a look in his eye that seemed to question him if he had just really messed up or not.

" Very valiant propsition dear heart, but its ok really. Getting made fun of sucks a**, but my brothers have it comin' anyway. Beau is on steroids, go figure, and Lawrence is gonna get a backwash of karma one day. Jackson is probably the best, he has a little girl, Rachel, I really love Rachel."
She leaned into Chris' half massage, hey, he was good at this.
