Parting their ways Jayoku left Gry with his little wethkin and started for home. She was now beggining to realize that the candy puffs were very...untrained.
They zipped around her head and bothered Chera who has by now resorted to hiding underneath Jayoku hair to get away from them.
When they got home Jayoku sat on the couch and let the little puffs go their ways. . .
Nyaaaaaaaaaa Chera cried. Why do these blasted things have to be here? She idly wondered what she could do about them. She had learned that not only could she make a single snow flake she could also make snowballs. She found this interesting and she yearned to try out more things.
Sneaking her way upstiars she moved into the bathroom and sat on the ledge of the bathtub. How exactly was she creating the snow anyway? She sat chewing on the bottom of her lip but then decided it didn't really matter. Concentrating Chera made a single snowflake appear before her she watched in awe as it floated down landed on the bottom of the tub and then melted.
Saddened by the death of the snowflake Chera tried to make more of them appear. a large thump alerted her that she made another snowball. Peering down she could see the lump of snow now in the shape of a dom slowly melting away.
Holding her breath she concentrated with all her might the cold from her body spread throughout the small room and when she heard no thump she opened her eyes slowly and found that there was a light snow fall happening in the bathroom. The snow flakes drifted downwards and one landed on Chera's face. Delighted by the cold she shook her head and watched the flakes all drift to the ground.
She learned she could make snow actually fall...not just a single snowflake but several at once! but as she marveled at this new fact the flakes started to dissapear and quickly no more snowflakes were falling.
Chera looked around. Not even a light layer of snow had fallen. the carpet though was a bit damp from where snowflakes had landed. Puffing up her little body she then concentrated until she was red in the face. Openeing her eyes she was delighted to find that it was snowing even harder!
. . . . . . .
Jayoku was working on homework when she finally noticed that Chera had dissapeared. The three gummy puffs exhuasted by the eventful day lay ina basket sleeping. Standing Jay moved about he house calling out for Chera wondering where her little one went.
Moving upstiars she shivered. Why was it so cold? As she reached the top of the stairs she caught a glimpse of white coming from the bathroom. Moving she stood gaping at the doorway. At least 1" of snow had layered the ground. Chera was dancing amoungst the falling flakes and when she noticed Jayoku she fle wover to her and nuzzeled her face.
Unable to get really angry Jayoku petted Chera and with a forced smile told her how wonderful it was that she was developing her powers. But now she had a new task...get riding enough of the snow so that when it melted it wouldn't cause water damage to the house. . .

Chera had been taught that she could keep developing her powers if she did it in the tub with the shower curtain drawn shut. It seemed a bit crowded and Chera had to wonder if she was closterfobic. But she focused on the task at hand. This time she was going to try and fill the entire tub full of snow. Thus far she had only been able to fill it about two inches deep. So Jayoku had stated that her goal should be to fill the bath tub with more and more snow each time she attempted it.
but it was tiring work she found she needed more sugar to keep herself going. Her sweet tooth was starting to drive Jayoku bonkers but she seemed able to put up with it.
Chera sat and then attempted to concentrate. Her eyes were closed as her body sent out an aura of cold. If she hummed she could make it snow faster and in bigger flakes. She wasn't exactly sure why but humming always seemed to make her attempts run more smoothly. With a determined smile Chera was proud of her accomplishments and each time she did try it was always better. and she was aslo having fun making large snowballs.

Chera opened her eyes and yawned, she felt different somehow. Looking down she....noticed something. Hands? She stared at the delicate fingers and moved it up to her face, she moved her fingers and was shocked to realize she was the one doing this. She reached up and touched her face and was pleasantly surprised to find facial features a mouth eyes and hair.
Sitting up she found her little wings were gone from her back, she wasn't sure how she was suppose to go anywhere. Looking down she noticed that though her upper body resembeled a humans she lower body was a glowing ball of purple. She touched it, her fingers feeling the softness of the orb under her
She wanted so very much to fly up towards the mirror and as sshe longed for flight she found herself floating upwards. Surprised but happy with this outcome she willed herself to float towards the bathroom countertop. There she saw herself for the first time. She reached up and touched the lengths of purple hair on her head and her little ear wings.
"Mamma!!!!" she shrieked as she realized she was technically naked, "MAMMA!!!!" she cried again. Using her hands to cover her chest she sped, awkwardly, out of the bathroom in searched of Jayoku.
Jayoku was downstairs washing dishes a mountain of bubbles in the sink indicated that she had added waaay too much soap. A sudden mushing of her cheek indicated something had hit her. But as she looked out of the corner of her eye she saw a mysterious figure. A little nymph child, skin and hair of purple and bright aqua eyes was using her hands to hug her cheek. Tears were frosting down her face as she buried her face in Jays cheek.
"Mamma!!" she cired out, Jay slowly took ahold of her towel and dried her hands she then reached up and scooped Chera into them. Her eyes darted over the form as Chera hugged Jay's thumb still crying.
"Chera?" she asked a bit hesitantly, she saw the nymph child sniffle and look up at her.
Chera's biggest fear was that Jay would no longer love her, that her change would result in Jay no longer paying any attention to her and giving all her love to the gummy puffs.
"Chera!" Jay excliamed excitedly. "you have evolved! you are so adorable!!!" she kept rambling over the cutness which was Chera and she could feel her doubt slowly fading away. She hugged her mothers thumb again for comfort and felt Jay's pointer finger gently stroke her hair.

Chera was soon getting accustomed to having limbs as it would be. It was certainly al ot easir to do most things, like turning hte page of a book or holding sweets. She seemed jsut as hungry as she ever was as she took a mouthful of cookie and chewed. Jay seemed to be more than overjoyed at Chera's new form and was even searching through old doll clothes for chera to wear. It was fun Chera got to play dress up for the first time ever, sliding her arms into sleek sleeves and twirling about in dresses. Chera though prefered to wear short tank tops, it covered her up and didn't cause her to overheat like crazy. She floated about as Jay seemed preoccupied with trying to find more doll clothes, and as much fun as that had been Chera was a bit tired of dressing and undressing.
So far the gumy puffs had left her pretty much alone, it was like they were afriad of her, she was now bigger and a lot different from what they looked like. But all the same it was the purple gummy that seemed the most depresed. Ever since Chera had evolved the puff had been moping around. WIth no wings to chew on it seemed really depressed over it.
Chera was thrilled to be finally left alone. Those puffs had been driving her bonkers. She was still eating her cookie when suddenly she felt something gooy lach onto par ot her head. With a shriek and flew around with ehr arms up i the air crying. "GET IT OFF ME GET IT OFF ME!" over and over. Apparantly the purple gummy puff jsut noticed her wings had moved to her head.

Chera was rubbing her eyes as she woke up, since her evolution she hadn't been practicing her magic very much. She knew this was a bad thing, so she snuck out of Jay's room and moved into the bathroom. Using her hands to clasp the shower curtian she drug it over so that snow wouldn't get everywhere.
Floating she moved over to the center of the tub and hovered just a little ways above the ground. Clasping her hands together, she had found she liked the feeling of her fingers intertwined together, it made her feel more human. She had stripped herself of her shirt as she felt more comfertable wearing nothing. True she felt special having Jay make and alter all these clothes for her ad sometimes she did enjoy wearing them but she found she was much more comfy wearing nothing at all.
Chera though had failed to notice the purple gummy puff watching her every move up on the shower head. Like a tiger stalking its prey it watched her everymove.
Chera humed to herself, a little song she had heard from a movie Jay had watched with her. It was so lighthearted she couldn't help but hum it. She could feel the imediate four inches of air around her cool down immensly. Pulling hte moisture from the air she gathered it together to form snow flake crystals. Her new goal was to try and make bigger snow flakes.
opening her eyes she broke her hand out in a gentle swooping gesture and with the tip of her finger acting like a paintbrush she drew with water in the air a line it froze and as she used her other hand to draw the other line she was soon dancing with her arms darting this way and that forming the lines of ice into a snowflake pattern. Finished she found it was just a bit smaller than her head. Its glistening surface reflected her image and she reached out to grab ahold of its edges. She was certainly getting better at this. She remembered the first time she attempted. the lines were crooked and the edges not very smooth. But this was was nearly perfect.
Examinging it she then released the snowflake and letit drift tot he bottom of the bathtub. Each snow flake took not very much energy but it certainly did take a while. Wiping imagincary sweat from her forhead she imitated Jay after a hard work out. "Yosh!" she giggeled and then stretched again suddenly she felt that all to familar gummy feeling of something wrapping itself around part of her head and her entire head wing.
She felt her body shiver from the feeling and with a shriek she reached up and yanked the purple gummy puff off of her head. The puff went fying into the shower curtain but was already up and heading straight for her again. Angry Chera summoned a snow ball and had it land on the snow puff. A large plop sound echoed within the confinds of the bathtub. THe little puff soulc be seen struggeling out from under the snow. Indignant Chera left the bath room and returned to Jays room.

Chera was on lady bug duty. She spied through the all grass for the bright red that indicated that there was a lady bug there. Her mother Jayoku was cutting the lawn today, and Chera wanted to help. Jayoku had told her that lady bugs were special and that she would feel terrible to kill one with a lawn mower. So Chera was now determined to save as many lady bugs as she could. She wore little ear muffs over her ears as the sound of the mower was defening. A spalsh of red caught her eye. There was one!
She flew over to it quickly and picked up the beetle. The first time she had seen one she thought they were a bit scary, it was pretty big and she had to use two hands to carry the bug. She then flew over to a plant and placed the lady bug on a leaf. "there you go." she said happily, the bug itself was now cleaning its antenna as dew formed on it. Chera was definately warm, she didn't like the feeling, but she increased her level of coldness to counteract it, unfortunately is made dew form when she came close to pretty much anything.
Turning she then spotting two dots of red. The whrrrr of the lawn mower indicated that it was turning around. With speed she flew towards on and grabbed it, but the other was in direct path of the mower. Unsure of what to do she placed the lady bug on her head and then hoped t would hang on. SHe zoomed towards the other bug and snatched it up before it got run over. The mower had hesitated since Jay had seen her little girl fly right in front of it It now connitued on its way. the bug was clinging to Chera's hair for dear life and as she placed the one in her hands onto a flower petal she felt the bug move around on her head. She giggeled, for the feet tickled her. Reaching up she plucked the lady bug off and placed it with the other one.
She smiled and went to the shade anpicke dupa peice of ice. It was dripping and she let a drop of water drop into her mouth before she refroze the cube again. She then turned and rushed back out towards the lawn. Scanning the grass was difficult, the blades seem to blend in together and sometimes she overlooked a particular bug. But she was being ever watchful like a hawk and soon scooped up another bug and moved it to safety. Then it got quiet Chera turned to see Jay stopping hte lawn mower and taking the collected grass in the bag and dumping it in a garbage can. Feeling pride she searched harder. she wouldn't let a single bug die on her watch. she was able to collec tperhaps three more lady bugs before Jay started the lawn mower again. But Chera was feeling drained, she was using a lot of energy flying back and forth and keeping the air around her cool enough that she wouldn't over heat.
Moving back towards the ice she drank more and refroze the cube again she then moved out and continued her search. After ten minutes chera was starting to feel dizzy, as she scooped up a lady bug and nearly fell into the grass instead of taking off she knew she need to go rest. Breathing heavily she placed the last lady bug on a branch and then having no more energy to move setteled on the branch as well. She used a hand to keep her balance but the world was spinning before her eyes.
A figure moved in front of her and she vaugely felt someone pick her up. It was when she felt the coolness surrond her that she was able to focus again. jay looked down at her witha worried look and used her forfinger nd thumb to pluck off the ear muffs. "Chera! thank goodness your okay." she siad as she rubbed the top of Chera's head. "Don't push yourself too hard hun, i don't want you to melt on me." she scorned and Chera smiled. "okay mamma." she said and nodded her head, "are you done?" she inquiered looking over to the mower. Jay nodded her head and then picke dup the tube of ice and carried it inside.
"for now.." she replied. "i want you to rest.."

Jayoku had traveled, a long way, mostly by car out into the vast expanse of forest. Chera sat perched on her mothers shoulder, looking at the trees in wonder. She had gone to parks before, but never a huge forest. The trees were massive and seemed to reaching for the sun. Chera peered around and tugged on a piece of her mother's hair. "Mama...what are we doing out here again?" she asked keeping her balance upon her shoulder. Jay looked to her and smiled. "We are going for a hike hun." Chera let out an ohhh sort of sound before becoming silent.
Chalda busied herself around her tree. Now that it had moved she could spend as much time as she liked here and never have to worry about her dad or step-mom. She had also managed to smuggle some of her old treasures out of the house again. She had her comfy bedding back and had even gotten some extra to make a comfy spot for her little egg. She spent most of her time holding the egg or telling it the stories that she liked to make up. It didn't tell her she was stupid or even make her stop like anyone else did. She was so much happier now that she had something to care about again. It wasn't like being back in the city with her friends but at least it was something.
Spotting something Chera tugged on a piece of hair again. "Mamma," she would start and then would point to a purple plant. "That is pretty! What is it?" Jayoku would stop to examine the flower, but her knowledge of flora and fauna was fairly sparse. "I believe it is called a shooting star. . ." she said slowly as the name drifted into her memory. Chera looked to it questioningly. "Shooting star? But it isn't moving!" she exclaimed looked at Jayoku with an expression of disbelief on her face. "Of course not hun. It is just a plant." Jay said with a bit of a laugh. But as they were moving Chera noticed a drifting pink petal. Floating off her mothers shoulder she snatched it from the air.
Chalda heard talking outside her tree. For a moment she was worried that she had been found again but as she listened she realized that the voices were not familiar. One sounded like an adult woman and the other like a small child. She peeked out one of the small holes that looked in that direction but couldn't see anything. She slowly angled herself out of her tree as quietly tried to peek around and see the mysterious visitors.
"Mama!" Chera called out as she floated back towards her mother holding the pink petal in her hand proudly. "It's pretty! What is it?" she asked looking the petal over and stroking it with one hand. "So soft. . ." she said Jayoku looked at the petal a bit confused. A cherry tree? In the forest? Looking around she spotted the tree not too far from them. She pointed in the direction and started over to it. "That's a cherry blossom tree hun?" she said a bit?confused. "What is a cherry tree doing all the way out here?" she muttered to herself.
As she looked around the tree she saw a woman walking towards her but she didn't see the child. She looked around further looking for the source of the other voice. Judging from the speech the child couldn't be younger then four or five but she couldn't see a child that age anywhere. It wasn't until she looked back at the woman that she noticed something else. It looked a bit like a child but only from the waist up. The rest was just a puff and the skin tone was a blue/purple. She blinked a few times but the figure remained.
Chera giggled, she was wearing a thin tank top her mom had found for her from one of the dolls she used to play with. It was pale blue and complimented her skin tone nicely. Chera looked up at the tree her eyes wide with amazement. As petals drifted down she squealed in delight. "It's like pink snow!" she exclaimed. And Jayoku laughed. "Yes but these ones don't melt." She said as she trekked her way closer. Chera zoomed ahead delighted by the sight before her eyes. Not watching where she was going she managed to fun right into Chalda's face.
Chalda screech as the strange creature zoomed towards her and smack her in the face. Trying to get it off she fell back onto the ground and pawed at her face.
Chera made her own sort of scream of fear, not expecting there to be a person there she managed to get her limbs untangled before she zoomed back towards her mother who was now jogging towards the pair. Sniffling Chera hid behind her mother's hair. Jay reached up a hand to pet Chera and calm her down while she kneeled on one knee and looked at the young girl. "It's okay. Don't be afraid."
Chalda looked up at the woman. She wasn't as old as she had expected her to be. Maybe early or mid 20s. She had kind eyes and a pretty face but she had learned that that didn't always mean something. Her step-mother wasn't bad to look at but her eyes were always cold. "What is that thing?" She managed to force out to the stranger. "And who are you? I don't recognize you from town."
Jayoku smiled and sat down so she was eye level with the girl. "My name is Jayoku. I don't live around here. I live in town, but probably further than you have been." she then reached up and plucked a still frightened nymph child from her hair. "This is Chera." Chera looked up at the little girl and wiped her tears from the corner of her eyes when she realized it was only a little girl. Not some monster she had run into. She smiled and gave a little wave to Chalda. She was a cute girl she observed. Chalda looked at the pair warily. This was still not a normal occurrence. But part of her felt bad for the little creature. She hadn't meant to scare it and make it cry. "Hi" She said slowly. "I'm sorry. Is she ok?" She gestured towards Chera.
Chera nodded her head and then floated out of her mothers hand and came closer to Chalda. "I am fine." she said with a smile she then gave a peace sign to the girl, Jay rolled her eyes. Her little girl had been watching too much sailor moon. Jay then looked back to the girl. "Are you out here all alone?" she asked curiously.
Worried Chalda looked around "Umm well... our house is just over there. They could hear me if I screamed!" She knew it was a lie but wasn't about to tell this stranger that she was hear all by herself. "So what is she anyway?" She reached out to Chera.
Chera reached out to touch her little girl's fingers with her hands, she was cool to the touch as if an aura of cold seem to come off of her. "Well she is called a wethkin." Jay started slowly as she then sat down on the ground to get more comfortable. Chera smiled and nodded her head enthused. "I am a snow wethkin!" she proclaimed proudly.
Chalda smiled at the wethkin. She couldn't help smile when it was such a cute and happy creature. "I guess that explains why you are cold then doesn't it." She looked at her closer and realized there was something familiar about her. Of course she had never seen anything like her before but there was something... As she looked closer she realized that it was the glow she recognized. That soft glow that reminded her of the night that she found her egg in the tree. If was a different colour but it felt the same. "What did she look like before?" Chalda asked cautiously. She didn't want to show the woman her egg in case she was going to take it away or something but she wondered if this might be something similar.
Jay thought about it for a moment though it was Chera who replied first. "I was a puff!" she said with glee. "A giant fat puff." Jayoku chimed in with a laugh. Chera looked to Jayoku and stuck her tongue out at her. "I was not fat!" she said angrily. She crossed her arms over her chest and pouted a bit. Jay smiled and then tilted her head. "She was an egg before that. A white egg with little now puffs surrounding it." she made a small shape with her hand to show the size of it. Not very big at all. "Really" Chalda asked as Jayoku described the egg. It really did sound a lot like her egg except for the snow part... "Where did you find the egg? And are there different kinds of these Wethkin things or is she the only one?"
Chera moved closer to Chalda and blew her a kiss before she moved up into the tree branches and played with the petals. "Well?" Jay started as she thought about it. "I found it when I went hiking in the snow last winter. And yes there are many types of wethkin. Ranging from snow, rain and even sun. I have only met a couple others though." she said with a nod of her head.
Chalda watched the little one moved toward the tree. She was worried about her finding her egg and all of her other treasures but she seemed more interested in the flower petals. She figured it would be ok. "So what was it like when you found the egg?" She asked as casually as she could in hopes of not raising suspicion.
Jay looked to Chalda with an impish smile. "Well if I remember correctly, I found the egg under a tree; it was glowing softly but not emitting any heat. I soon learned that I actually needed to keep the egg cold. Warmth was bad for a winter type of wethkin. Even now Chera has to be careful when it is hot outside." Chera was plucking petals from the air and collecting a whole arm full. She then moved over to Chalda and dropped the petals above her head. "Petal snow storm!" she exclaimed with a giggle.
Startled Chalda made a small screech again. She had been listening so closely to the story that she hadn't been paying attention to what the wethkin had been doing. As she realized what happened she began to laugh. "She's a bit of a brat isn't she?" She said with a smile on her face as she plucked petals out of her hair and flicked them at Chera landing one square in the face.
Chera removed the petal from her face and stuck out her tongue at Chalda. "Am not a brat!" she said as she pointed a finger at Chalda and a snow flake appeared and landed square on Chalda's nose. She laughed weirdly (picture Naga's laugh) "take that!" Jayoku shook her head and then laughed a bit embarrassed. "I probably shouldn't have introduced her to anime so early. Impressionable things..."
Snorting Chalda whipped off her face. "I take back the 'a bit' part." She muttered under her breath. "So what are you doing in this part of the forest anyway?" She asked Jayoku.
Making a pouty face she stuck her tongue out at Chalda again and then went to gather more petals. Jay giggled softly. "Well, Chera had never been to a real forest before. So I thought I would take her up here. Though I wasn't expecting someone to be here."
"Oh I'm sorry." Chalda said quickly. "I didn't realize that I was bothering you. I can go." She turned away. Of course this adult didn't want her around. None of the other ones did. Why would she want to play with a little girl? She had been so silly to think that maybe this could be a friend.
Chera threw more petals at the girl though now that she had turned around the petals ended up going I the girls face. Sweat dropping she zipped behind the tree and peered out. "No no! That isn't what I meant." Jayoku felt a bit stupid. "I just meant, this is a large forest. I didn't expect to run into someone." She said with a smile. "I do enjoy you company."
Skeptically Chalda turned back to her "Are you sure? I'm sure you just wanted to spend some time alone or would rather talk to some adults or something. Don't worry about it. I'm used to it." Chalda turned away again so that they woman wouldn't see the tears coming to her eyes. Of course she would cry in front of this mature lady. What a baby I am, she thought to herself. And of course that only made her want to cry harder.
Jayoku stood up and walked over to Chalda and placed a hand on her shoulder. "I don't like adults," she said with a nonchalant sort of way, "which is why I try to act like a kid more and more." She said as she released the girl's shoulders and then laid back into the grass looking up and the blossoms falling from the branches. "I don't want to grow up anymore than I already am?" she said softly. Chera hearing her mothers woeful sigh, floated from behind the tree and settled into the crook of her neck.
Chalda whipped the tears away and looked at the woman. "Why wouldn't you want to be an adult? No one tells you what to do or where to go. No one yells at you. You get to do what ever you want all the time. Being a kid is horrible. You never get to do anything you want to and you get yelled at and in trouble all the time."
Jayoku lay on the ground and breathed a sigh. "It always seems to look like that. Being an adult is nothing but trouble. Having to worry about money, relationships work. . ." she shook her head. "Wish I could go back to my carefree days. My family fought a lot, mostly between my sister and I, but I never let it get to me much." she said honestly Chera kissed her mother on the cheek.
Chalda sat down beside Jayoku. "How could you not let it bother you? I hate it when people are fighting. I can't stand it at all."
Jay nodded her head and then looked to the girl with a soft smile. "Perhaps that is the kind of person I am." she blinked and shook her head. "No it isn't that simple. When people fight I retreat into myself. Or find ways of blocking it out. Music has always been a good out let for myself." Chera petted Jayoku's cheek before moving over to Chalda and giving her a quick kiss on the nose before going up into the tree branches.
Chalda wiggled her nose after the kiss. That's usually why I come out here. It's better to be out here then listen to my dad and my step-mom fighting. They don't even seem to care if I'm around or not." She sighed and watched the little wethkin up in the tree.
Jay nodded her head and watched Chera a small smile lighting her face. "Which is why I don't want to become an adult. Adults are selfish. . ." she trailed off watching her little Chera shake a small twig that had only 1 or two flowers on it trying to get the petals to come down.
Chalda stood up and plucked the petals off and set them on Chera's head. "Better?" She said with a giggle. As she brushed her fingers against the little one again she knew that this must be something like her egg. She thought about it and tried to decide if she should tell Jayoku. Somehow she trusted Chera more. She wondered if she understood a secret or if she would be able to keep it from her master. She was still worried that she had come for another reason. What were the chances that she find this egg and only a few days later find such a wonderful creature. As her mind went back and forth as leaned towards Chera. "Do you understand a secret?" She quietly asked the little wethkin.
The little wethkin looked to Chalda and nodded her head. "A secret means you tell absolutely no one!" she said with a proud smile. Looking above Chalda's shoulder she says her mother seemed to be drifting asleep on the grass.
"May I show you a secret? And you have to promise not to tell anyone. Not even 'Mama'. Ok?"
Chera seemed to grasp that this was important. "Yes!" she said excitedly. She clapped her little hands together and nodded her head at the same time.
"Ok but you have to be quiet and not wake up Mama ok?" Chalda guided the creature into her hide out in the tree. "Do you know what this is?" She asked as she uncovered her treasured egg.
Chera looked to the egg and covered her mouth from the excited remark she was going to say. "That is a falling petals eggu." she said as she whispered into Chalda's ear quietly.
"So it's a wethkin egg? It will turn into one like you?" Chalda asked quietly? "Are you sure?"
Chera nodded her head and danced about gleefully. "I met one the other day! Its name was Toki! She was adorable." she said with quieted glee.
Worried again Chalda slowly asked "If I show your Mama is she going to take it away from me?"
Chera tilted her head and looked confused. "Why would mamma take it from you?" she asked curiously.
"She's an adult so she would think that I couldn't take care of it right or that I was too little to understand. Or maybe she would just want it..." Chalda said sadly.
Chera shook her head looking a bit stressed out. "Mama wouldn't do that! She has met lots of young people with eggus. She never took them." she said a pleading look.
"Were any of them young or were they all adults?" Chalda asked. She was slightly swayed but still skeptical.
Chera looked more stressed as she thought back to the numerous people she had met. "Some adults I guess. Some younger." she sniffled, and ran a hand under her nose.
Chalda suddenly realized how strongly this was affecting the little one. She scooped her up in her hands and nuzzled her against her face. "I'm sure your Mama is a very nice lady hun. I'm sorry I was saying not nice things about her. Adults usually aren't every nice to me and I don't want anything bad to happen to my egg." She released her and moved to climb out of her hiding spot worried that. Jayoku may have woken up and was looking for them.
Perhaps Jay was already awake, perhaps not but when she heard the whispering stop and movement she stretched as if she had just awoke. "Oh I am sorry. I must of dozed off." she said apologetically. Chera looked a bit upset but smiled and hugged her mother's ear.
"Oh it's no problem." Chalda said as casually as she could. "Chera and I were just talking." It wasn't really a lie. It was just an omission. She still couldn't be sure that she could trust this adult even after everything the little wethkin had told her.
With a yawn Jayoku stretched again and then reached inside of her coat pocket and pulled out a box of pocky. Strawberry pocky. Taking out a piece she broke it into smaller fragment for Chera to hold and eat. She then offered the box to Chalda. "I must be off, but before I go would you care for some pocky?"
Chalda looked at it a bit skeptically but if she was feeding it to her puff then it must be all right. "Sure." She said, and with a sudden surge of confidence she blurted out "Can you hold on for just a minute? I've got something I want to show you." She ducked into her tree.
Jayoku tilted her head and looked to Chera in surprise. Chera said nothing taking nibbles of her pocky instead of her normally large bites. She waited for the girl to come back down wondering what was going on.
Chalda brought back her egg and slowly opened her hands to Jayoku.
Jayoku smiled and then looked into the girls eyes. "Ah, so this is what is keeping this cherry tree blooming?" she said as she looked back into the tree. "You are lucky. I know you will take good care of it." she said as she nodded her head and then stood up. She groaned her back a bit sore. She then took out a card from her pocket and handed it to Chalda. "If you ever need anything, even just to talk here is my number and address." she said with a smile, the card was purple with a white rabbit on it. Chera smiled and then floated over and kissed the egg lightly. "Hatch soon!" she said gleefully her old spirit back.
Chalda looked back in awe. "Thank you" was all she could manage to whisper. So much had happened today. Her head was swimming with thoughts. She looked down at her egg and smiled. "Thank you" She breathed again.
Jayoku smiled and laughed. "Take care." she said as she turned and headed back into the forest. Chera gave a big wave and focusing really hard made a small snow fall with the pink blossoms. And then the two figures seemed to just melt into the forest surroundings.
Chalda smiled to herself again. She had made a friend finally plus she was going to have another friend when her egg hatched. Life was getting better slowly

Chalda Jayoku Pales
Jayoku tugged on Pales arm literally dragging him along through the forest at about a trotting speed. Chera was watching Toki to make sure the little puff didn't fall from the sky. "Now you have to be patient with her. . " she explained to Pales about the little girl whom she expected had issues with adults. "She has problems trusting adults, and considers us them. So just try and be...relaxed?" she said as she nodded her head and blew a piece of hair out of her eyes. "Mama!" Chera called from ahead of them. "Do you think her eggu hatched yet?" Jay shook her head. "No idea hun."
Pales sort of stumbled after blinking a bit, "Y...Yes ma'am. Will try my best." He was a little shocked when Jayoku appeared at his door step and pretty much told him they were going somewhere. He had Lieneke and Xai watched by a friend who he hoped wouldn't teach them anything bad. Toki just seemed unaware of what was going on other than being told to come along by Chera.
Chalda sat in her tree as usual just wasting time until her parents had gone to sleep. She was telling her egg a story about a prince and a princess that she had heard from her mom. The beautiful princess got locked away in a tower but the noble prince went to rescue her and they fell in love. She sighed as she thought about the story. No chance any noble prince would ever come to rescue her even when she grew up. She wasn't pretty or anything so it just wasn't going to happen.
Jay stopped suddenly and then looked to Pales. "You got all that?" She asked placed her hands on her hips and waited for Pales to respond. They were really close now, she knew it by the fact she could see pink blossoms spotting the ground here and there. Chera had swooped and picked up some blossoms and let them drift over Toki's head as she giggled.
Pales blinked staring at Jay a little wide eyed but nodded, "Got it. Promise. I won't do anything to upset her? Try not to anyhow? You know I don't meaningly make anyone upset?" Pales was getting nervous about just how to act, though he was trying not to show that. He took a deep breath and wore his best smile. Toki chyuued and let out a giggling sound of her own as the petals drifted about "Preeteee..." Toki chirped.
"Preeteee..." Chalda heard as she sat in her tree dreaming of the prince she was sure would never come. Intrigued by the noise she peeked out of her tree trying to find out where it came from. Didn't sound like your average bird.
Jayoku nodded her head and smiled. Placing a hand on Pales shoulder and squeezed it in a comforting way. "Just be yourself. I know you won't do anything to upset her on purpose." she said with a wave of her finger. She then winked and moved towards the tree. "Hello!" she called out as she waved towards the tree. Chera zoomed ahead and squeaked her own hello as well.
Well not one to be left alone, Toki tried to zoom along but it ended up being more of a putter. Staying just behind Chera by a good few inches. Pales nodded, keeping his smile, "Right." He stayed slightly behind Jayoku and just waited to be introduced. Should he treat her as an adult or treat her as a child...Probably more of an adult or would that be misread?
Seeing Chera fly towards her Chalda got read to surprise her. As she got close Chalda pounced. "Boo!" She yelled as she jumped out from behind the tree and showered Chera with petals. But to her surprise there was another little creature behind Chera. It looked less human though and more of a puff. What was it?
Chera let out a diminutive screech as she was covered in petals, as she was able to see again shook the petals out of her hair. "Heeeey!" she said as she tossed the very last petal to the ground. Jay smiled and waved to Chalda. "Hello again."
At first Toki almost ran away after Chalada pounced out, all wide eyed with fear. Though when the puff turned and saw Pales Toki kind of relaxed and seemed to become brave and turned to float toward Chalada and Chera, "Chyuusa?"
Jay looked to her watch and cried out in shock. "Drat! I forgot something in the car! I'll be right back!" she said as she turned and hurriedly rushed back through the forest. Chera seeing her mother fleeing the scene zoomed after her as well.
Chalda watched Jayoku run off and looked and the man she was left with. He was very attractive but now that she was alone with him she was pretty uncomfortable. She looked at the puff flying around him. "Is it yours?" She asked shyly.
Pales kind of nodded as he approached a bit though not too close so as to make her uncomfortable, "Hai. My name is Pales, and uhh..The puff is Toki." He kept his friendly smile and tried to stay relaxed. He was being himself, right?
"Hi I'm Chalda." She said a bit nicer. "Toki is very cute! What kind of wethkin is it?"
He nodded cautiously, "Nice to meet you Chalada. Toki is a Falling Petals wethkin?"
"Really?" She looked excited. "Did you find Toki in a tree like this one?" She gestured towards the large cherry tree.
He took a good look at the tree and then nodded, "Hai. I was listening to an old coot lecture me? Then I looked up and saw something sparkle and shine...Well?It attracted me and I had to see what it was...I uhh?Like sparkly and shiny things." He said with a small chuckle. Toki chirped, "Spahhklee.."
"Eek that's cute!" She poked her finger towards Toki. "Then I think that my Wethkin might be a Falling Petals too. I saw her egg glowing at night and it was all the way up at the very top of the tree. Would you like to see it? I found a little bag the other bag with some very sparkly dust in it and when I put it on the egg it started to sparkle even more. The bag disappeared though. I don't know what happened to it.
He seemed more relaxed and nodded, "I'd love to see it." He replied. He was expecting her to kick his shin or something.
Chalda ducked into the tree and gently picked up her egg in the flower petal nest she had created for it. After sweeping up some of the spilled sparkles she took it back out and showed it to the man.
He looked at it and smiled, "That is how Toki looked before Toki hatched." Pales commented. Toki peered at it too, "Chyuu?" Pales nodded a bit at Toki, "Yep. Only you were more of a pink color." Toki blinked "Peeenk..." She murbled.
"Wow really? So this will hatch into one like that?" She looked up at him with wide eyes. There was something really special about him. He was older of course but she was sure he wasn't too old for her... Her eyes began to sparkle as she stared up at him.
He seemed almost oblivious to the way she looked at him, that or he was totally innocent of that sort of thing, "Yep. I'm sure your little one'll be pretty too." He said cheerfully.
"I certainly hope so" She responded never taking her eyes off his face. And then as if pulled back into reality she stepped back. "I wanted to ask Jayoku but she ran off so fast. I don't need anything special to care for it do I? Special food? Something to help it hatch? I mean before Jayoku showed up I had no idea even what this was. Now I have to care of it and I have no idea how to do a good job. Maybe I should just give it to you now so that I don't mess up it's life." Her eyes started to fill with tears.
He shook his head, "No no. Keep it. You won't mess it up. Just keep the egg in a cool-warm place?Which outside it's been spring weather so your egg should be fine? When it hatches it eats pretty much normally?Mine prefers sugary things...They all seem to have their own preference."
"Oh" She said softly as she tried to stop her tears. "Well ok then. So yours will change into one like Jayoku's when it gets older? Is that how it works?"
"I think so." He nodded a bit, and smiled at her. "No worries, right? I am sure you'll be a wonderful guardian and teach it well." He was attempting to instill her with confidence.
"I hope so. My mom was really great but she isn't around anymore. I hope I can be a mom just like her to this little one." She said with a bit more of a smile on her face. She couldn't help but smile when he looked at her and smiled too. She pinched at bit of the sparkles that had collected around the base of her egg and sprinkled them over Toki.
Toki shimmered a bit and gave a giggle, "Chyuu. Spahkleee!" Pales gave a chuckle, "Very pretty." He grinned boyishly. "See? It doesn't take a whole lot to keep a little one happy."
Chalda made a small sigh as she saw him laugh and grin. Maybe this was her prince charming; he had come to rescue her from her terrible life! Finally her fairy tale was about to come true. She just stood and stared up at him. Despite the fact that she hadn't known him for very long any friend of Jayoku's must be a nice person. Suddenly a stray thought crossed her mind that made her insides twist a little. What if he and Jayoku were together? She was closer to his age and much prettier then her so obviously that would be what was going on. "Umm... you and Jayoku aren't... umm... well... umm... are you?" She said nervously.
He sort of blinked at. "Aren't what?" He pondered a moment. Toki blinked a bit. "Yo?You mean dating? N?No...We are just friends." he went deep red at that.
"Good!" She blurted out quickly and then turned red at her forwardness. "I mean Oh..." She looked back up at him again. He was so wonderful and he wasn't with Jayoku! This was probably the best day of her life... She continued to stare and almost dropped her egg while she did.
He was still blushing and he looked toward her egg, "Careful Chalada." He said nodding his head to the egg.
"Oops! How could I be so careless?" She ducked back into her tree and set the little egg safely on the shelf. "So tell me everything about Toki." She said staring up at him again. His voice was so musical. Every word was a symphony to her ears.
Toki perched upon his head and peered down at Chalada. Pales chuckled a bit, "Well what I learned about Toki so far is that Toki likes pretty things and loves to learn new things...Toki loves to explore and is very curious." He felt the puff perch upon his head and he didn't seem to mind, "Toki is kind of afraid of spiders and most other bugs though."
"Really? That's great. I'm a bit afraid of bugs too. What was it like when you found Toki? Or when Toki hatched?"
He thought about it, "When I found Toki it was like...I felt this love for the egg when I laid eyes on it...Like when a father sees his baby for the first time..."
Wow, she thought, He's sensitive to! She sighed "Please continue..."
"It was kinda like love at first sight...I have two adopted daughters back home too? Xai and Lieneke." He smiled when mentioning his children, "They both love Toki and help me with the care."
"Really? You have daughters?" Well this was something she didn't expect to here. At least they weren't really his children though. Just adopted. "Tell me more about them?" She questioned.
"Well Xai is a shy girl. Blue hair, aquatic-fin looking ears? She is very self conscious about them...Lieneke is very bright and outgoing. Cheerful all the time. Always finds joy and happiness in little things, I guess you could say she's vibrant."
"They sound really nice. How old are they?"
Pales thought a moment, "Xai is about 6 or 7 by the looks of it and Lee is about 8 or 9. They age different than humans do." He explained before he got questioned about the age. "They are both beautiful girls. Very smart too?Xai is learning how to read."
"Oh..." She said in a slightly mystified way. "Differently then humans? They aren't human?"
He shook his head, "Xai is a Xi-wang, came from a different world all together. Lee is a joy incarnate...Kuatalmot. He shrugged a bit, "I love them no matter what though."
A slightly stunned look formed on her face. "I didn't even know there were other worlds. I didn't even know there really was magic until I found this little Wethkin egg." Her head was spinning from this new information. "Didn't Jayoku say she forgot something in the car?" She blurted out "She's been gone and awful long time..."
He shrugged, "I am sure she'll be back soon." He nodded a bit.
"Yeah you are probably right." She started to dig her toe into the ground and tried to think of something else to ask.
Toki quietly bounced a bit on his head. Pales looked thoughtful, "What do you do for fun?"
Chalda thought quietly for a moment. "Well usually I just play here in my tree. Some times for a few days. There isn't really much else to do here."
There was a crashing sound and a few swear words that could be heard as Jayoku stumbled her way back towards the Cherry tree. She was holding a picnic basket in her arms and Chera was sitting on top of the basket holding on for dear life.
"Hi Jayoku!" Chalda fidgeted and looked a bit uncomfortable.
Jay waved with one hand as she scurried back over lugging the giant basket in her hands. "I forgot about the snacks." she said with a laugh and Chera clapped her hands together. "Cookies! Lots of cookies!" she exclaimed gleefully.
Pales blinked, though Toki seemed excited, "Cooookees!" Pales chuckled a bit, "Need help Jayoku?" He offered after her.
"That's ok Pales! I don't mind doing it!" Chalda snatched the basket away.
"No no. I am fine." she said with smile though the basket was taken from her Chera tipped over and fell out of the basket. "Eep!" she squeaked as she floated up quickly to avoid being crushed by feet. "Haha well then I have a helper." Jay said as she moved to sit beside Pales. "Why don't you serve the snacks?" she inquired Chalda.
"Sure!" Chalda was eager to please and prove how adult she was. She opened up the basket and tried to serve everything as eloquently as she could.
Pales smiles a bit and glanced at Jayoku, by proxy Toki looked at Jayoku as well, "She's a very nice hostess." He commented.
Chera took a cookie that was sitting on the top and hurried over to Toki. Perhaps the little wethkin would like cookies like she did. "Here." she said as she broke off a piece of chocolate chip cookie and offered it to Toki. "Try some it is really good." Jayoku shook her head. "You certainly have a sweet tooth. . ." she said with an almost exasperated sigh. "Well Chalda why don't you hand out the cupcakes while I serve the hot chocolate?"
"Alright!" Chalda jumped up and managed to knock over the thermos of hot chocolate as she did. "Oh my!! I'm so sorry!!" She ran into the tree and got a towel to clean things up. "I can't believe I did that. I've ruined the whole thing!" She babbled as her eyes began to fill with tears again.
Jayoku went to help Chalda and patted her on the back. "Accidents happen. It isn't the end of the world. Good things I packed some juice to drink as well." she said with a smile and went to fetch the juice.
Chalda sobbed quietly as she mopped up as much of the hot chocolate as she could. "I'm sorry Jayoku!" She said and looked at her again. "Would you like me to leave you too alone?"
Jayoku stopped pouring the juice and looked at Chalda strangely. "Why would we want to be alone? I brought Pales here to meet you silly." She said with a soft giggle as she watched Chera munch on her cookie like a little piggly.
"Oh right." Chalda said quietly as she stood and took the towel over to the base of the tree. She had once again proved how young and foolish she was. At this rate she would never get Pales to notice that she was really a woman. She decided to get her egg out again to show off her motherly skills. She walked back to the blanket and tried to entice Toki over to her with another bit of cookie.
Pales blinked and watched the commotion for some reason his mind was momentarily elsewhere. No matter. Toki chirped and ate part of the cookie Chera gave and then peered at the other being enticingly offered. Not one to turn a cookie down after the first taste Toki floated over, "Chryuu?"
Chalda smiled "Do you know 'please'?"
Toki blinked faintly, "Puhh-leese?"
"Aww! Alright little one!" Chalda handed over the piece of cookie. "So cute!"
Chera was munching on a cookie and watched Toki with a careful eye. She turned her head when she heard her mother speak. "Chere hun could you cool the juice down for me? it got too warm." Chera felt proud as she floated over to the glass and clapped her hands together and closed her eyes. There was a splat and Jay found snow balls had landed in the lemonade. She giggled softly. "Okay then who wants a lemonade slushie?"
Toki nabbed the piece gently and was pretty much nibbling on it much like a squirrel or hamster, "Cooohhkeeeees!" Pales gave a chuckle, "It seems I have a cookie lover on my hands." Toki blinked, "Luuuffferrr..." Pales nodded to Jayoku, "Slushie is fine." He gave a small laugh, "It seems quite ideal really."
"Yeah Jayoku. Slushie is just perfect for me too! So if Chera can do that can Toki do anything special or magical?" She directed the question at both of them.
Chera was slurping up some lemon ice on the corner of her mother's cup and she looked up. Wiping off her mouth she smiled. "Sure! I am not sure but I know that other weather wethkin have powers!" Jay shushed her little child as she wanted Pales to answer.
He blinked and shrugged a bit, "Toki is a couple of days old, and hasn't done anything just yet that I know of. Though that doesn't make Toki any less special." Toki blinked, "Pow...erz?"
"Ahh ok. I was just curious. I wonder if my little egg is going to do anything special. Of course she is special all by herself." Chalda looked at Toki and imagined her little one looking like that.
Chera puffed up a big and crossed her arms over he chest. "Well Chera wasn't able to do very much at first, but she learned slowly about her powers." she said with a bit of a laugh remembering the flooded bathroom a couple months before. "I am sure that your wethkin will have special powers too."
Pales nodded, "I am sure Toki'll do something wonderful?" Toki sort of bobbed in the air as if about to fall. Toki quickly floated onto Chalada's shoulder as Chalada was closer. "Phewww..." Toki chirped softly.
"Aww you are so cute little one!" Chalda rubbed the top of her head and gave her another chip of cookie. "How old is she now?"
Toki ate upon the chip once offered and sort of chirped at random, Pales took a moment, "2-3 days about. I called Jayoku as soon as it happened."
Jay nodded her head remembering the day. "She is adorable. So light and fluffy. She reminds me of Chera when she was a puff. Of course Chera wasn't warm as these two are." she said with a bit of a laugh. Chera squinted her face and stuck out her tongue. "I can't help it...' she retorted and then landed on Jay's head and snuggled into her hair.
Chalda let out a small laugh seeing Chera react that way. "You're a cuttie too Chera. I can't wait until I can really talk to my Mai and have her as a friend. I look forward to having some company."
Jay nodded her head and reached a hand up to stroke the side of Chera's cool face. She felt little arms wrap around her finger in a hug. She could only smile more. "How long have you had the egg?"
"It's been 8 days now. I never know if I should expect it to hatch or not because I don't know how long they are supposed to stay in there."
He shrugs, "It varies for a lot of the eggs." He nodded slightly.
Jay giggled some as her fingers started to feel chilled. "You just have to be careful with taking care of them. I can't take Chera out in the sun took long or she over heats." Chera nodded her head, her purple hair bouncing along the sides of her face. "I don't like the sun very much."
"Alright Jayoku. I will remember that. Thank you!" Chalda hugged her egg gently. "I'm glad you guys came to day. It's been pretty lonely here without anyone to talk to."
Pales smiled a bit, "It was an honor to meet you." Toki blinked a bit and tried to mimic her guardian, "On-ur to meeeet you."
Jay smiled and nodded her head, "well I did give you my card. You are more than welcome to call anytime if you ware lonely." She took a sip of her slushies and then offered more to her little child. Chera sucked on some ice thankful. It was already getting too warm for her.
Chalda smiled. "I know but then I would have to use the phone at home and that's kind of hard to do..."
"I also have my address there if you ever wanted to come visit." With a yawn Jayoku covered her mouth, Chera slid into the glass blissfully snuggling against the cold. Jayoku was startled to find her wethkin there. "You ok?" Chera looked up and nodded her head.
Toki got up to float over and peer at Chera, "Ohh..Kay 'Erra..?" Pales blinked over at Chera, but glanced at Chalda, "If you want my address you may also come over at any time."
"Thank you guys but I probably wouldn't have any way to get there. I really do appreciate it though." Chalda turned her head away from them a bit to hide her embarrassment.
He smiled a bit, "None sense. I always love company. You can ask Jayoku." He said cheerfully, glancing concernedly at Chera.
Jay laughed and nodded her head. "Well if you have no way to get here then we will just have to come visit you more often." she said with a nod as she tickled Chera's hair with the tip of her finger.
"That sounds great! I hope my little egg hatches soon so that Chera and Toki can meet my little puff." She reached over and dropped a flower petal on Chera's head.
Taking the petal she then suck on the edge of it while Jay's glass seemed to be freezing solid slowly. Jay put the glass down because it was too cold for her to hold anymore. "We would definitely like to meet him or her." she said with a nod.
He nods, "That would definitely be lots of fun to come back." He smiled happily. Toki chirped a bit, "Com back?" Pales nodded at Toki, "Come back." Toki let out a happy chirp, "Toki liiiiks 'alda."
Chalda let out an "Aww!" And scooped up Toki and snuggled her to her face. "And Chalda like Toki very very much."
Jayoku yawned, lately it seemed trying to find a job was wearing her out. "Dear lord I need a nap." she said as she tried to suppress a yawn again.
Pales chuckled softly, "Any luck yet, Jayoku?" Toki nuzzled against Chalda at the hug, "'Alada Frieeeeend... 'Era..Frieeend... Everyone frieennnd." Pales smiled a bit hearing Toki.
"You really are adorable Toki. And if you like Jayoku you could take a nap in the tree. I've got a bed in there that is pretty comfy." Chalda was glad that she finally had something to offer.
Jay waved a hand at Chalda. "If I go to sleep now I won't be sleeping tonight." she said with a bit of a laugh and then she shook her head at Pales. "I may get a web designing job. But I am waiting for them to confirm first." She said with a bit of a sigh. Chera took a piece of slush and then sucked on it.
Pales nodded, "Good luck with that then Jayoku." Toki chirped, "Guud Lucks."
Jayoku laughed. "Yah well I certainly hope it works out. I will get to work from home if it does." she tilted her head as she watched Chera take a piece of slush and seem to be aiming towards Chalda. Putting a hand in front of her Chera made a sound like pfft and then settled back down in the glass.
Chalda giggled. "Well I wouldn't mind. It's getting pretty hot out here. Wanna hit me with a snowball little one?"
Chera seemed to light up and looked to her mother for confirmation that she was indeed allowed to do this. Jay shrugged. "She gave you permission." She said with a sigh. Chera clapped her hands together gleefully and then floated out of her half frozen slush cup. Moving closer to Chalda she then focused and a medium sized snow ball seemed to appear above Chalda's head. it then plopped down.
Chalda laughed out loud as the slush dripped down her hair and down the back of her neck. She scooped up one of the larger chucks and flicked it back at Chera. "Take that little imp!"
Chera meeped and dodged she then created another snow ball. A bit bigger than before. Plop. The sound was wet and caused jay to shiver. Chera laughed as she blew a kiss as the young girl.
"You really are a little scamp aren't you?" Chalda exclaimed as the second snowball dropped on her. "Ooo that is cold on the spine!"
Toki floated and perched on Pales' shoulder. Pales sort of watched with a small blink, but remained quiet.
Chalda scooped up a large chunk of slush and flipped it towards Pales. She made sure to avoid Toki. She didn't want to hurt her after all.
He got pelted on the forehead. He gave a small dazed blink, then looked at Toki, "She got me?" He mock-whimpered. "It's too late for me?save...yourself..." Toki's eyes got wide, "Chya?!" Pales chuckled and wiped it off, flicking some toward Chalda and Jay, "No worries Toki. I am fine."
Jayoku stuck out her tongue as the slush hit her. "Dear me, now look what you've done Chera. You've made a slush fight!" Jayoku took a scoopful of slushed snow and threw a handful at Pales and Chalda. Chera was having a blast creating one snow ball after another.
Chalda dug into the forming slush pile and dished it out to both of her friends laughing out loud.
Pales got hit twice once by Chalda and once by Jayoku. "Eep. I am out numbered." Toki chirped and seemed to giggle. Toki seemed to feel quite safe.
Jayoku raised an arm up as a shield feeling the slush soak into his clothing it chilled her skin. Sitting back she watched as Chera had stopped making snow balls and seemed to be focusing really hard. A sudden plummet of snow that you only ever see happen in cartoons happened. Sitting now covered in about two inches of snow Jayoku sat stunned.
Chalda laughed again as the deluge hit. Slowly she stood and began to ring out her hair while she shook her head at Chera. "You certainly are enjoying yourself aren't you hun!" She snatched up the little puff and tossed her into the whole in the snow that had been left by her body. "Have a taste of your own medicine!"
Pales blinked a bit. Toki hid under Pales' jacket where it was loosest. "Uhh... Wow..."
Chera got back up stiffly, she of course wasn't fazed by the snow, it was her element. But floated up and then landed in a clear area and made a snow angel. Jayoku giggled.
Chalda giggled as well. She used her fingers to try to make a matching one and then made a nice happy face for it.
Pales dusted off some of the snow from his head and smirked, "That was certainly powerful..." Toki peeked out from the coat. "Chyuu?"
Jay nodded her head. "Yah...she never was able to pull off that much snow at once before." She shook her head to get rid of the snow that had piled on her hair and then watched as Chalda and Chera made snow angels together.
Chalda poked Chera in the tummy. "Looks like you are getting more powerful aren't you hun. Either that or it's just practice right?" She shivered a little. She was soaking wet and the breeze was cooler that way. She lay down in the sun a bit away from the snow where she tried to dry out a bit.
Jay got up to join her. While Chera seemed quite comfortable with where she was playing in the snow.
He just sat still and offered his hand to Toki, who happily hopped on it, "Chyu?" Pales smirked a bit, "It's snow. It's very cold."
Chalda sat up and smiled. "Come sit in the sun little one! It's much warmer over here." Chalda lay back down on her back and basked in the warm sun.
Jayoku yawned again. The sun always made her feel dozy. Chera was making a snow many in the snow. Rolling little balls around until they are about as big as herself.
Toki cautiously floated out and blinked, "Snooo..." She murmured. She was somewhat fascinated with it. Pales chuckled, "Careful little one..."

Jul/01/05
Chera sighed as she inspected her nails in boredom. Jayoku had gotten a job which left Chera pretty much alone all day long with the gummy puffs. THe puffs themselves had seemed to ignore her for ht emost part now, as they tired of her ignoring them. Chera had watched all of Jayoku's anime favoring Snow fairy Sugar as her favorite she was in the process of watching it again. Rolling to her side she formed a snowflake on the tips of her fingers and then blew it to the carpet below. The day was going to be long and boring, she could just tell it was.
Jayoku had gotten up groggily in the morning and was barely civil as she ate breakfast showered and rushed out the door. Chera had been sleeping when her mom had gone out with her firends...she wondered what they ahd been up to. Getting up she flew over to the freezer and with great effort pulled the door open. She had the munchies for icecream and her mother usually kept a small bowl out and ready for her all the time. But today the bowl wasn't there and Jay had forgotten to get her a new one. Dissapointed she was about the close the door when she noticed a cup filled with a orange gellitan. With a shrug she went to pick it up and decided that jello would work just as well.
Flying back to the couch she then used a hand to reach into the bottom of the cup and scoop up some of the orange gellitan. Taking a mouthful with her hand she scowled at the flavor. It tasted wrong. She looked at the glob in her hand for a moment, jello ...couldn't spoil could it? She took another mouthful and found it wasn't as bad as the first. With a shrug she assumed that this was probably a new flavor and continued eating.
It wasn't until half the jellowas consumed that she really started to notice the effects, her head felt light and when she moved everything seemed to have a delay in following her eyes sight. She giggeled in her hands, everything seemed funny.
The gummy puffs noticed Chera's behavoir and were quietly observing her, the purple one floated over to Chera and looked up at her, making a noise like are you ok?
Looking down Chera giggeled again and poked the purple puff rather forcefully. Releasing a squeal of pain and then latched itself onto her nimble fingers. Chera looked at her hand abit doubfounded and then burst into giggles again.
Not expecting this the gummy puff released her fingers and then backed off some obviously a bit confused. Chera opened her arms and excliamed, "Poof!" a largish snowball then appeared over the puff and once remembering that gravity existed collasped onto the gummy puff and went splat on the ground. Finding the sound interesting Chera smiled and caused another snow ball to flourish from the air.
Splat
splat...splat splat...
1 hr later
Jayoku stumbeled into the house and closed hte door behind her locking it as she turned to kick of her shoes. She shivered, the house seemed cold. As she walked to the kitchen her foot suddenly felt wet and icecold. Looking down she noticed a fiarly thin layer of water all on the kitchen floor. Occasionally here and there laid a half metled snowball. and amoungst it all lying on her stomach in a snow ball was Chera whos face looked a bit green.
"Chera! What happened here??" Jayoku exclimaed as she hurried over to her little wethkin and scooped her up.
"momm..y?" came a reply form the sickly looking little form. "i ..don't....fee..feel...so..so goo.d." she said

[havn't rped Chera in so long -_- i am a terrible owner]
Jan/13/06
Chera rubbed her eyes, it seemed like a long time had gone by since she had any alone time with her mother. Ever since that Kyata brat had entered their lives she ahd been ignored for the most part.
Puffing out one cheek she remembered the day she first met him. She had found the doll house and entered without permission and was looking at everything. So what if she had accidentally knocked over a potted plant? Broke a dish or two? Kyata had no right to talk to her that way.
Grumbling to herself she tended to stay away fromteh grumpy guss. Why would Jayoku adopt such a sour puss? With a sigh she collasped ontothe pillow she had been lying on. Her normally cheerful face now looked serious and a bit gloomy.
Jayoku had explained to her that Kyata had been abandoned by his first mother. It was something that Chera couldn't even picture or imagine. What would she do and how would she react if Jayoku was to suddenly decide to give her up to someone else??
Chewin on her lip she figured this was probably why Kyata was so grumpy. Her gaze went to linger onthe doll house which was vacant currently. Kyata was at the resturant again, it seemed to be the only place he ever was. Whie Chera got to stay home look after the puffs and develope her talent.
It must be boring...for Kyata. He only had...himself, and no magic from what she could tell how did he keep himself busy? Brushing her hair out of her hair she sat up and then floated down over to the house and pushed open the door. It was empty, and so....gloomy. All the walls had been finally painted olive green, a hideous color in her opinion but she floated inwards and was careful this time not to bump into anything.
She past Kyata's bedroom and stopped dead, there was a room, several boxes lay scattered on the floor, the draps drawn shut but light still managed to alluminate the room somewhat. Turning she pushed her fingers lightly against the door to let it open up further the room wasn't huge, but it contianed a little bed and dresser. She wondered what this room was for.
Looking around she noticed some boxes contianed a few things, not particularly interested in the boxes themselves she found herself growing more and more interested in the room itself.
With her fist she hit her palm in an revultion sort of way. "I know what i can do!" She then started moving boxes. . ..

Chera was sitting as best she could, wiping the tears from her eyes with the back of her hand. Kyata was such a jerk. She sniffeled feeling like an idiot. What made her think Kyata would want her to be his room mate? He liked being alone. Her crying finally subsiding she felt fiarly deflated at the moment.
Sitting atop a large book shelf she even felt colder than normal. The gummy puffs came to comfort her but she didn't feel like company and shooed them away.
