"I made it," he replied shortly, one hand returning to the back of the couch while the other retrieved his own bottle. He took another long pull, then set the bottle aside, eyeing the elegant bottle in Jan's hands as if trying to remember why he had pulled it out. After a moment, his thoughts seemed to clear, and he sunk back in his seat, nodding to the bottle. "That liquid. Looks like fine wine, eh? It's not. Bloody brilliant stuff. Keeps the glass from breaking, sorta reinforces it. Bought it off some hag downtown."
He paused just long enough to retrieve his bottle and take a sip, gesturing towards the one in Jan's hands with his own. "There's a diamond in there. ********' massive diamond. I stole it from a museum."

"S'long as ya din't steal et from no one who needed et, Ah dun care."
Chuckling, she stroked the bottle thoughtfully. Lyrus's future was held within, preserved by strange purple liquid. A strange thought for a young girl to have. Frowning slightly, she took the alcohol from the teen's hand, and replaced it with his unique bottle.
"Thank ya fer showin' me. Ah won' tell no one."
Keep it safe, Lyrus. Hide it until you can use it.
Luckily, Jan wasn't the type to care about riches, fame, nor did she have the traditional sense of moral code, which would have prompted her to return the diamond to the museum. No, she wanted her friend happy, and if a diamond could do that... Then he deserved it.
Lifting his bottle, she chugged another fourth of it, grimacing. His was even WORSE tasting. Setting it on the table, she picked her own back up. This was much better.

"'Course not. Museum wasn't doin' anything with it. Wouldn't take it from someone who needed it," he mumbled, making to take another drink before the bottle was plucked from his grip.
He frowned, shooting Jan a glare, but his expression softened considerably when the the unique bottle was place in his hand instead. He smiled, fondly setting the bottle on his lap, and stretched an arm across the top of the couch behind her, watching out of the corner of his eye while she helped herself to his drink.
Chuckling at her expression, he retrieved his bottle with his free hand and took a short drink, but almost immediately lowered the bottle once more, smile fading as he stared around the cluttered room.

"S'wron'?"
Her speech was even more slurred than usual, and the androgynous girl leaned against him slightly, yawning. Lyrus was one of the few people she felt completely at ease around, which most would consider odd. They had... Understandings. She would miss him.
Nursing her bottle, her brown eyes took a slow perusal of the room, trying to identify the origin of Lyrus' lack of mirth.

He didn't answer immediately, nor did he even seem to have heard her. He was silent, eyes alowly moving about the aisles of varying levels of junk. Once her words seemed to register, he shrugged, muttering a quiet 'Wanna go 'ome' before lifting the bottle to his lips and downing a good portion of the remainder.
Finally lowering the bottle, he set it aside, doing the same for the one on his lap, and climbed to his feet. His stance was a bit unsteady originally, but he straightened after a moment, shaking his head clear and offering a hand down to Jan. "Let's get you home. S'late."

She hadn't expected his answer, but when she thought about it, it made serious sense. He'd left home since... Before he was a teen. Had he even seen his family since then? Jeeze. Jan's could get really annoying, but she loved them, and would never want to NOT visit with them. Especially if she moved out.
Nodding slowly, the girl allowed herself to be tugged to her feet, having a brief giggle when she almost toppled over, and gripping Lyrus' bicep to steady herself.
"Leeeed th' way, cap'n."

The giggle was enough to bring a smile back to his lips, the seriousness of the past moment loss to the fresh wave of alcohol he's just downed. Laughing softly himself, he looped an arm around her shoulders to steady her and steered her towards the door, even in his own state remembering to lock it before closing it behind them. And off they went down the road. Lyrus only vaguely remembered where Jan's house was, but he figured they would find it easily enough. It was a relatively quiet night, for which he was thankful, and they were both drunk enough that a long walk wouldn't matter come tomorrow. Lead the way, indeed.

It was indeed a long walk, but stumbling, giggles, and stupid comments made it all the better, and soon enough, they were in her neighborhood. A lot of the people at Jan's house were awake, but none of whom would punish her for being drunk. Besides, she was leaving tomorrow.
Stopping at her garden, she turned around, and gave Lyrus... A hug. That didn't happen very often with ANYBODY, let alone him. But still, it seemed appropriete.
"Ah bet Ah'm bigger next time Ah see ya..."
A teenager, she meant.

Somehow, through the maze of giggles, stumbles, and near collapses, the house appeared before them. The sight was something of a surprise to Lyrus, and an unwelcome one at that; he was having fun, and he wasn't entirely sure how he would get home.
And then he was being hugged, and concerns went out the window. He returned the hug with perhaps a bit more gusto than he would had he been sober, chuckling. "Don't doubt it. Come visit the secon' y' get back, alright?" Drawing back from the embrace, he offered a smile goodbye, then gave her a small shove towards the door. "Kiss some dykes for me while y' gone."

"... Kay."
That was... Alll she said, and their goodbye was done. Of course, not without a last laugh for the two of them, as when he lightly pushed her, she fell flat on her face in the garden, and ended up covered in dirt. Still that wasn't unusual for the potato sin'aeis, and she made a face at the lamb before ducking in the back door of herself.
She'd write him a letter the second she got to school, yes she would.

That was all there was to say. He laughed when she feel, too far gone to find the fall anything but funny, and made a face right back before she escaped into the house. For a moment he lingered where he stood, unsure of what to do with himself and more concerned with replaying the fall in his head. Then, without a word, he turned and started off in the general direction of home, whistling a wayward tune to himself as he stumbled back towards the shop.
