Very good, I've been trying Atlanta lately, and I would qualify for the pole, but my starts suck so bad that I get mired in the pack, and I could not make the car handle in the pack. It was an out front only car.

I had that problem too, but when working on setups, always consider gears as the first thing to work with. Most of the time, changing your rear end gear gives you the umph you need to blow past the lead AI. More Rear End (like making it 4.00 maybe) makes your car accelerate faster no matter what 1st-4th you have. Another thing to make sure is is when running in the draft you never exceed 9500 RPMs. If you do, turn down either your 4th gear or your Rear End. Anything over 9500 RPMs in 4th gear will make your engine hate you. sweatdrop

Remember that old NES game Days of Thunder? The one where you controlled the pit guys every time you pit and stuff. Anyways, you could pass anywhere in that game as long as you knew how to drive it. Well, I can say that my Talladega car both Nextel AND Busch can do just that... PASS ANYWHERE ANYTIME!

Drafting off turn 1 into turn 2, then pulling the whip pass off 2 into the backstetch, side by side with my draft partner all the way around 3 and 4, finally completing the pass in the tri-oval, nearly on the wall most of the time... now thats Days of Thunder style right there. 3nodding

It's official, well, sort of official.

For those not paying attention, or maybe paying attention too much, EA has started banning the hardcore XBL drivers for using setups deemed to be "cheating" or "exploiting a bug in the game" that overpower the casual drivers. I have many of the banned drivers on my friendslist, and they say that I also have been banned, even though I have not been on NASCAR 2k5 in some time.

Tell me about it... we have a lot of unhappy EA fans that are now disowning EA for applying such force. I have not yet checked to see if my gamertag has been banned, but I will check before the end of the weekend.

Ugh, I'm really starting to hate EA now. First they take over my beloved Command and Conquer series from Westwood, dissolve them, and ******** it up, first with gamaeplay and next with a total lack of support, and now it seems their bullshit has trickled down to their console sports games, which I thought was their niche. stressed

2006 TTC new features (confirmed or working stages) are:

-Team Racing confirmed, as of right now, the unused stick on the PS2 or Xbox controller (left analog stick for PS2, Digital Pad for Xbox) will control it. But, for online fans, voice recognition used by Ubisoft for the great Tom Clancy Rainbox Six titles has been added to communicate with your digital crew chief and spotter, as well as replace the unused stick for Team Racing. How team racing works is you control your car while you can swap out and start driving as your teammate. OR you can tell your teammate to help you, or do things for you that you can't from your position. Pit strategy is also a part of team racing's voice options.

-The beloved In-car camera is FINALLY back where it belongs. We've missed it since 2001. The dashboard lights up for night races, but of course, as per NASCAR rules, only the tachometer and fuel gauges are visible. NO MPH GAUGE with the In-Car camera.

-All 4 racing series are back, with SimRacing's graphic system. If EA makes a next-gen version of the game, prepare for an explosive damage model compared to what we're used to.

-Improved online play, including car clubs for Xbox Live users. Leagues may be coming, as well as voice chat in lobbies and game rooms, which before we never in C4TC. 8 to 12 cars are currently possible (consider IndyCar Series 2k5 used 12 at least from what i remember), but EA is working on 16 to full field like in SimRacing to maximize online play. Voice-over IP makes that hard though, so they might have to use a Halo 2 approach to it: Proximity voice chat would work well, in many respects.
