Phantom of the Opera by Iron Maiden
It's challenging and fun. Definetly helped improve my playing by learning this one inside and out.

If I happen to have the tab from my scores of Guitar World, I'll learn it from there. If I don't, I'll just learn by ear.

Well, if you're trying to develop your skills, you should learn it by ear no matter what. Learning by TAB just teaches you another song. Learning by ear teaches you another song and gives you invaluable ear training, which makes you a better musician. Use the TAB to check your work afterwards (you may even find that the TAB is wrong; a lot of online TAB is).

Rhoads, I know you'll say either Mr. Crowley or Crazy Train, so I'll just answer my question for you.

I would recommend Diary of a Madman. It's Randy's masterpiece, AFAIK. It has a great intro, a rhythmically interesting verse, an extremely tasty and unusual solo (which isn't very technically demanding), and -- right before the solo -- one of the most epic riffs ever recorded (that E-D-E, D-C#-D, F# riff... so heavy).

Over the Mountain is another great one to learn and play. That was Randy's favorite off that album. Learn it and you'll probably agree with him. smile

I just finished learning Empty Inside by All That Remains.
I had fun with that one and it was a good challenge, you oughta give that one a try!

Try Lifeline from Papa Roach, it has a good use of pinch harmonics, and it'll help with that if your not good at it.

Or Hell Yeah from Rev Theory if you have a wah pedal and someone to jam with.

You could try 'Anya' by Deep Purple.
That's one I wish I could play. But I'm trying.
