"You've seen it before?" He asked wrapping an arm around her waist and peering up at her. He had seen many like it, but none quite so well crafted. It looked more modern than others, less crude or primitive. "Can you remember where?"

"Of course I can remember where. It was in Veronica. There was a shu that came in several times to hear me sing and afterwards we would talk and he would try to win my affections," she smirked. "He'd bring in trinkets from all of his travels and tell me the stories of how he got them. I believe that one came from Iaan. He tried to give it to me, but I never took gifts from customers," she said, leaning down to place her head on top of his.

"How honourable of you." He smirked resting his hand on her thigh. Though that was very interesting. "So possibly just a ritual object of some kind." He said setting it down on the surface. "Hmm I'd hoped it would have a magical significance. What do you think?"

"But it does," she said, leaning forward to reach for it. Turning it over to show the bottom there were some ancient letterings etched very lightly into the stone. They were small and you would have to know they were there to really notice them. "I forget what he said it did though. It was a while ago."

Mecca watched her with interest and pulled both her hand and the statue towards him. Reaching into a drawer he pulled out a magnifying glass and held it close to the bottom of the statue.
"Well, thank the gods for your allure." He smirked as he looked at the unfamiliar writing.
"I'll have to look into things more, but that certainly is interesting." He said placing the glass down and tracing his nail across her skin.

Well, he most definitely seemed to be over his irritation with her now and she smiled as he traced a nail across her skin. Shifting, she slipped easily into his lap, her legs draped over the arm of the chair, and held the statue up to him. "So I did good?" she asked a little playfully, leaning over to lightly n** his jaw.

Mecca raised an eyebrow and looked down at her.
"You want me to praise you like a child?" He said taking the statue from her hands and looking closely at the bottom once more.
"Thank you for sharing your information with me." He said simply placing the statue on the side and raking his fingers up into her hair. "How would you like to visit an air ship?" He asked with as much of a smile as he ever showed.

His manner amused her greatly, but her smile never changed to show that amusement. "You're welcome Mecca," she said a bit more maturely as she watched him inspect the statue again. When he suddenly raked his nails up into her hair, she closed her eyes for a moment, then opened them at his question.
"Air ship?" she repeadted uncertainly. Heights made her nervous. "I've never been on one before. It could be fun," she said, her smile returning to it's usual luster.

"I must go to see the person who brought me this. I wish to encourage them to sell this to me." He said holding her waist to stop her falling, biting her shoulder lightly and resting his cheek against hers.
"Would you like to come with me? The ship will be docked."

Shivering as he bit her shoulder lightly, Covet closed her eyes again as he rested his cheek against hers.
"I would love to come with you Mecca," she said softly into his ear, and she turned slightly to n** it lightly between her teeth. "When are we going?" she asked, pulling her face away from his so she could look up into his eyes properly.

"Now." he said, slightly reluctant to move. One look at the statue convinced him. There would be time to play later. "I have to go before they start preparing to leave. Are you ready?"

Smiling still, Covet slid out of his arms and lap and rushed up the stairs to make herself more presentable.
Arriving at the air ship docks, she had to admit they were very impressive. As they strolled side by side it took all of her strength to not cling to his arm. She wsn't sure why, but she felt a little nervous being around these shus.

Mecca kept his hands firmly in his coat pockets as they neared one of the magnificent ships. Speaking to a brightly coloured Shu working on the docks he was pointed up one of the stairs towards the raised docks.
"Stick close to me." He said to her as they started to climb the wooden steps "and only speak if they speak to you first."

Covet looked up at him as he spoke and again had to fight the urge to hold onto him. It wasn't like she needed to, she realized. He was right by her side and she knew he would not let anything happen to her. Besides, she had no reason to believe that anything would happen. She decided she was only nervous because this was her first time on an airship, and though it was not in the air, the knowledge that it could be set her on edge a little. "Okay," she acknowledged him softly.

Mecca nodded and walked up onto te ship, giving Covet a hand over onto the smooth washed boards of the ship.
"Is the Captain around?" He asked one of the cabin boys who happily scrubbed the desks.
The small Shu nodded and went in search of his master.
"These are magnificent when they sail." He said walking to the side and peering down to the normal docks below. "You should get over your fear Covet, and try it sometime."
