River sighed, this was stupid.

"Do you know where you son resides? I have a son myself and I know he joined a pack with a black alpha, I am looking for him and if you son is the same colour as you then maybe it is his pack, if he has one that my son has joined." River knew it wasn't she knew Stray, was there when she told Chip to leave but she didn't like to the old wolfess and she refused to let her go without knowing about her son, anyone can be useful, Ren didn't seem to realise that.

Aziz didn’t seem to take much offense, but she did bitterly remark: “Lone wolves rarely can pick and choose their company.” The scrawny female flanked somewhat to the side of her dead creature, and decided to let it go. She had enough foot to spite the grey female for just a few days at least. But if she had not taken offense to the dominant female’s comment- Aziz did take offense over any mention of her son.

“I don’t know where he is.” She snapped. “I don’t care.” She did care. “Some big alpha with a horde of wolves to the east before the sea. If your son joined his pack, I doubt you’ll get him back. Damn fanatical-“ She trailed off, mumbling a series of intelligible curses.

She trembled as if she was lost in the moment, muttering, before returning back to the other pairs. She hated helping people. But either the fear over Sirena, or perhaps the wish to return some favor of the food bubbled over her, and she did offhandedly add- “I do know someone who knows many wolves, however.”

Ren was less than keen to go anywhere near a populated area - especially if the wolves there were as fanatical as this other wolf said. However there was a little voice in the back of her mind that said such meetings were inevitable if she wished to find her remaining children.

Little did she know it was this pack where one of her children resided. As for the other two she searched for, one of them had died as a pup not long after leaving his mother and the girl, Orphen, rarely revealed herself to anyone. It was her daughter who would be the most difficult to find in the long run.

Beggars can't be choosers, right? She turned then, setting both dark eyes upon Aziz. Any information you could give would be useful at this point. I have no leads to go on other than the words of a passer by and my own instinct.

The pale green eyes rose and fell, before she allowed herself to be seated in a triangle fashion before the two females. It had been a long time since she had spoken to anyone for this long- and it was starting to make her nervous. It wasn’t that she feared so much for her life that she worried- Aziz simply couldn’t handle suddenly being reminded she was a living thing and not an object. And living things could feel sorry for themselves, something for which she was determined not to allow.

Nothing in Aziz’s life, in her mind, was Aziz’s fault. If she had been a bad mother- it was because she had a bad son. If she had to live the life of a hapless whore, it was because Hrothmund threw her out, and not because she had tried to murder their children. She blamed her parents for even putting her in the place to meet Hrothmund. She blamed Carius for her hunger. But surely nothing could ever be her own fault.

But she had already spoken, and this Sirena wanted some answers. “I won’t pretend to know anyone in these woods. But I know a female who does know many-“ She half stammered. “Her sister is a seer. She might know who you are looking for...- or perhaps just a tell of something.”

Her ears perked up and there was a sudden curious glint in her aged eyes as she turned to fix her gaze upon the wolfess who spoke. Perhaps the scraggly old creature would be of some use after all.

Her eyes flickered briefly back to River who was listening and with a small growl she folded her ears back against her skull.

Seers... She snarled the word, tell me, what do you know of seers and their families? Are they....trustworthy? She had always thought such freaks of nature were full of trickery and not to be trusted. Even if this female you speak of is not a seer herself she may have inherited the gene for lying. It was obvious that Ren did not trust others very much, though one could quite understand why if they knew of her past.

River watched the two talk and suddenly became more interesting at the word seer but she wasn't all too bothered, she just listened, remembered and kept out the way so not to be a bother.

She hissed somewhat and darted her eyes to the side. “I won’t pretend to know anything of seers. They are tricky and manipulative- but I have never heard one to be a liar. I wouldn’t think they’d need to lie if they could control the questions you ask in the first place.” The black wolf hunched herself, as the wildness of her actions finally caught up with her from before. “This family though. It’s not an ordinary family.” She spoke flatly.

“In the old country- we spoke of them badly. They say their mother was a witch, and her mother before that mated her own father. Not a good family.” Aziz glanced to the side, and twitched the end of her tail. “But they’re charmers. Even the dying one lives like a queen. My mate Carius is too stupid to see his way out of her wiles.” The black wolf shifted her shoulders and realized she was leading too quickly on the path for what she really wanted- if she got Sirena to speak to Ryukkii, she could have a moment alone to convince Carius to come back with her. Aziz was perhaps not the most cunning manipulator- but she did try.

“Regardless- she knows a good percentage of the woods, if you are looking for someone.” The female remarked flatly, hoping the sudden change of subject had not been noticed.

Ren turned her head once more to stare out across the meadow, her eyes falling upon the mesh of tree trunks that was a labyrinth she needed to decipher. What should she do?

Silently she asked her dead mate for advice, seeking his words on the breeze so that she might know which way to turn. She did not trust seers or anyone who was friends with a seer but...but if she had no choice what could she do?

Would she seek out a wolf who could lead her to her children? Or would she continue to wander as she did now, with no clear destination?

It was a long time before she answered but finally the old female turned her eyes back to the scarred femme.

I am not fond of this idea but I have been left with little choice. Very well fellow wolfess, I will trust that this wolf you speak of can give me answers. She turned to River then, unless my companion feels otherwise?

River looked at Ren after she had spoken and then back at the other, "I have not met a seer but they don't sound good, either way, we don't have to do anything that this seer says. I am sure we can fight her if she tries anything."

The brown wolf stood up and looked at the black female, she wasn't a non-trusting girl but what she knew now had changed her somewhat. She was going to become a non trusting wolf, that was for certain. "Lets go with it."

Aziz felt somewhat taken back, absolutely shocked that she had actually managed to manipulate anyone into doing anything. But she quickly corrected herself before she looked too obvious- she couldn’t let her excitement over the matter deprive her of Carius. But even as her mind traced over those words, she found herself wondering why she even wanted him back. How far down had it been that the once beautiful Nadia had been dragged?

The female’s voice stuck in her throat for a few seconds as she ushered out speech again. She hated being old. “I don’t think you would meet her- but neither of them are strong fighters. My Carius- he could be a problem, but I believe I can convince him otherwise. I don’t like either of them.” She noted, just for the record. Although she realized she forgot the context of it. “The witch and her sister. But I do think she might know something.”

Well- it was somewhat true. Aziz had no idea if Ryukkii knew anything about Sirena’s problem. But she was banking on the other female at least speaking in a round for about a good half an hour, knowing the information or not.

“It is a little bit of a walk.” She spoke, and shifted her eyes. “Towards the sea.”
