This is rediculous... it seems like they're playing little mind tricks with newbies... "ohh... we'll let them get a bunch of gold for a day or so then we'll snatch it away from them"... at least that's how it's been for me. I was earning good there for my first few days... until I just got bored... then just now I barely got through 5 polls before it started dropping rolleyes
I'm ready to get my hair dadgummit!!!

How are things going for everybody now that we've all had a chance to play a bit with the new gold-earning system? Does it still seem to you that alternating accounts seems to get more time with unlimited polling (or at least 10g/poll) work, and ultimately more gold (if spread across multiple accounts) or .... what?
I have been logging in to each account daily, collecting the daily chance and posting / polling a couple times per account. It seems that the accounts which have been active most recently get less gold - both for initial polls (14g maybe for the first, dropping off rapidly) and posts (5-7g for the first post, dropping to 1-2 almost instantly), and for continual posting/polling, while accounts that have been "sitting inactive" for even a few hours longer seem to get more gold for initial posts (20-32g) and polls (14g or so), and stay higher-earning for longer.
I'm not sure if ultimately, we are making as much gold as before, less, or if it's just hard to tell because it is spread out over multiple accounts. I'm also not sure if simply logging in to the various accounts is messing up my ability to make gold. Regardless, I'm finding the adjusted system annoying because it just seems so much more complicated than it needs to be, much more difficult to make gold, and less rewarding to be on a single account regularly (like one that has "responsibilities" like a minishop or just being able to access specific guilds). Anyone else? curious.

Yes, it does seem that if you use an account daily your polling potential WILL drop.
It certainly does seem to be better to use a different account each day 3nodding
It's worked fine for me anyway, i get no polling drop off on any account now 3nodding

I think I've found the same, Blais, although I haven't been switching accounts regularly because I'm just too lazy. I'd rather stay in one place and earn at a steady rate, and I think it sucks that the more active you are, the more your earning potential flattens out. Almost seems like reverse logic to me. I haven't really cared about earning gold though. I just come, reply to posts, maybe poll a little if I have some time, but I don't even pay attention to how much my total gold goes up anymore. I'm sure I could make more gold if I made sure to post, poll, and comment on a profile, journal, and arena entry every day, but who wants to be all meticulous and spammy like that? neutral

i haven't visited any profiles or anything since the first week of the change, i just let a different person do the posting each day.
i did some post free polling earlier and still earned good money per poll.
i know if you did that with the old system you only got 10 for every other poll, and 1 for the ones inbetween.
i'm used to the new system now, and after clearing a page of polls(and posting) i'd say you end up with roughly the same amount as you would have from the old system, if not a little more.

What do you spend your time doing usually? Posting and polling? Or voting in arenas? Or something else... Because I do remember when I was earning steady poll gold, UNTIL I started voting in the arena, and then both went down drastically.

Unless I am just flat out tired of polling and posting, I will go to the arenas. But that is right, you lose earning rather quickly there so it's a last resort if I have a couple hundred gold to make yet to get to the next 1000 and I'm just dead tired. I did that today to get my earning up to 3k. Now, voting in a poll gets 1 gold but that's ok, I'm exhausted.

dunno.. seems no matter what I do, I'm not earning as much as I was before the change. Haven't been online with this account for a couple days, and after 6 polls/posts, the gold dropped to 6g per poll and 1g per post... rolleyes I'm discouraged. And on that note, I'm off... perhaps to be back later (on one account or another), perhaps not. We'll see...

If you have the gold-making alert on, it tells you what you make for what. You might notice after you've posted a few times, you're suddenly getting only 1g per post or poll, if you've polled for a short while too.
