To this, Mteule nodded, watching neutrally as their visitor picked a spot to settle down into, away from the whole of the pride, but not out of sight. He seemed to realize that Mteule intended to keep a vigil over him, of sorts.
Turning full attention back to Kauta, Mteule purred and shut his eyes, brushing his head against hers reassuringly. He didn't intend to sound doubtful, but he was distrusting of any outsiders like Zuko, especially ones wandering at the moon's peak hours. That didn't mean it was any less the right thing to do, and the pride was all within calling range, among many other advantages.
"Do you think he'll want to stay for a while?" He whispered instead, casually.

"He said he was looking for a place to sleep until the sun rises," she whispered back, laying her head down on her paws and turning away from Zuko so that he couldn't see her speaking. How much good that would do, she wasn't sure; she knew Zuko wasn't stupid and would probably be able to guess who they were talking about.
She had every intention of rising in the morning and looking for the outsider. Whether she would find him or not was anyone's guess.

"I'm sure we've nothing to worry about." He murmered at last, preening her neck fur soothingly with affectionate washes of his tongue. "Perhaps he'll choose to extend his visit a bit longer since you've shown him such kind hospitality." The young priest rumbled optimistically in the same soft whisper.

Kauta nodded, contended by Mteule's approval. Not that he ever showed otherwise. "Perhaps."

"Hmm..." He rumbled again, shutting his eyes. "The full moon will rise soon... the time for the festival is already almost upon us again." He smiled softly. A bit of good news to add a touch of excitement for the pride. "The perfect opprotunity to rekindle the morale of the pride..."

She giggled a bit to herself, rolling over in a sudden playful mood -- half on top of him. She personally didn't need any further suggestions, but that didn't mean she couldn't poke fun at Mteule a bit first.
"Or maybe that's just an excuse for your ultirior motives..?"

"... Ulterior... motives?" The priest blinked owlishly, genuinely confused in his naive way. A few seconds of silence ticking by, followed by a soft snort from the visitor's general direction finally set the man's brain in gear. "Oh! Um..."
Poor Mteule, so un-one-track-minded... Sigh, one wondered how one so young could be so oblivious.
His fur burned gently around the face and neck, and he sputtered a bit for a few short seconds.... but then he smiled a bit sheepishly and responded-- "Yes, well.... perhaps here or now aren't the best place for that kind of morale boost..." He said with a quiver of modesty in his tone. "... Should we..." Clearing of the throat... "excuse ourselves?"

Kauta couldn't help but grin like a cub who knows they've gotten away with something they shouldn't have. She waited patiently for the puzzle pieces to click into place, before replying. "Yes, perhaps we should."
She rolled off him and got to her feet, her tail twitching as she led the way out of the clearing area and toward the dense forest trees that would provide convenient privacy.
