"Then don't cry for me...whatever name I bear...if this much I know...all hope is not lost..." He straightened, canting his head to one side as he paused to study the other. It was a strange completion of sorts...not pain as Kaya thought, though certainly there was a facet of that hidden away in the dark corridors of memory, but there was also a warmth there, of comradship and feelings that he'd long-buried.

"It is foolish to let such a thing remain in sadness..."

"Then at least... let me apologize for what I had done to you. Although perhaps I should also thank you..." Kaya let the tears dry, which they did easily, and then he smiled up at the demon. Eyes were blank, yet they weren't at the same time. Although sightless they were filled with the emotion of thankfulnes and completion at having found the object of their search.

"Perhaps you don't remember what happened, and perhaps you remember something. I do not know Hayate, however, to have found you is not an act of sadness but one of much happiness for me. I can see that in your eyes you hold something better then the pain I thought I would bring."

It seemed strange that Kaya was so willing to talk now, when he'd barely said more then a word previously. He was like a preaching Buddhist, telling his beliefs to the world or maybe to one person in particular. He was trying to share the wisdom, without giving it all away, without sharing the feeling or emotion that his words could bring. Kaya was certainly a puzzling angel, a beautiful scarred angel, to whom the world had once been entrusted.

The Earth's former savior, Lafiyal. A preacher of many helps and talents, of hope and life. An angel sent by God (though this fact wavers) from Heaven to bring enlightenment to the mortals of Earth. He was more then that, he was the purifier of a demon! And also, he was his own murderer.

There was regret in that, but no regret in the reason for which he had died. He had died for what he believed in, in the arms of the one in whom he had believed and that was nothing to regret.

"You are alive...and I am alive..." The demon stated the fact simply, for such a reunion he thought should not be full of sadness, or remorse for the past. If this was a chance to start anew, then no matter who had given it to them, he thought it best that it be taken advantage of.

His memory...he wished he could capture it...drag it to the light...for surely then the truth of this lovely and tragic figure before him, as well as his own scarred body, would be made known, and all the puzzle pieces could fall into place, as they surely must be ordained to.

Incomplete...he knew he did not want to be incomplete.

Such simplistic words that were both soothing and stirring to the angel's mind. They awoke him to see the truth before him, and not the tragedy behind him. It wasn't supposed to be a depressing meeting, and the two knew it.

Finally he got to see him again and he could make up for all the wrong's done to the demon! And done to himself! "To live, to be alive, it is a grand thing."

Hayate smiled faintly, the edges of his lips curling upwards, "Indeed...Azikayal..." He didn't know...as he apparently didn't know a lot of things, but the demon wanted to pursue this, whatever it might lead to.

"Let us...make the most of it...for my memory does not seem so clear as yours, and I would like to know of you...more than just my instinct tells me, as that is as through a fogged mirror."

The blood stricken angel had forgotten the true kindness of Escalestes, whom did not belong where Fate had placed him, but it came back to haunt him as Hayate. A talent only the blue scarred man before him could use, a talent so rare that none else had it.

It was the talent of memory and of acceptance and of ... identical rebirth. It was rare to be reborn, even rarer still to be reborn as the same species and nearly impossible to be the same person. However, Hayate was not Escalestes. Not in the same sense. Their lives were different, they looked different and acted different. But deep down, their souls and their reactions to statements of old were the same. And that was pure bliss.

Kaya picked up his legs, and without dropped or raising an inch he sat crossed legged, his wings keeping him sustained. "To see with eyes unclouded, I shall help you. You wish to know me, and I will grant you that as well. But... there is something I wish to ask of you..."

He inclined his head towards the angel, watching him, his own wings beating once, softly, at the other's motion, but he remained on the ground, though if he chose he could do otherwise.

It was an ache...not to remember, but something within him was rejoicing over this meeting, and another was terribly curious...so great his inquisitiveness and desire to know that he might have done anything in that moment.

"Then ask...ask and I shall give you an answer."

"Do you realize by being with me, you could remember something painful? Something that could hurt you?" Azikayal looked seriously at him, with face calm as a sunset. A breeze ruffled his bangs and he sighed outwardly. "If you get hurt, I won't be able to bear it. I've caused enough pain in my last life and to do it again to the same person would be deadly for me."

He held out a hand to him, "I realize that...but...if it is my past...then I will view it as such...and strive to make the present better because of that past strife. That is my answer. I will refuse to dwell on that...you won't hurt me...Azikayal..." And he sincerely believed that, and he thought that with his own strength he could cope...and perhaps he was right.

The angel figured he worried for nothing, and soon resumed his emotionless and priestly stature. Gliding along the sidewalk carelessly, he beckoned Hayate to follow him and soon he flew up above the city skyscrapers and landed on the roof. "It's beautiful." Kaya whispered, to himself mainly.

It was, in a man-made industrial sort of way. The sunset was happening, past all the smoke of the factories and behind all the tall buildings. The sky was turning purplish red and dabbed with a gradient of orange, it was truly a sight to behold.

Perhaps Azikayal was afraid of hurting himself again, he really didn't want to suffer anymore. Meeting Hayate was the thing he'd been living for, but now he doubted it. He was afraid of so much and yet he desired it too. Some godly figure he was turning out to be...

He took to flight with ease, cerulean wings spreading with a soft swish as air passed above and beneath them. His sharp ears caught the other's voice as he alighted beside him...and his own gaze swept the skyline. "Yes." He agreed, in the same tone.

Nervousness dominated him, not fear...that uncertain trembling in his innermost being. It was strange that such a thing would happen...that he, who was usually so adamant, felt so.

And then there was three. With a devilish gleam, the rainbow raver monkey hoisted himself onto the building ledge. It had taken awhile to get up here, but he was enjoying the chase. Released from Hell because of his murder he was reborn and seeking his killers. The two of them. Today was his lucky day, for they were in front of him, before his lovely eyes. He chuckled silently and jumped up behind Kaya, wrapping his tail tightly about the angel's waist.

Azikayal had opened his mouth to speak with the tail made him gasp. It was cold, fuzzy and constricting and the sound of a warm breathing thing behind him sent shivers down the angel's spine. "..." He was speechless.

"Come along now ... my dear killer. You'll pay for what you did!" The monkey laughed hard and dragged Kaya right onto his back with demonic strength. The thin and fragile bleeding angel stood no chance.

(( X-x *is sick* Bleh...that's no fun ))

Hayate didn't think...hell, he didn't even hesitate, moving with a speed and a power that had long lain dormant. Whatever the angel's history had been...indeed, whatever the demon's own...he was not going to stand by and let anything happen to him. For he knew...he knew Kaya was important. And no stupid little monkey was going to hurt him.

He launched himself at their attacker, powerful wings propelling him forward with a snarl that bared fangs. No...he wasn't in a mood to talk, that was not how demons settled such things, was it.

Yet the monkey was quick, and Azikayal was nearly weightless. Hopping backwards, and taking the struggling, ever floating angel with him he snarled at the demon. "You...." He hissed. "Murderer." Eyes sparkled as his hair looked electrified.

It was sort of like a show down... anything you can do I can do better. I can do anything better then you... sorta thing. "Lafiyal is mine you traitor." Pulling Kaya's struggling body close as he hopped to the building ledge, he said, "Come closer and I'll slit his throat." He smiled maniacally, silently laughing at the demon as he took out a knife and brought it near Kaya's throat.

Azikayal was in a state of shock and pain, being dragged around and abused. He wasn't happy either, and he frowned slightly. Struggling with the tail that had now moved to his neck and was crushing his air pipes (the knife was poised under it) he tried to pull the tail away, coughing furiously. His hands went white as he tried to sear through the monkey's tail, however... something rebonded his attack and burned his hands. Blood fell like rain from his wings.
