wolfsbanemoon Shnazzy ^_^ It could certianly use more information on the magical aspects of them though, not just faery tale definitions. Try checking out www.llewellyn.com. It's a publisher's website that specializes in the occult, witchcraft, etc. It'll either have books you may want to take a look at, or it may have links to other websites. Hope that helps.

I assume by faeries that we are reffering to pixies, elves, imps, brownies etc. as there are many different types with different temperaments and different personalities, just as we have.
You don't need to enter the faery realm in order to see and communicate with faeries. Their realm runs 'parallel' to ours (for want of a better term). Certain places such as faery rings act like gateways, but the faery folke are always around us. I have seen and communicated with faeries since I was little and still do. Most people think I am mad, but they are connected to and in a sense a part of our natural surroundings.
If you are going to try to connect with them take them an offering and try meditating in a place that is magickal to you but make sure you know the place and are safe there. Never call them out, invite them as you would the quarters. Sometimes you will just feel them around you, other times you may see them. Do persevere, however, as they are often shy and will only make themselves known when they feel comfortable around you.

Well, sure. What would you like to know?
Faeries cannot be controlled, they are wild spirits just like the elements. That's why you should never demand that they show themselves. That's when you can run into problems. Ever since I was about 4 I remember seeing faeries, they are very playful and have always helped me to see the energy within the world around me. Of course there are types of faery folke that are best avoided but generally they'll leave you alone if you don't go seeking them.
A good way to connect with them is. like I said before, to find a place outside to sit and meditate. If you can find a special plant or natural water source even better. Take a pad and some pencils and invite them and allow yourself to draw, much like you would with automatic writing. As they feel more comfortable with you they will show themselves through you drawings. The pictures often don't look like anything in particular but they encompass the spirit of the faery you are communing with. The more you get to know them, the more you will find that they act in your life.
I have several books on faery types and their temperaments, where they originate from and myths about them from their native areas. Post any questions you've got and I'll try to answer them as best as I can, though I am by no means an expert on the subject.
