Khel wearily leaned against the banister, her arms easily wrapped around a gently pulsating crystal. MY crystal... my Bete Noire. A quick glance around revealed nothing unusual to the Undead. Just... serenity. She blinked. The notion finally settled on her: it was finally quiet.
Carefully setting the water crystal on the floor, Khel pulled out a battered notebook from her ((as of now, nonexistant)) bag. Wiping away a smidgen of dirt from its cover, the zombie passed a loving hand over the book. A brief search of her pockets yeilded a writing tool, and a steep stair served (inadequately, of course) as a bench.
Lifting her pen to her new journal, she scratched out her first words...
A word from the Wise: Dear Journal, To those whom may concern: You're not doing too shabby for a book left behind in an abandoned warehouse in the middle of a forest. Ooh, is that a chill I feel on my back? Ha. Crystal Guardian must intuitively know the name I called this supposed "Temple". In all seriousness, why is this place called a temple? For all intents and purposes, there is no worship here...
And if there is... Well, I'll be damned. Pun intended.
The zombie glanced at her crystal, briefly admiring the blue lights which danced across the stairs.
I suppose I should start writing about what I meant to write when I snuck you out from under CrystalGuardian's nose. (I do think she knows, but doesn't care enough about an old journal to recollect it. Lucky for me, I suppose.)
Recently, I've been seeing strange things.... Eccentric things, to be quite honest ... from ... my crystal. I'm worried. I might not be the summoner CrystalGuardian assumed I was. What if this "call" I feel isn't what everyone assumes it to be? What if it was innocent curiousity? Then when this "Elysian" pops out of whatever world it supposedly comes from, it will reject me, and ...
Bah, I can't even get my thoughts down on paper.
I can only hope that by keeping this journal, I can more easily determine exactly what it is that is happening, and what it is that will happen. I might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but that doesn't give me an excuse to forget about my own responsibilities.
Responsibilities...
Speaking of which, I must fly. The stairs probably aren't the safest place for a restless crystal. I think I can see it's lights communicating via morse code, signaling its urgent desire to what-are-you-doing-get-the-hell-out-of-here.
Only joking... joking.

neutral RP SESSION|:________________________
AIM RP, between Renault, Kheleksul, and Vashtya.... Unfortunately, Vash took too long "getting out of his house" that he didn't arrive till after Ren left. Noo... Wait, Vash didn't arrive at all. rofl Renault When Renault was going to enter the temple his legs started to weaken, "Ugh...that sure was a long walk...my legs are killing me! I'll just sit here for now" Renault saw a big enough rock to hold him and Sakis. "I wonder if anyone's here..." Renault then looked around to see if anyone was there Kheleksul It didn't take long for kheleksul to stash away her journal and carry her crystal past the antechamber. She glanced lazily at the door... the light should do Noire good. With a broad sweep of her hand, khel pushed past the door to the temple. Blinking at the attack of light at her corneas, she hugged her crystal closer to her chest. NinjaVashu: *chews* NinjaVashu: I eat zombies. NinjaVashu: n.n ekelak123: ........ ekelak123: HOW DARE YOU?!
Renault When Renault was getting something out of his bag, his ears perked to the sound of the temple doors opening. He looked around and saw a woman with a crystal held tightly in her hands. Ren got up, with Sakis in the same position as the woman and walked towards her. kheleksul Khel paused; is that another summoner? What in the bloody hell is he doing with a crystal?! Briefly, she wondered whether this was another summoner, or just one of Paper's "temporary guardians"... Renault " Hello." Renault said with a uneasy smile. "I see you have a crystal there. It's very lovely! A nice shade of blue also." Renault said with a grin. "Well anyways, I;m Renault. And you are?" kheleksul Khel almost hid her crystal behind her back before she realized this stranger had already commented on Noire. The incident would lend itself to endless humiliation; an impression she didn't want to tarnish this (apparently new) summoner. "Don't be inane. It's unbecoming. Of course our crystals are blue." Oops. That didn't come out well....ekelak123: ((*offers hand* Shall we daaaance dah-ling?)) NinjaVashu: ((*snorts*)) ekelak123: ((... That's a no? T3T)) NinjaVashu: ((it's a yes, in disguise?)) ekelak123: ((...*snorts*)) NinjaVashu: ((xD!))
Quote: Renault was shocked at the woman's outgoing personality. "Excuse me?" Renault said with a uneasy look on face seeing he didn't know what she meant. kheleksul She sighed. "They're elemental. Ice and water. Of course they're blue." A slight pause. "What is it with the living these days?! Their brain capacities seem to be diminishing with every breath they take!" Renault "Oh...ahahahaha!" Renault blushed seeing he just embarrassed himself in front of a total stanger! "Well anyways, my crystals' name is Sakis. What is yours? And I don't think you mentioned your name..." kheleksul The zombie appeared bored as she replied, "Sakis. Sounds Japanese. Does it mean anything?" Again, however, she ignored basic formalities, and neglected to provide this - Renault, was it? - her name. ekelak123: ((I EAT PIIIIE. domokun )) NinjaVashu: ((*snorts* pie ish taystee. *wants pie now* THANKSALOT)) ekelak123: ((*snerk* Deeelicious PIE! *presents Vash with PI*)) Cats Eye Cafe: [ pi? 3.14159265? ]
Renault "Hmmm...means nothing really. And yes, it's Japanese." Renault was kind of uneasy at the sight of the woman, she wasn't scary or bad or anything...just something was odd. He couldn't tell what. "So anyways...how are you this fine day? And what brings you up here to the temple?" kheleksul Khel quirked her head to a side, as she regarded the human. "I'm sure you routinely name prized possessions with meaningless, mundane, and pointless japanese characters. Should've know." "Today was perfectly fine. Until I found another human--you-- lurking around this temple." A quick glare. "I live here." Renault Renault wasn't liking the woman so far. She seemed a bit...mean... "I see...you live here." Renault looked away when she galred at him. Renault couldn't think of anything to talk about since she would probably reply in the same manner Renault gave up on talking to her and sat back down. "Ugh! My legs are killing me still!" He then started to look in his backpack. kheleksul It didn't take a genius to realize that khel was treating this new summoner... well, frankly, like crap. Shaking her head slightly, as if to remove the whisperings of a small voice from her head, khel hastily knelt besides the human. In a quiet voice, she explained: "It's not often I happen across someone who's willing to spend the time to talk to me." "If I may inquire: why the niceties? Why do you bother?" Renault Renault then heard a noise and swiftly turned around to see the woman crouching down. He listened to what she said and though, "Hmmm...that's odd..." Ren felt a little less uneasy about this and he whispered back, "Well, I like to make as many new friends as possible." "I guess something odd drew me to you and I just started to talk about anything that came to mind. I'm not quite sure though.: ekelak123: ((Hurr, Ren = cute. X3)) Cats Eye Cafe: [ XD? ] Cats Eye Cafe: [ saw my picchu at diwan or sumtin? o_____o ] ekelak123: ((Nuu... the "I like to make as many new friends as possible" is so naive and innocent... SO CUTE. TwT)) Cats Eye Cafe: [ XD;; ]
kheleksul Khel's head lowered, unconsciously, her hair falling over her face. Almost as if she were trying to hide... something. My features, I assume. "You got... the call?" Renault "Call? What call?" Renault was even more confused then he already was. kheleksul Kheleksul glanced pointedly at the crystal he clutched. "That call. Which other would I refer to?" She seemed slightly confused. Renault " Oh yes...that call. That CrystalGaurdian person gave it to me...she seems a little mysterious. Taking care of these crystals can be hard work once they change. I'm still a little unsure about how to take care of it!" "I mean take care of it when it changes that is." "Well, anyways, I have to leave. I'm glad I got to finally meet you! I hope to see you soon! Wait..before I go what is your name?" kheleksul A bemused smile flitted across her face. "If I give you my name, then we won't be strangers anymore." Renault "Isn't that a good thing?: kheleksul "I'm ... afraid I kind of like that status between us." Renault "Oh, I see..." renault said as his face fell. Ren said goodbye to the woman again and headed down the mountain. kheleksul She shook her head slightly. "Not your fault. Its only once every comet or so that I trust someone enough not to hurt me." She quirked her eyebrow at Renault's retreating back. It would be nice to have another friend....Renault Renault's ears perked as she again replied. He tilted his head slightly back just to see her again. Renault said under his breath "Oh...I see...I guess I was wrong about becoming friends." Then Rukia rode down the mountain. ekelak123: No wait. I need you to dance for me first. ekelak123: (Makes up for not being able to arpee, foo! XDDD) NinjaVashu: whut makes up for it? gonk *did nothing!* ekelak123: Exactly, daah-ling. You didn't arpee. wink ekelak123: Alls I need is a dance, and then you're free. >D NinjaVashu: *snorts* ekelak123: ... Is that a yes in disguise?! 8DDDD NinjaVashu: xDDDDD Result: Ren and khel are off to a rocky start. @w@! So... unlike real life. XD

Chipped Pearls of Wisdom: Do not try to feed a crystal. Not only can it not eat, but it does not appreciate the gesture. Soaking one's crystal in slightly hot water with cloves and spices creates interesting vibrations; I suspect Noire was agitated out of fear of denaturing. Although, really, a crystal would need very great temperatures to denature. Do NOT, in any circumstances, stroke your crystal. @@ The subsequent throbbing is enough to make anyone nauseous. Any lewd comments following such a reaction could result in a clobbering. Exposure of the crystal to the element it is tied with increases its familiarity with it, thus increasing its elemental power. ---> Current theory; is under immediate research!!!
Kheleksul's pen glided across her journal as she listed out the few lessons she'd recieved after accepting Bete Noire from the Guardian...
She snickered as a thought crossed her mind. Hey, why not?
Offerings of virgin maidens to the Temple will further increase the Crystal's power, and will increase the dwindling flow of spirits from the Nexus to Gaia.

. Well, it's been a while, Journal. Lets just say... it's been a chaotic few weeks. There's been idiots running around this forest, complete with flamethrowers fire mages. Talk about desecrating this land. How... rude.
I found, a couple of days ago, that my own crystal started enemating strong waves of magic. Pulsing waves, as though.... As though it were ready to unleashed. Well, if this weren't enough to convince me that I should hurry back to the temple.... A summoning circle appeared around Noire. Flashing blue light along its length, it seemed to ... call to me, begging me to release It from It's confines.
... And I was scared.
I didn't think it was possible for me, an undead, heartless beast, to be more scared than a wisp of a ghost-child of this responsibility.
So I made it wait.
I made my anxious, desperate, and utterly helpless crystal wait while I settled my personal scrupples. Even now, as I stare at my frantically flashing crystal, I hesitate. Maybe I'll bring her to the Summoning Chamber tomorrow....

Summoning...._________________CrystalGuardian So soon after the previous summoning, and already the runes in the room were flashing - urgently at that. Elemental magic pulsed through the room, surging from one rune to the next... and only gaining momentum with every cycle around the cloister.
An unearthly (and vaguely annoyed) voice called out, "Come forth, kheleksul, and bear your long-awaiting crystal to the alter." The words were accentuated by the crashing and pounding of unseen waves, resonating throughout the chamber in anticipation.... kheleksul kheleksul shuffled forward before hesitantly uncovering her crystal. Her hand hovered over the altar. I'm ready for this. I can handle this sort of responsibility. As her crystal came down resolutely over the stone mount, the runes flashed blindingly before fading to a muted glimmer as they senses the beginnings of the summoning spell. She barely shot a glance over at the Guardian, who's shadowy form drew towards the crystal. CrystalGuardian Crowning the glowing shard with its brilliant light, the summoning circle descended upon the crystal, swirling downwards in an almost lazy spiral. As the circle made its way down the length of the shard, the glyphs etched on the walls flared back to life.... only now, rather than just glowing, the runes were shimmering. Shimmering... and surging in some sort of fluid motion.
... Water elemental ...
A hum, barely detectable, started to build, keeping tempo with the rapidly brightening shard, both in intensity and volume until CRACK! Light bent and formed itself into a serpent. The blindingly white form threw back its head and screeched loudly as its body solidified.
... The hum died down to nothingness again ... kheleksul Mouth agape and hands trembling uncontrollably, kheleksul reached out to touch her Elysian. Vaguely, she wondered Exactly what was I afraid of?! In a low voice, she murmered, "Hello, Bete Noire. I'm kheleksul... and I have been your guardian for the past few months." Carefully lifting the tiny serpent from the altar, kheleksul draped the weak and tired Elysian along her shoulders. Nodding her respect to the Guardian (Goodness, what would've happened if she was not there to oversee these summonings?), she slipped past the large stone doors which separated the summoning cloister from the more frequented rooms of the temple. CrystalGuardian Another summoning completed; the Guardian gathered the dull shard in her hands before eyeing the Prime Crystal... and wondered how many more Elysians would manage to escape from Aesolon'Reaux.

Hello, Journal;
I haven't seen Leviathan in a while. I think she's getting a bit disheartened, or that she's feeling depressed. Either way, it's been a while, and I'm starting to get worried. If she'd had a familiar, I would at least have some clue where Bete Noire could be....
You don't suppose she doesn't like undead flesh, do you?
Maybe she doesn't like the smell......
Though, most likely, she just likes spending time around her element, rather than mooching around in the Temple. In the meanwhile, I'll just remind myself to send out a couple of notices, asking around if anyone's seen Noire.
