Me and my friends pronounce it 'yow-ee'. Because that rhymes with wowie. And as such, yaoi is wowie.

I've always said it like "yow-ee" but I think that's the mispronunciation. Soo... I'mma try and start saying it the right way now. XD

I say it as 'Yow-ee' as in 'Yowee! My a**!"

At first I would pronounce yaoi as "yah-oy". But then my brother told me it's pronounced "yow-ee". I believe he's pretty good with the pronuciation of the japanese letters...

I know Japanese pronounciation, but I've always pronounced it "yay-oh" - probably because I didn't know how to pronounce it when I first read it and my initial idea stuck with me. So anyway, I was talking to someone about it not long ago and they were like "what? ya-oh-ee you mean?". I just nodded a little shamefacedly, I hate being wrong... Lol.
