Purr felt her self-restraint falter a bit as she felt his lips against her forehead. Why was this so hard? Why did she always feel the need to be loved by someone? Why couldn't she be happy on her own?
She reached out and took the hankerchief, pulling the soft fabric between her slender fingers before dabbing her cheeks.
"No, Oberon...he doesn't deserve to die. To say Oberon deserves to die is to say I do. I guess... I guess I finally just got a taste of my own medicine. At least, from how I used to be. It scarey... how quickly I was ready to fall back into that role. It felt to natural."

Ah, logic. It provided such a blessed cushion. "He was still rude, arrogant, and I despised him," Mori noted calmly, pulling out a cigarette in one of his favorite pastimes- examining it to see how it worked. The slender white cylinder flipped through his fingers, and his eyes followed it dreamily. "You were arrogant, wicked, and seductive- but that can be excused, I think. At least you were rarely rude."
He paused, biting his lip and glancing up as the cigarette stilled in his fingers. "How...is Mordath, Purr? I have heard nothing of either of you since I returned to the surface of my sanity."

Purrpurr took a sudden interested in the grass, and began to pick excessively at the green blades, shredding them between her fingernails. "I slept with him," she blurted out. She didn't know why she felt the need to share that with him. Especially him. It was probably the need to tell someone. She wanted to tell Mordath, but the words never came. He didn't seem too interested in what made her so upset anyway. He was too anxious to get home to Roth.
Speaking of... after a moment, Purr looked up slightly. "With Oberon, I mean. Not Mordath...he's fine. I guess. Probably with Roth now..." she mumbled out, turning her attention back to the grass and blinking back embarassed tears.

"Why doesn't that surprise me?" Morion replied dryly, shaking his head a little over his last memories of the...charming Astaroth. Gold eyes examined the cigarette with the same care his companion wass giving the grass; the uncertainty in the air was absolutely painful. "He hurt you," he added softly. "He saw you as he sees all ladies in general, and you were an easy target. He has no right to call himself a gentleman- and the only Crown he can claim is that of the tempestuous Sidhe. No one else would take such churlish behavior."
The dragon's head lifted to offer a soft smile to his dearest friend, and he sighed. "In all honesty, though, it changes nothing of my opinion of you," he spoke gently. "I still believe you to be the strong lady I have always known- I do not think anything could change that."

Purr cautiously looked up. "Really?" She didn't know whether to be releaved or a bit... dissapointed he didn't seem more upset. She continued to pluck at the grass, but with more a difiant tone than nervous fidgeting. "He's remarried. To some stuck up Sidhe lady I knew in my reien. She always had her eye on the crown." Purr's eyebrows knit, thinking on that. She shrugged it off. "Thank you," she said quietly, almost a whisper.

That...was quite enough of that. No matter what he believed of himself, he simply couldn't stand by and watch her like this for a moment longer; strong arms reached out to pull her close. It felt right to be so near her- a small shard of his heart that had been long out of place. "Yes. I DO believe it- because I have always had such faith in you, your ability to lead, and the strength of character and personality that has made you such an incredible lady," he whispered, closing his eyes. Head bowed, he took a deep breath as he realized he believed every word; he didn't need to be in love with her to adore her.
"Never let yourself settle so low again," he whispered harshly. "You are their Queen, no matter what power-mongering whore he puts on the throne. You must prove to them anew what a true Queen should be."

Purr was stiff at first, but being in the arm of someone who seemed to actually care felt so good. She quickly leaned into his touch, wrapping her arms about him and hugging him tight. Why did this have to feel so right, she throught to herself as she took a deep breath, breathing in the long-missed smell of him.
She pulled back after a moment and gave him a smile. "Thank you, Morion..."

"I know how hard this is," he continued quietly, hands sliding down her arms to grip eher slender fingers. "I also know that I caused so much of what you have endured- I do not know what I am, who I am, even now. I do not know if I will ever be someone you can put your faith in again...but I hope to someday be the Knight you depended on."
A quick smile lit his features, flashing across his dark skin. "At the least, I want to be there when Mordath does greivous harm to our beloved King Oberon."

Purrpurr smiled and gently squeezed his hands, keeping the hold on them. She gave slight nod. "Maybe we can... take things slow for a while... I.. I mean. I want what you say to be true. I want it to be true so bad, Morion...

The pain of her doubt was almost too much to bear- but he would be strong. He had a reputation- and several friendships- to rebuild. "I know. I will do what I can to re-earn your faith, Lady."
He frowned, then, looking off into the distance past the iridescence of her wings. "I do have a task set before me, however. Much as I would like to storm the bastions of Oberon's foul supremacy at your side, with Mordath and Astaroth carrolling hymns to chaos in the background...the Lady Airi is fading. I have taken up the task of finding Lady Anya and repairing the rift between them."

Purrpurr blinked. "Lady Airi? What's happening?" Purr has been gone for so long.. she felt so out of the loop.

"I don't...really know," Morion replied hesitantly, getting to his feet to pace. The cigarette n his hand was like a prop, helping him focus as he gestured with it. "I went to see her with Britain- my new Guardian- and Gods, Purr, she looked so very frail...apparently Anya left quite some time ago, and she has been fading like any of us could. And have. I am not certain at all what caused this dreadful situation, but it may stem from a disagreement between the two."
He turned back to her, determination narrowing his vivid eyes. "I cannot simply let her fade away. There must be something we can do- SIlver has already invited himself on the trek to locate Anya." He rolled his eyes at this, but it was an affectionate gesture. "I will need a Seer, so I hope to invite Anen...and perhaps Riven, and anyone else who wishes to come. Your company would be refreshing...though I know you are likely busy trying to catch up with what you have missed."

Purr's whole demeanor seemed to pick a up. An adventure.. that involved saving someone instead of covert overtaking... perhaps it was just something like this she needed. "I actually would love to help, however I can..."

Morion's eyes lit up like pure gold, and he spun back to her with one of the first truly bright smiles he'd worn since his return. "Truly?!" He exclaimed, kneeling to peer into her eyes as if delving for the truth. "Would you truly wish to join us, Purr? My oath, that the trip would be far more pleasant with your company to lighten the road."

She smiled, getting excited. "Yes! I've known Lady Anya and Airi for so long.. I would feel horrible not helping them. Something that helps someone else.. I've never really felt like I made much a difference ..."
