Silently he followed after her, tail swaying across the ground behind him. He wondered to himself what she wanted to show him. Was she leading him to the 'cubs' she had been talking about?
Ears lowered against the sound of the falls, his head ducked against the spray of water, Keone followed her to the den. He paused at the entrance for a moment, blinking in a silent question before following her inside, settling on his haunches just inside the entrance.
As he sat there, one could almost see his mind working, ears twitching, tail flicking with each thought as he tried to make sense of all that she had said.
"So...there's going to be little leopards...I mean cubs...and...we're going to take care of them?"
Eureka, he got it.
"So then...where are these cubs coming from?"
Okay, so maybe he didn't get it.

"Yeah, or they.. die. " She blinked, suddenly worried she woulden't be able to raise cubs, shaking it of with a small shrug of her shoulders.
Shegulped slightly at his next question, this was the part that worried her most, quite sure it hurt, alot. She knew were they were know, but when the time came, the way to take him out startled her, even though instinct would make her do it. She flicked her tail towards her larger belly, looking past Keone, eyes blank.
"From there.. They're inside me. " She said quietly.

"D...die?"
Keone was sure he didn't like that word at all, dismissing it with a vigorious shake of his head.
"Then we will take good care of them."
He emphaised his statement with a nod of his head, perhaps the most serious and dertermined look he had ever show in his eyes. But it was a look that was soon to find, to be replaced once again by confusion and then by horror.
"In...inside you?"
His eyes widened, he stared at her for a moment, then stood to his paws, pacing in a circle, tail flicking nervously. That didn't sound like a cub...that sounded like...like...a monster. There was a monster inside Karama?! It was going to eat her!

She grinned when he said they'd take care of the cubs, releived, only to find her explanation of 'were they were', seemingly have.. provoqued undesired reactions.
"Uh.. Yeah.. They come out.. and whenthey do they can't see, and they can't hear that well either.. " She looked around uneasly, settling herself more comfortably in the grass to try and seem like there was no problem.

"Come out? ....how do they come out?"
The little leopard whined pitifully, circling again, his tail dragging on the floor of the cave. Nervouslly he walked over to her, quietly lowering his head to brush against her neck. Monsters...there were monsters inside Karama, they were going to eat her...what was he going to do?
"But...but...they're not gonna eat you are they?"

She ignored his first questions, not quite wanting to explain how they come out, that made her freakishly uncomfortable.
The headbutted his shoulder affectionatly when he came and nuzzled her, only to pull back slightly at his question, looking slightly amuset, tail flicking.
"Of course not, " She purred, or the closest thing a leopard could get towards a purr, leaning forewards again to nuzzle her beloved male. "Its not a bad thing, rust me. " But as she said this, she wasen't uite sure if she was conforting Keone-- or herself. And once again, unease prickled through hre neat, dark-brown fur.

"Are you sure?"
He didn't seem quite convinced, his tail flicking about nervously, ears low against his skull. Whining again, he layed next to her, his head nuzzling into her neck, taking some comfort from her purr. She semed to know more about this than him, so he would just have to trust her for now.
"Okay."
But he still didn't like the idea of monsters inside her.

She smiled. "I'm sure. " She said, nuzzling him before resting her head on his shoulders, closing her eyes.
But as she closed her eyes, she didn't find she was tired, at all. It was something different, everyone felt it eventually.
"I'm hungry. " She said bluntly, eyes half opening. The bad thing about pregnancy? You got hungrier, hurrah.

A faint smile crossed his paw, a barely audible purr rumbling in his throat. He still wasn't sure about this whole cubs and monsters thing, but he felt a bit better, a bit reassured by Karama's confidence...or at least she was more confident than he was.
When she spoke again, his ears perked, and he lifted his head to look at her.
"You're hungry? I could go get you a fish?"
His voice had a cheerful tone in it, he was always happy to hunt fish for Karama.

A fish sounded good, and she got to her paws, smiling. "That'd be nice, " She said, even though feeling slightly guilty for not catching her own stuff.
"But do fish really come up here? Dosen't the waterfall.. bother them? " She asked, head cockingslightly to the side, she always supposed fish evoided messy water.

The leopard nodded, standing to his paws and taking a step toward the cave entrance.
"Sure, fish are in all parts of the river, they're just harder to catch."
It was true fish grew bigger and were far easier to catch in the calmer waters. For one thing you could see them better, and it was easier to stalk them when you were fighting the current yourself. The fish that lived in the current were often smaller and younger, the swift waters being the ideal place for the young to grow safe from most predators. Beyond that, the small leopard would have to be especially careful least he be caught in the current himself and swept into the rocks. But Keone was a good fisher, and he would bring back plenty of fish for Karama.
"Do you wanna wait here? Or do you wanna come with me?"
He smiled at her, purring softly as he nuzzled her once more before stepping through the entrance, pausing to see if she would follow him or wait here in the den.

The leopardess rises to her paws as he does, following him out of the den and shaking out her dark fur. "I'll come, its boring to sit around in there. " She indicated with an ear towards the den they'd just left.
"Sure you don't wanna go to an easier place to fish? " She always felt so pathetic when she needed someone else to do things; it wasen't likely that she'd hunt well now, and her fishing skills were as dull as a hyena's.

He waited for her to catch up, taking a few steps toward the nearby water before pausing to look back at her. That seemed like a silly question to him, if she was hungry now wouldn't she prefer to have fish from here?
"Huh? Well I guess if you want, but I don't mind fishing here."
He smiled at her, perhaps trying to reassure her. He didn't mind fishing in the swift waters, it was a change of pace and a challenge. Besided the fish here tasted different, maybe she would have liked a change?

[clor=darkred]She shrugged, to her, walking around seemed nice, but Keone was probably already finding her weird.
"Here's fine, just wanted to know if you wanted to go there. " She said, moving to stand next to him, she wanted to go in and fish too, but she was not the best swimmer, and in the current, she would just scare fish away from Keone just to remain with her head over the water.

Purring, he nuzzled against her once more, perhaps trying to reassure her and show her that he really didn't mind fishing in the swift water.
"You'll like the fish from here, besides, here I might be able to find you something special."
A silly little grin on his maw, the leopard trotted to the water's edge. Crouching on his front paws, he sniffed at the smooth stones, scanning just under the water's surface, something had caught his eye. In the crook of two rocks, a small crevice sheltered from the current, a large mass of something that looked like bubbles floated peacefully in the calm. He poked at it with his paw, assuring himself that it was what he thought it was before turning back to look at Karama with a grin.
"You ever tried eating these?"
Fish eggs, a rare tastey treat, though he likely didn't know that's what they were. Maybe Karama would like them to?
