TheSixStringKid Bob Dylan - House of the Rising Sun, Its one of the first songs I ever learned to play. The most overplayed song that I've ever heard played is Bush - Glycerine. Actually, It's not Bob Dylan's song, and do you use the arrangmement Am, C, D, F Am, C, D ?
Because if you do, that Dave Van Ronk's arrangement.

It depends, if it's on acoustic I always spend like 2 weeks playing 3 songs repeatedly and nothing else. Recently: Fallout boy - Nobody puts baby in the corner José Gonzalez - Heartbeats John Frusciante - Your Warning
But then I get on my electric and either just play aload of scales or I just improvise random riffs.
Or anything by chili's sweatdrop

Id have to say probably the beginning riffs of Welcome home by Coheed and Cabria (by a close call). Other than that probably All the Small Things by Blink 182 or Smells like Teen Spirit by Nirvana.

o yeah i forgot about crazy train. Also i think over all smoke on the water is the biggest starting guitarist cliche ever. lol. My first song was Longview by Greenday, but most people that "play guitar" im my school are, well, lets say it nicely:*cough cough posers cough cough* always say "o i can play smoke on the water" and think they can actually play guitar and are so cool.
