"Then I guess I have to stay," Kari replied, smiling back at Hasidi. She didn't seem to mind how forward he was being, and she was more than pleased to stay with him for now, especially since it would make him better, and happy. She turned around in the water to face him as he explained where he was from and his family, she was a little surprised to hear of his family but his wishing for his mother made more sense now.

"South, that'd be east of here, probably," she said thoughtfully, the cheetah knew where the coalition was, and that was south west of the Pridelands. How far east one would have to go to get to these.. Kusini'mwezi lands was a mystery, though. Kari started when he mentioned where cubs come from, wondering why he'd mention it, but she smiles when she's told she isn't scary. What a relief, that meant she wasn't doing that bad despite being injured and being bossy (in her opinion).

The water hole was very calm, and if memory served Kari it did get deep in the middle. Of course, the shallow seemed more shallow than she remembered, having grown up some since. She didn't intend to go out far anyway, instead she wandered out a little deeper and looked back to see if Hasidi would come. The water was almost up the whole length of her leg, and her tail was floating along behind her. She wasn't aware of how scabbing might affect cleaning, and she would never dare consider opening wounds for any reason. She just had to hope this helped.

"I told you once of Shairi, the pnik cheetah I mistoke you for? She is the reason I am traveling. She told me of wanderful things, and I wanted to see those things, but above all I wanted to find my mother's starting place," he mused alloud to her as he edged his way towards her slowly his paws feeling out each step before he put his full weight into it.

"I think being attacked by hyenas actually made me smarter," he joked and looked up at her. He had not been able to say so much to another person before, especially things that make sense, "I am usually called dumb or dopey.. I am a little," he admited.

His slow moving finally caught him up to her, although she wasn't far away, he was terrified and he must have looked like an idiot with his caution. His legs hurt, but the water was a good thing, he wanted to get his wounded shoulder and back wet but was still too cautious.

"Really?" Kari asked curiously, wondering what kind of things Shairi must have told him. Hasidi seemed like the kind who would be happy to stay at home, until he mentioned what he wanted to find above all else. "Have you had any luck yet? Found anything you wanted to see?"

She waved a paw through the water for a moment, looking back up when Hasidi joked about the hyenas making him smarter. "Um, if you say so. I don't think you're dumb or dopey at all!" She added the last part with a confident nod, no one would want to be dumb. Kari didn't think any less of him for his caution, but instead continued to nod encouragingly as he did come closer. Her violet eyes went to the wounds on his back, then back to his face. He'd have to get deeper, or kneel..

"I wish I could thank her, but I gues I have another pink cheetah to thank instead," the cheesy grin was unmistakably his trademark, "I have found no one that knows of my mother or my sisters. It is like they never existed or I imagined them."

"Thank you, I think you're smart too!" Nice one..Hasidi.. going to catch the girl that way. Taking the plung he stopped edging towards her, closed his eyes, and with an awkward jump dove into the deeper part of the water.

As his head surfaced his eyes were wide and childlike, for being in Africa the water sure was coooold! "Burr! I'll freeze!"

"Oh?" Kari giggled at Hasidi's remark, grinning. She was pleased to see his trademark smile again, it was much, much better than the dead seeming pile he was before. Her smile brightened when he said she was also smart, but then her expression changed to curious.

"Ah!" she squeaked when he suddenly leapt into the deeper part of the water, splashing her in the process. The waves and splashing was not, however, enough to knock her over into the water. She started to laugh, watching him come up, open his eyes and shiver.

"Cold, is it?" Kari called through a laugh, stepping towrds him carefully rather than diving all at once. She gave a small shiver as she got deeper, but stopped short. The water was just over her belly, and there she stood watching Hasidi.

He nodded to each and everyone of her quizzical statements, being near a person he could trust made his hurt go away. He could still feel the physical pain, but it was not as bad as it seemed. He crouched down into the water so that every wound was covered, and his head was the only thing protruding from the water.

There was no doubt these wounds would become infected if he did not soak them in the water, but even then there was a chance. "It hurts, did yours her this bad?" He compared himself to her, thinking that she had gone through a similar experience. Maybe later no down the road they could trade exact stories, he would probably leave teh urinating himself out.

"Do you think...that once this is all over with…you and me.. I mean...could I spend more time with you?" His way of asking for a /cat date/, "You're so nice and I'd like to get to know you?"

Goodness I do hope he does not become a horndog like so many recent Pridelander boys! He is wounded and still trying to impress and get the girl, will he learn better?

Kari watched Hasidi as he went deeper, starting when he fell to just below his head. It seemed that his anxiety got the better of her, but she quickly recovered and smiled at him. He was doing well, and that made her happy. She took a couple steps in further, getting deeper but not nearly as deep as him. No doubt where he was would be over her head, so she was a fair distance away.

"Yes," she answered his question with a nod, swirling around her injured paw in the water, "It hurt at first, but it gets better. You'll get better." Believing is half the battle, of course. She had to say what she thought he wanted to hear, and what she wanted to think. The specifics of the attack were unknown, and she was sure his hurt a lot more but she wasn't about to say so.

When Hasidi asked to spend time with her, her eyes widened in surprise. She hadn't expected that, and something inside made her beam at him. "Sure," she agreed, liking the idea herself, not just agreeing because he asked to.

"I'm tired," he muttered suddenly and a long feline yawn escaped him. He was feeling safe, and being safe led to being quite tired, "Think I'm clean enough?" To emphasize teh fact he dipped his body back into the water and help his breath to be sure that every inch of him was covered.

Surfacing he let out a gasp and a cub like giggle wiggled it's way from inside him, she said he could stay around AND said that he would feel better, how could anything go better? He waited patiently for her to say it was okay to get out.

Kari did a small circle around in the water, taking a moment to enjoy herself rather than just watch. It was nice to be in the water, have light feet and to be in such a pleasant mood all of a sudden. She looked back at Hasidi when he yawned, asked a question and ducked under.

"If you think you are, and you're tired," she replied, "We can get out of the water." The small cheetah started to back up a little bit, waiting to see if he wanted to leave or not.

the comment that it was alright to get out Hasidi practically ran to the shallow and on to the bank. His fear of the rivers from home was instilled into him, and although it was nice to get clean he was done with the water. He wasn't a large adolescent by any means, but not a small little boy any more either. His teeth chattered as he glanced at Kari.

"Burr! It's cold here too! I never thought I would be cold in these lands!" He shivered slightly as well and as the shivers came his body began to ache again, a sudden need for sleep again overcame him, but he was not about to collapse right there, not infront of her. "Are you cold?"

Kari followed after Hasidi, only at a slower pace. She limped out onto the grass, shaking the water from her fur and gingerly from her injured paws. She smiled at him, until he chattered his teeth, which caused her to frown a bit. Still cold. She shivered, not too chilly herself but sympathetic. It didn't even cross her mind it could be partly from his injuries, she had no knowledge of such things.

"Yeeeah," she agreed and nodded fervently, admitting to cold she didn't really feel. The cheetah lifted her head high, shaking mildly as she shifted her weight to her back paws. There must be somewhere nice to go so he wouldn't be as cold. Blocking the wind might help.

"Follow me," Kari murmured, thinking of a decent sheltered place to go finally. She limped off in the direction she'd first been coming from when she found Hasidi.

Wow! She was taking charged! He needed someone to push him around everyonce and a while, limping--not his normal limp a more 'wabblely' limp he followed after her, all of the movement was going to make him scream in pain later, but that didn't matter. He was ready to follow her anywhere at this point. She had a agreed to let him stay around and she was being nice, what more could a lion need? Was it natural for his sudden...want of a cheetah female? Certainly it wasn't love this early in the game?

"Where are you headed?" he murmured and walked/limped along beside her tiredy.

Kari didn't think of it as taking charge, merely as helping him to get what he wanted. He really didn't seem to like the cold, and this would help! She moved at a slow pace, letting Hasidi catch up to her so they'd walk side by side. Her eyes were kept open so they could find it quickly, so he wouldn't have to walk far.

"There're some trees by another small water hole," the cheetah replied brightly, "It'd better shelter than out here with no trees. It shouldn't be real far."

A huff-puff sound came from deep within his lungs and he was hoping she was right. Her head was spinning and it wouldn't take long for him to fall asleep after they stopped somewhere to rest. The earthy red male was beat, literally as well as figuratively, his creamy colored cheeks were muddied with blood and dirt the blush that had continually returned to his face seemed to have faded away for now.

The usual twinge of pain at seeing someone slow their pace for him did not go unnoticed, but in this instance it was welcome. Any other moment he would start getting huffy but he knew he was in no shape for that, and that she WAS doing it for his well being.

"I think I see them?" he gestured slowly to a group of trees, There?"

Kari didn't need to hear Hasidi to know this wasn't easy for him, and that among other things he was probably tired out. Uncomfortable sleep barely counted as sleep in her opinion, after all. She hoped he'd be more comfortable by the trees. Her gaze was off in the wrong direction when Hasidi pointed out a group of trees, and her head turned immediately to where he gestured.

"What?" She asked, squinting and nodding quickly, "That's it! See, almost there." Without realizing it, she picked up the pace a little bit, eager to get there. Her limp kept her from going too fast, but she was pleased to see the trees.
