A rather large, covered cage is slowly pushed on deck, its iron wheels squeaking very loudly and the men pushing it up were straining. Chances are, the thing in that stout cage was the hippopotamus.
Alphonse shook the hand of the German and ushered him down onto the dock, motioning for the other two to follow suit. "Alphonse Moreau," he gave a nod to the boy, and when Etienne's turn came for introductions... well.
The man froze, and furrowed his brows in confusion. "Who are you? I don't recall ever corresponding with a Frenchman for arrival on this ship."

"Didn't you?" Etienne asks, his bleary eyes going wide behind his spectacles. They flicker with worry for a few moments, as he first thinks perhaps he forgot thanks to some cruel trick of his assorted vices... but it fades once he remembers that no, they did not.
"They found me," he says at last. "In a sense. Is that bad?"

Archibald sat for a moment before standing up and starting to pace slowly back and forth. He was nervous, of course. Would Cybele be all right? He loved her so much.
But still, this was a new adventure for him! ... and there wouldn't be anymore of those stupid Whigs.

Edwin eyed the "boy" strangely, slapping him on the back. "Don't do that. Your a man, little boy." Then he muttered, "Or at least you will be."
He then turned back to Alphonse, taking a moment to ensure his hippopotamus wasn't about to come to harm. "Uh, he's not aktually with me." he said, motioning to the boy, "We met the bot, but I'm thinkink he'll be okay once his voice cracks."
