Speaking of Alliance bitches, does anyone understand why people are so pissy about the whole Alliance shammy/Horde pally thing?

It's a distinction thing. The Alliance had paladins, the Horde had shamans. Both sides being the same renders the difference between the sides smaller. That's what I've been told.

It kind of bastardizes any of the nationalism of the game, if you will. As I've understood Warcraft, Starcraft, and other similar games over the years, a great deal of pride rests upon which race you use. Just try telling someone who uses Dark Elves that The Undead are better. You could very likely be slapped. As WoW already took part of that by making the gameplay basically identical as it is an RPG and therefore one no longer needs to orchestrate extremely grand strategies and merely must concentrate on the strengths and weaknesses of their own player, giving the other side the one unique unit the race has is taking away what little preference there is to be had. That's my take on it anyways.
I may purchase this game at some point, but part of me fears that if I do I'll never leave it what with my girlfriend off at college and this being my senior year in high school; it would be hard for me to convince me of a reason to get off other than talking to said girlfriend. And coming on here of course, but until Gaia gets that battle system up I fear that my love of violence may win out. xp

I'm a FFXI player at heart, even though I played CoH/CoV for a quite a while. I did play WoW for a month, but I quit to refocus on working on my two-year old FFXI character. I have a a lot of RL friends who play all over, but most of them are on Cenarian Circle (sp?), so I end up learning a lot about WoW, 'cause that's what they like talking about the most.

There's a bit of Lore problems as well. Blizzard had to discard much of the Lore for WoW as it was. The Alliance wasn't supposed to have Warlocks, Shaman or Shadow Priests. The Horde wasn't supposed to have Holy Priests or Paladins.

They keep having to get rid of the Faction-based Lore, so the players who are more into the "story" are annoyed over this loss as well.

Hell, Blood Elves shouldn't even BE part of the Horde. They hate the trolls more than any other race in Azeroth.

Blizzard would likely force renames of the characters anyway. They're pretty good about getting rid of names that "ruin the RP environment."

Unless it's a priest. I've seen so very many priests named "Ihealzu" or some variant of it.

Also, while I do play WoW, I get maybe one free night a week to play lately, if even that. So there's no way I'd be able to keep up with a level cap. Sorry. crying

As an addendum: I won't be able to keep up with a level cap, but I'd be willing to roll on a new server and play when I can. Let me know what server gets picked, and I'll go for an Undead Priest.

As far as pallys go, my opinion is that if you can roll a lawful evil paladin in D&D the same way you can roll a lawful good one I really can't see how they justify it in WoW. But really, when it comes to the Draeni, they shouldn't even be in the game. Space pallys? b***h please. Gimme pandarens.

So we've got Miggy, Pym, Spiral, George, and me?

I named my main Shaman Tauren, Curunir. After Sauraman's elvish name. I also made some characters based off of Shazam's name.
