Xagarath Ankor No, there's a specific one for the arcade machine that ran Segasonic. I think it was called the System 32, but I'm not sure. The emulator I use is called Modeler, I think. I checked, and it was Modeler I tried - although I have a copy of MAME, too, which is what threw me for a moment. Still didn't work, though. P.S. Got your e-mail. Will reply sometime over the weekend.

I think I had to mess around with the configuration to get mine working, but I'm not sure- I'll check for you.

New news peoples:
STREETS OF RAGE 1, 2 & 3 and BONANZA BROTHERS will be included in the game ^__^
EDIT by Nuala: I can and will vouch for the info being at the link you gave, but I'm removing it in case there're any general board Mods passing. I think that the Amy/Rouge lesbian sex gifs and the misogynistic trash that is the Amy Gets Circumsised fic in the feedback forum are well over the PG13 limit around here - not just, on a personal level, something that I find incredibly distasteful.

Wha, Gamecube only?!..Son of a...Blast you and your treachery, Sega!!
Oy...I suppose one can hope that Gems Collection will do like Mega Collection did and eventually make its way to the PS2 and Xbox, eh? :/
Sonic CD and R are ones I can live without (seeing as I've played both to death...plus I appear to have lost my touch with Sonic R...), but Fighters and Tails' Adventure are ones that I've been dyin' to play (I'll take controlling Tails' contraptions over chasing some stupid witch anyday :p).

Bad news for Americans. No Streets of Rage or Japanese soundtrack for you. SoA has confirmed that the improved American soundtrack to Sonic CD shall be included on the collection, and that in order to maintain an E rating, the Streets of Rage trilogy is dropped.
No confirmation on the PAL version.
Note that US is Gamecube exclusive, whereas the UK and Japanese releases each have PS2 releases. This could be a good sign, but nothing is certain, yet.
I'd like to point out SoA's hypocritical irony here, though. maintaining an E rating?
Sonic is family friendly, right, gotta keep it all nice and kiddified, I mean this game is just a starter course for the next release... SHADOW THE T RATED HEDGEHOG!
Seriously, Japan is pushing for Sonic to be marketable to all ages worldwide, but America is fighting to keep it a kiddy specific thing. What the hell is going on here? This is pathetic!

Yes, but we're dealing with two very different cultures. Even without the lack of stigma attached to comic books, cartoons et al in the West, Japan has always been more open and willing to suggest that children can handle more difficult themes or imagery at younger ages. If the "middle America" watchdogs see so much as a lady wearing her skirt above her ankle or someone saying "d*mn", they go berserk. There's a difference.

And in any case, the US does have a gun control lobby - it's just that as far as I can fathom, it's not all that common amongst the God-fearing soccer moms. sad (I could go into considerable detail on this, but I'll stay brief for now.)

I will never understand why Vectorman was so popular during the latter years of the Genesis days. I played it on a Sega Genesis collection disc for my DC, and I didn't think it was anything special at all. I thought it was, well, bland; bland story, bland character design, bland music, bland everything. Of course, it also kicked my a** and I didn't get very far, but it didn't hold my interest at all.
But that's okay, I still really want Sonic Gems Collection JUST for Sonic CD and Sonic the Fighters, having never played either of them and wanting to very badly.
I played Sonic R on my PC; it was bleh, but I liked the music in spite of its cheesiness.

I see them as the Genesis equivalent of DKC... pretty graphics, average game.

Keptan ...I played Sonic R on my PC; it was bleh, but I liked the music in spite of its cheesiness. I have to admit to a love of that music as well. I have quite a lot of it lurking in the car - even a traffic jam isn't so bad with "Back in Time" playing smile DW
