DragonStar doesn't really answer the question, but he appears to accept it well enough. At the next, the granite-and-diamond feli's ears twitch. "Well ... whenever you want, really. It'll be a hike, though so we should probably get some supplies from the kitchen before we go." He looks in a better mood at the suggestion, however.

Saii
"Let's go now!" Her excitement was clearly evident, as she giggles, making a dash towards the kitchen. After being cooped up in the feli house in such a long period of time, April was anxious for an adventure. It had been so long since she's been exploring! ..Somewhat.

April doesn't really bother to wait for Drago until she reaches the kitchen, struck with the sudden realization of having no idea what to bring, or how to bring the food. It would be a long flight...and April wanted to be as prepared as possible. But having no experience of going on such adventures, she turns to her mate, with a sheepish look on her face. Plainly April didn't know what to do.

winterfalcon
A wry ghost of a grin flickers up onto DragonStar's features as he watches April, and, in a lazily practiced manner, he swings himself up onto all fours, swaggering after her, shoulders slightly hunched over, as usual, head carried low -- a gesture that might look threatening to some, suspicious to others. But it's just Drago's surly personality shining through.

He ducks into the feli flap, and jogs languidly into the kitchen, noting April's confusion with another wry look. He jumps up onto one of the counters, and noses around in one of the cupboards. He drags out two sturdy-looking leather packs, oddly crafted. It looks like they're made to be carried by felis ... and not getting in the way of the wings, no less. They fall to the countertop with a bump, and Drago noses them over the edge onto the floor.

Saii
April merely grins and watches in curiosity towards the two packs that dropped onto the ground. Jeez, Drago sure how to travel...
Sniffing cautiously at one of the packs, the opening gets nudged open, and dust flies out, causing her to sneeze a small, "Chu~*". Falling onto her rump, she only blinks at Drago, still not sure of what to bring. "What kinda food are we bringing?" Meat would spoil... there was fruit... but was that all? She never did look through the refridgerator carefully, nor did she have any experience of living the outdoors. Hunting would be out of the question for her. After all...easy life in the house could do this to a feli...

winterfalcon
As the dust rises to his level, DragonStar breaks off chortling at April to sneeze as well, wrinkling his nose. He lightly jumps down onto the floor, opening the packs with an expert muzzle. He glances over towards her, slightly impressed. "Well, we'll bring some tinned fruit ... probably peaches ... but not too much, that'll really weigh us down. It's what we'll eat up first. But other than that, dried biltong -- it's a type of meat -- is always good. It won't spoil, and it's filling, if bland. We'll need a good supply of water, too, at all times ... we'll have to fill up several times along the way, there's only two canteens here. And dixies, to eat out of ... but we can also find things along the way, cress and mushrooms and acorns and all sorts of things. I'll show you." He rummages through the cupboards carefully, nudging out what he thinks they'll need as he does so.

Saii

She bursts out laughing at him as he sneezes during his mid laugh, only to sneeze again herself. Oye, stupid dust. April almost seems overwhelmed by all the information hitting her at once. Of course, she had no idea what some of his terms meant...such as dixies...cress, but she merely shrugs. Drago obviously knew what he was doing, so April merely does her share of helping by placing one, or two of each item in their bags. It all seemed to complicated! "Did you do all of this when you went exploring by y..yourself?"

winterfalcon

"No," DragonStar says, as he packs food into the haversacks, " ... and it almost killed me, too. I didn't know what things were edible and what weren't. Fortunately, I met up with an old traveling feli, and he sternly explained some things to me ... such as how to live off the land, and what you should bring to be prepared. It's stupid to go out not knowing, if you know there's a chance you could get lost or it's a long trip, like ours is. Some plants are poisonous, while others are good to eat. I can show you some things along the way.

Saii

She pauses from the packing, casting a... look at Drago before turning back, packing a bit faster. "So you ...you almost did die out there?" Biting her lip, April focuses on the packing, feeling tons of emotions, almost overwhelming her. So she was right. Drago did almost die. What would she have DONE...if he had? She only shakes her head, trying to get the thought out of her mind.

winterfalcon
A sardonic smile twitches on his muzzle. "I was too stubborn to die out there," He reassures her. "But I did lose some fat for awhile, and I got pretty hungry. It was a good swift kick in the head for being so dumb. Then I got set upon by some wolves ... nasty vermin. And the old feli saved me. He was a helluvafighter, I'll give him that. Anyways, we ended up traveling together for awhile, and he shared some of his food with me an' helped me learn how to survive in the wilderness. I certainly ain't the best, yet ... but a six-day hike won't go wrong, now that I know more about out there."

Saii
April only listens quietly while packing the last of the food into the bag. Wow. Sure sounded like he had fun... "Well, I'm glad you didn't die. =0= I'd probably go and maul the next feli that touched me, then go run off a cliff." She wasn't facing him when she said this, for she was hiding her blush and a bit stubborn look on her face. "6 days? I thought you said it was only a 3 day...hike...or flight..."

winterfalcon
He gazes at her, gaze lingering for a moment as he watches her quietly. He feels absurdly proud to know that she was worried about him during that time. At the querry, he grins slightly. "It's three days there, three days back. Possibly one day for exploring, if you want to hang around there." His eyes twinkle mischieviously.

Saii
If Drago knew how much she worried...he'd feel bad. :O And exploring? Grinning to herself, she turns around, excitement once again evident. "What's there to explore?" April asks, a bit slyly, trying to squeak some, any information about the place out of Drago. Curiosity was a killer, since April had been quite anxious to know what he had found. "Are we done here? Can we go?" She gently paws at the bag, as if trying to figure out how to put it on, but looking to Drago first, seeing what he did.

winterfalcon
DragonStar eyes her levelly, grunting as he hoists the now-full haversack onto his back. It's clear he's gone 'deaf' again, as he always does when he doesn't want to answer a question. Instead, he picks up the other pack in his teeth, and speaks through the straps, surprisingly clearly. "M'kay, putcher limbs through the two holes there, 'twill hold it on." He made this pack lighter than his own ... he has a feeling that April probably isn't going to be going too far with a heavy pack, not being accustomed to travel. Neither, really, is he; he's going to have to get back into his stride again, so they'll take is slow.

Saii
April only narrows her eyes at him, and pouts, but doesn't push the issue. She never did... afterall, she was going to find out...in 3 days. Oye. It seemed so long! Following his instructions, April puts it on, amused by the designing of it. Whoever had made this...was either a genius, or a very bored person. Adjusting, she gets used to the weigh, while stretching her wings, ready to fly. "Are we gonna go?" :3

winterfalcon
He just grins, quite dashingly, at her. X3 He finds her so amusing when she's irate at him for keeping a secret. He lightly lets it go, ears twitching. "Yup. C'mon, let's get outside ... we c'n fly for a bit, but you'd be surprised at how heavy these things can get. As soon as we start flagging, we'll go land and start walking for a bit. Oh, and another thing -- I go first, an' you'll go last. It was a point of honor with the old guy I met," he says, apologetically. "Females, he said, c'n see danger from behind more, and males are more quick at seeing danger from up ahead." That said, he trots out of the kitchen and moves into the entryway, disappearing into the feli flap and outside.

Saii
She only blushes as he grins. Gawd, did he not KNOW the effects he would have on female felis if he smiled like that all the time? April doensn't really mind the first and last thing... after all, Drago knew where he was going. It was only sensible for him to go first... but she didn't quite understand...the whole danger thing. Quickly, April follows him, not before waving and giving Emma a smile as she heads out the feli flap.
A somewhat chilly breeze immediately meets her, and she shivers, following Drago. It was going to be winter soon... which meant... SNOW! biggrin

winterfalcon
He sniffs the air curiously as he gets outside. Geez, if it's cold ... "I dunno, d'you think we should pack a few blankets, too? Night's might get pretty chilly, 'n I don't want to be half-frozen every morning -- what d'you think, April?" He querries, head tipping to the side as he turns towards her.

Saii
Curling up next to each other, snuggled with a blanket..yep, Drago, that sounds good. A little voice pops into her head, causing her to blush again. Sheesh, it was like...the whole process backwards. It was usually the blushing and butterflies first, then falling in love. Not exactly the other way around. But April doesn't say that...and only nods vigorously, turning around and enters the house again, in search of a blanket.
It didn't take too long, for after a few minutes, she comes out holding a large blanket that was folded up. April tilts her head, questioning where she should put it.

winterfalcon
His look is bemused and sly, but he doesn't comment on the blush, and watches as she disappears indoors.

His gaze shifts out towards the scrubland to the south, and the forest to the north and west. The breeze lifts up his fur. He feels rather free at the moment -- free of obligation and need and want. Adventure awaits -- organized adventure, not some random half-thought plan that tends to get them into trouble. The granite-and-diamond feli stretches his limbs, giving his fairy-like wings several cursory flaps. Yes, it was good to be out again.

As April returns, he bobs his head approvingly at her. "Here -- I think I might be able to fit it in my pack."

Saii
Setting the blanket down, so she could speak clearly, April glances behind her, at her bag, then at his. Somehow...his looked bigger. >.>; "I could carry it. I think I have more room..." To prove her point, she jiggles the bag, listening to the items shifting around in it. But she leaves the decision for Drago. "By the way, is your shoulder okay to fly with? =/ I don't want you to like...collapse half way and leave us stuck in the forest." She says this in a jokingly manner, but inside, April really was worried.

winterfalcon
"If you're sure," He quips, bobbing his head. "'n my shoulder'll be fine, it's healing nicely. Don't get so worried ... it's not like we're gonna be out doing a race, y'know." A wry, sardonic grin. "We're gonna take it nice 'n slow, and easy. This is supposed to be a vacation, remember, too. You ready?"

Saii
Stuffing the last of the blanket into her bag, she nods, grinning. April felt excited...which was a given, yet a little bit nervous. What...if something were to happen? But she shakes that thought out, isntead, taking in the fact that... they were going on a "vacation"! She's never been on a vacation before! Or honeymoon... The same voice pops into her head again as April blushes, a bit annoyed this time, and shakes that out too. BAD THOUGHTS!

winterfalcon
((LOL. Feli honeymoon! XD))

"'Kay, then," He says, then languidly takes off into the cool evening air. The sun's already started to go down -- they'll get a few good hours of light left, and then night will come. Fortunately, Drago' ... glitters. It'd be hard to lose him, really. The fairy feli soars up on one air curent, then down on another, chortling, and heads towards the forest, in a south-western direction.

O0O whoot! Day 1 is for next tiiime!

Day 1

Saii
It was strange, waking up in the middle of a forest. Your alarm clock were birds chirping...and it wasn't the warm, comfortable place by the fire that kept you from the chills of the morning. Such was this, when April wakes up from her slumber. She doesn't move from her spot, curled next to Dragonstar, though. Blinking contently, April listens to the environment, her mate's heartbeat and breathing. Her tail flicks a little, from it's place underneath the heavy blanket. Travelling through the forest wasn't that bad...just something to get used to... her mind wanders as she shifts a bit to snuggle against Drago's body warmth.

winterfalcon
Even DragonStar's wings hurt a bit after last night's traveling ... and they honestly didn't go that far. After it got too dark to really see, they set down in a tiny clearing, to curl up next to one another with the blanket, their body heat protection against the oncoming coolness of the night. Preoccupied with making certain they were going in the right direction, Drago had not talked much on the trip; but he seemed in a better mood than usual, almost cheerful. When April stirs, her heartbeat quickening to awakeness, Drago's eyes pop open, and his head raises, eyelids shutting in a few blinks. A lazy yawn is given, and he offers her a rough purr of greeting, not really wanting to move from this spot. Nice and warm. "G'morning."

Saii
April nearly jumps in surprise, she was too busy being lost in her head than to notice his awakening. Recovering quickly, she gives him a small lick in return, not really moving from her place either. "'Morning." Then a comfortable silence took place, contently next to each other. April spoke first. " Breakfast?" Her stomach seems to agree, for it growls a bit after she spoke that word. Blushing a little in embarassment, she turns her head away from his, looking out into the trees.

winterfalcon
That slightly sardonic grin that DragonStar seems to be able to do so well comes out upon his features. "Your stomach is most eloquant," He laughs, amused. "Breakfast," He agrees, reluctantly getting up onto all fours and leaving her side and warmth. He moves stiffly over towardsone of the haversacks, rummaging around until he finds some strips of biltong and a can of peaches. "It'd be nice if one of us was a fire feli," he says, ruefully. "We might be able to have hot chocolate with breakfast. But it can't be helped. " He skillfully makes an opening in the top of a can with one of his claws, then grabs one of the canteens in his teeth. "I'm gonna go find some water," he says, thickly, through the mouthful. "There's some containers in one of the sacks, you c'n set up dish out breakfast ... I might be able to find some other things, t'woods around here hasn't been covered in frost yet, there may well be some berries around, or tubers."

Saii
She only blushes harder, and playfully smacks his side with her paw. April only watches Drago bring out the food, before moving to help. "You're going?" Her head snaps up when he mentions about going to find some water. Of course, worries begin to fill her head, but she hides it well, replying, "Well, don't be gone for too long...kay?" April's head turns, looking for something to place the food on.

winterfalcon

"Yeah, so try not to gobble down all the food before I get back," He replies, brushing aside her worries like he would a mere fly. "I'll shout if I run into trouble." With that, the diamond-and-granite feli jogs off, canteen between his teeth, and disappears into the bushes without another word.

Saii

Nodding a bit nervously, April watches him disappear into the trees, before looking around again. Spying a plant with some rather large leaves, April quickly walks over, breaking two off and trotting back to her original spot. Using the spare time on her paws, she takes the opportunity to set up their breakfast, mainly to keep her mind off of the many worries that would be going on through her head. Afterall...she was alone right now... in the middle of a forest. A scary forest. Where wild bears and wolves roamed... tons of other creatures...
Oye.

winterfalcon
DragonStar trots confidently through the undergrowth, ears twitched, listening for any sound of water. And he soon finds one; a slight trickle, nearby. He starts heading for it, after getting a better grip on the canteen. Mm ... water. After about a ten-minute walk, he comes to a tiny little streambed. Liquid trickles over rocks in the middle of the forest, cheerfully bubbling. The male dips his head to drink deeply ... the water is extremely cold, and makes him gasp a bit as he raises his head again. But his tail twitches, decisively, and he soon fills up the canteen full of the cold, clear stuff.

Saii

After rearranging the food serveral times, April could only sit, and twitch her tail nervously. Her ears were ready, listening for Drago or anything else. A twig snaps, and her head whirls towards the sound of it, eyes wide and searching into the woods. After a few minutes, she looks around nervously again for any signs of Drago. Mreee... she definately did not like being alone in a forest.

winterfalcon
Hoisting the canteen over his shoulder, Drago jogs back through. He almost loses his way, but manages to find his own set of muddy footprints, and finds his way back to camp with relative ease. About twenty minutes after he left, he's emerging from the foilage, languidly making his way over to April. "Plenty of water hereabouts, I'm starving. Didn't seen anythin' else to eat, we'll have to make due with our rations for the moment."

Saii
Her ears pick up footsteps nearing her, and she tenses, eyes wide. But it was only Drago. For the state in which she was in, April could have nearly tackled him, spilling the water and making him go back to refill it...so she restrains herself. Letting out a sigh of relief, she grins, the atmosphere lightening again. Not saying anything, April makes her way to the untouched food, and begins to eat.

winterfalcon

She's awful quiet today ... in fact, he's probably said more words than she has today, which is very ... rare. She must not be too comfortable here yet. DragonStar puzzles over this in silence, carefully taking the canteen in his teeth and pouring some out in two dixies -- small bowls -- before setting the remains aside. He meanders causually over to his own meal, and starts to eat, happily gnawing at the biltong, which he's aquired quite a taste for. It's a type of dried meat; almost a like beef jerky, really. The peaches, too, are wonderfully good.

Saii
She finishes her portion rather quickly, and only blinks contently into the woods. Although her wings were rather sore from yesterday's flight, April was itching to find out what Drago had found. It was pointless to ask him again, afterall, he seemed quite determined not to spoil some surprise. Thinking back, she remembers how he wanted to find some cave...or someplace to live other than the feli house. Perhaps he had found such a place. But what? April muses into her head, pondering about what Drago could have found.

winterfalcon
"We should probably get going, while we have daylight," He says, lightly, as he finishes, licking a bit of peach off of his nose. He decides not to tell her that they'll probably be even more sore tomorrow morning than she was this morning. Instead, he stretches his wings, and packs up. "Be sure to take a good drink before we leave ... we probably won't rest until we midday, then we can walk for a bit, then fly again until we find a campsite for the night."

Lifting herself from her position, she licks what might be left behind from her breakfast and takes a drink from her canteen. April would fill it up on the way. Listening to Drago, she couldn't help but think...sheesh, it was far. He must've been quite bored to wander that far. Shrugging that thought aside, she stretches her sore wings and her legs, preparing herself for the flight. Grinning micheviously, she glances up at the sky before asking Drago a question that would probably haunt him for a while.
"Are we almost there yet?"
April knows, however, that it would be a while before they would reach the place...meh.
PostPosted: Tue Oct 12, 2004 7:29 pm

The male glares daggers at her which would probably have cowed anyone else -- but she probably knows him too well to be too bothered by it. Instead, he grunts, shaking his head. "Enjoy the scenery and relax once, hon." He stretches, yawns, then grabs his pack and settles it over his shoulders once again, wings outspread to their fullest.

He launches into the air after a few careful strides, taking a deep breath as he finds an updraft, smiling slightly. It's so peaceful out here -- and he doesn't have to *deal* with anyone else. "C'mon, lazyguts. We should be flying over the marshlands today. Hopefully we can find a good place tostop, 'tis usually pretty wet there." He banks off sharply to the southwest, flapping his wings and soaring above the treeline.

Trying to contain her laughter, April puts on her own bag, stretching her wings one last time and chortling the last of her giggles before soaring after Drago. She keeps up with him easily, but keeps herself relaxed, knowing that it would be sore later on. Although fairy felis were known to be better fliers than most felis... flying for several hours could stretch your limits. April's expression wrinkles a bit... wet? Wet meant water. And water was not her thing. But she'll worry about it when they got there... right now was very relaxing. "I'm not lazy! You're probably more lazy than I am!" April replies, nipping his ear playfully before letting the wind lift her higher, skimming along the bottom of the clouds.
PostPosted: Tue Oct 12, 2004 8:10 pm

He mockingly growls at her, darting towards her with a surprising show of acrobatics, while complaining loudly, "And here *I* am, leadin' an adventure where we're actually gettin' some physical exercise, and you're calling *me* lazy!" But the grumble is only half-hearted, and he flicks his tail cheerfully as he continues onwards.

His gaze suddenly snags upon something nearby, and he glances up sharply to investigate. Dark gray, off-white clouds are rolling in from the direct west, ominous, yet not close enough to be of any immediate thread. He pauses, ignoring April for a moment. "Looks like we might get a storm later tonight, too. We should try to get as far as we can today ... but I doubt we'll reach the other end of the marshland by then."

Even as he speaks, the forest thins out beneath them, giving way to a breadth of marshy lands that stretch across the earth. Little mires and crags of water gather together in the ground. The place is lush -- overly lush -- with vegetation.

"You started it. " She sticks out her tongue at him, giggling in the process. Glancing down, she also notices the change of scenery, as well as the truth to Drago's words. Storm? Oh GAH her now! April hated storms...almost as much as she hated water. Uncertainty and fear clouds her expression, as she flies after him, keeping an eye at the dark clouds...that would probably hit tonight or so.
It was amazing how far Drago had travelled. And for what? April didn't know! Rawr him!
After a few minutes or so, she grows bored of watching the somewhat unchanging scenery. "Are we theeeree yeeet?" Before bursting into giggles.
PostPosted: Tue Oct 12, 2004 8:30 pm

He does a sudden loop around her at the last question. "You say that again, girl, and you get no rations tonight!" He threatens, making a face. "Be patient an' enjoy the view, for once. Life's way too short, April!" And with that, he puts on a sudden burst of speed, zooming off at a very quick pace through the marshland skies, fairy wings flittering swiftly.

Immediately, she is startled, all playfulness lost. -0- Now she knew never to push him that far...but Rawr! She was only playing! Nevertheless, April remains silent, somewhat hurt. She was never used to such...harsh tones spoken to her, but then again, it was Drago she was with.
In the midst of her head, April notices that Drago was far ahead of her. Relaxing herself as much as possible, she speeds ahead, catching up with him with some difficulty. Her wings would ache tonight.

He didn't really mean it -- but it's difficult to tell when he's teasing or not oftentimes. His burnished brown and off-white form flickers in odd swoops and deft dips, finding and sidling on air currents expertly. He's become quite a flyer; even when he was first beginning, he didn't seem to take long to learn it. It was almost instictive with him, as if he had done it before, somehow, and was merely relearning what he already knew. His coat sparkles in the hazy light offered by the cloud-covered sun above. He doesn't speak to April as she catches up; just continues onwards, content with the company, but not, seemingly, in much of a talkative mood.

April only eyes him warily, wondering if she really did upset him. Mree! >_< But she didn't mean it! She keeps her mouth shut, however, going back into her quiet mood. Keeping an eye on the clouds, she follows Drago, enjoying the breeze on her face.
Her mind goes off, wondering how Yumi and the others were doing. How long has it been? A day... and a half, almost. So far, there were no obstacles... just smooth travelling. April could only hope it would stay this way...
PostPosted: Sun Oct 17, 2004 7:38 pm

They travel for hours; the sun starts rising high into the sky, muddied by clouds and the overcast air. Finally, Drago's wingbeats weary and sluggish, the male feli swirls down quietly towards the ground. "We'll rest here for awhile," he calls back, gliding gently down towards a small hillock in the middle of the marshy wetlands. Here, the ground is solid; but mere feet away, it becomes squishy and uneven again. He curves his aching wings back against his sides, and settles down onto the ground, yawning desperately. Mmmff. Maybe he should have a nap before they go on; his whole body is begging for a rest.

Due to the lack of conversation, April nearly flies off without him, lost in her own little world. Blinking, she notices that he had landed... so she following suit, April nearly crashes onto the ground. Her muscles were practically screaming from the hours of traveling. Glancing towards Drago once, and at the squish ground a little ways off, her eyes begin to droop, and April doesn't bother to ignore her instincts. Curling up, she is soon fast asleep, against Drago.
PostPosted: Thu Oct 21, 2004 8:42 pm

"Alright, April, we'll just -- " But that's as far as he gets, because when he looks back, the pink-and-white female is curled up against his side, already fast asleep. Well. o.o; He was only going to suggest that they rest for an hour or so -- it is only midday, after all -- but it looks like April's little body is all tuckered out. His is, too, come to think of it. He yawns, snapping irritably at a marsh bug, before curling up against her, shrugging the haversack to the ground. "Just ... fer a bit ... " he murmurs to himself, before dozing off.

Neither, however, notice the countless little eyes that peer from the shadowed areas of the marsh all around them. Like little light-bulbs they are, pale yellow in coloration.

Several blink, disappearing into the blackness.

(( ZOOM ZOOM speed of light!
2 hours has passed XD Unknown to teh two sleeping felis...O0O ))

April wakes up suddenly, eyes blinking before it settled back to a dull, sleepy expression. Looking next to her, she watches Drago sleep for a few moments before turning her head to observe the environment. This place...STUNK. April wrinkles her nose a bit, unfamiliar with the marshland smells. How long has it been? Her caretaker had this...thing... some gizmo that told you what time it was. Hrm.

Stretching a few muscles and her wings, April nudges Drago, grinning. "Jeez Drago, you sleep too much."
