"I'm absolutely thrilled," Was Rapiers dry reply to the mans congratulations, hand dipping to pet at Cleos dark hair affectionately. "You don't like these frilly, frou-frou places either?"
"Foo foo." Cleo agreed cheerfully, giving Vimber a soft scritch once more before waddling to that frilly dress Earako had pointed out. "Eee-yako? Dess! Pwetty, yea?"

"Heh. I come for the Batling. She likes this s**t, and she needed to get out of the sun." With simular affection, he gently squeezed the pale girl's shoulder, a quiet show of affection. Nevermind how Earako had been thrust upon him, she was his daughter now. He'd kill for her with a smile. "It makes her sick."
"Da'!" Earako's voice was firm, a forceful correction of the man's language. "You're in front of a kid."
Satisfied despite the fact that he was rolling his eyes, she turned her attention back to Cleo. "Very pretty. It's made out of satin, I think. And lace of course. Too small for you, but..." She bit her lip, considering the garment in question, "I might be able to make something like it. Would you like that?"
The dragon was apparently tired of human company. She let her head rest against her legs, barely looking up, even for her Special's sake. It was too bright, too active. She wanted her cave, or at the very least, to sleep.

"The color compliments her." Rapier agreed lightly. Sure, she looked snarly but the guy was being cordial, and so would she. "It's okay, Earako - Cleo hears worst things all the time and has yet to pick anything up."
At least, she didn't think Cleo had. The girl had been all bright and light and sunshine when it came to life in general and didn't appear to say any of the words she and Jem uttered on a rather regular basis.
She also didn't mind being called a 'kid'.
Cleo beamed over at the pretty bat girl, blinking a little bit at the question. Was she asking to buy the..? No. She was asking to MAKE it. Cleo knew what making stuff was! You took a bunch of things and MADE them into something new and nice!
"P'ease?" The goldcrest chirruped, one hand moving to pet at Earakos dress. "Pwetty dess, yeah? Maykee?"

"Earako's obsessed with being 'good'." Michael admitted, releasing his grip on his daughter and shaking his head. "I dunno how it happened. Guess it's the bat in her or something."
Earako, very much not a fan of being discussed as if she wasn't standing right there, flipped her hair and glared upward. "Dad," She hissed, that last D speaking her displeasure louder than her frown.
Turning back to Cleo, she transitioned into smiling easily at the child with remarkable ease. What adults did concerned her, but was still outside her normal sphere. It was easy to place her feelings toward her Da' at the moment away from her amusement and interest in the bird girl.
"Don't listen to them. It's good to be a lady. And you'll make a beautiful one." She instructed, reaching out to gently touch the younger girl's hair. "And I'd love to make you a pretty yellow dress like that one."

"Maybe it skips an emotional generation? No offense to you but Cleo's the same way - I'm snarly and have few morals and she's absolutely adorable and upstanding citizin."
The woman grinned a little towards Micheal before her eyes flickered towards the two gossiping girl, one finger moving to tap her nose in contemplation. "How many animal characteristics does Earako have...? I mean.. Cleos very picky about her food, sleeps a certian way... it's kindof odd."
"Ignowh." Cleo agreed with the little girl, bouncing on the balls of her heels, beaming at the touch. She LIKED touches. Rapier did it only when she had to and Jem was always distracted. "Yay! T'd be p'etty! May-bye Eeako!"

"Animal traits? Well, there's the sun thing. We're still not sure how much of that is her being albino and how much is her being a bat." He shrugged a bit, studying his daughter with a smile. "When I got her home, she slept upsidedown, but that stopped a long time ago. She does tend to be more alert at night."
"She eats her meat as raw as she can get it, but blood isn't a hunger I particularly encourage in her." A glance at his watch, and he sighed. They'd already spent more time in the store than he'd intended, and his daughter hadn't even found anything she wanted. Well, that was the cost of her being social. She'd have to learn that. "And we've got to run."
"But Da'..." Earako objected, peering up at the man through dark sunglasses and pouting.
"Sorry, batling."
Reaching over to squeeze Cleo's smaller hand, Earako forced a smile. "I'll make you that dress. And see you at D-corp."

"I wonder..." She tapered off a little at his telling his daughter it was time for them to go. Rapier grinned, almost in relief, and she made a faint move towards her daughter. "You too, Cleo. It's time for your nap."
The goldcrest made a soft noise at her mothers words, lower lip poking out into a firm pout. She squeezed back though, hesitating for a moment before 'glomping' onto the girl as she'd seen happen in her house many times before.
"T'ank you~" The child squeaked out before scrambling back to her mother, grabbing at her wrist as well. Rapier cast Micheal a grin and Earako a little wave before they ducked out of the building.
