Etain floundered about awkwardly, trying to duck out of the way of the mud0grinding fingers of doooom. He didn't do too well, unfortunately, and his pale colored hair was turning an increasingly deep shade of mud brown. Screeching, though not entirely out of either annoyance or agitation - this was, even if the girl maybe threw the mud a little hard, not entirely lacking in fun. If nothing else, revenge was sweet; a point he tried hard to get to by stooping down and slinging an armful of the gunk up at Altessa before hurridly slip-sliding his way a few feet away so she couldn't immediately do the same right back at him.
With a frenzied, desperate sort of movement, Etain began grabbing handfuls of mud in preparation for the next attack.

He would soon find that Altessa would be nowhere in sight.
However, if he looked, he would see a pair of eyes staring at him from the mud, if he stared hard enough. She was hoping that the other would get close enough to the puddle, close enough to scare...

Armed and ready for a second assault, Etain shot a glance quickly over his shoulder back to where the girl was--
Or, er, had been. Blinking, the little boy let his hands fall away from the mud and he turned in a slow circle. What the heck? Had she run away? Witlessly, Etain lifted one of his muddy hands to scratch the back of his head. Fortunately, his hair was already grimy to the point where a little more mud didn't make a significant difference in his appeared.
"Where'd she go?" he asked, to no one in particular. Maybe...maybe she was invisible! "It's cheating if you're invisible!" he piped out. Just in case.

She resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Just what kind of moron was this? Nonetheless, she remained very still, her instincts telling her to wait until just the right moment.
