I saw the video for 'B.Y.O.B.' and 'Question!' and i loved them. and plus my older sis always listens to them.

Well, I think the first song I ever heard by them was Chop Suey!, thanks to someone I met on the first day of school in grade 7. So I think that's the song that got me intrested. But back then, I wasn't really able to hold onto a certai band for long, and soon forgot about them. Then in grade 9, 2 years ago, I met someone and he was listening to them, and I was like "Hey, I remember that song!" and I started listening to them again, this time holding on.

 Well, at first I wasn't attracted to it.
My good friend (who left to Florida... b*****d. D: ) sent me BYOB (I know, I'm ashamed of it.)
As soon as the first scream went, I couldn't stop laughing.
At all.
Plus, I was hyper on jumbo Pocky.
After a while, I sorta warmed up to it, and I recieved more songs.
Then I started to like them.

I heard them from my friend around 2002 - and I got toxicity for Christmas.
And I've loved them ever since ^^ I wasn't always into that music - i was a punk/rocker/indie/thing but after SOAD, I listened to Korn, Slipknot and other bands.
But they never were anywhere near as good.

wellllll one fine morning i was watching music videos and i saw the video for byob (i kno this isnt the way to find out about a band like this but heyyy) and i thought it was a great song, so i looked into system of a down and at that time i didnt realize they sung sugar, chop suey!, aerials, and toxicity...and i liked those songs a lot! so thennn i bought the cds and got them copied (whatever) and now im just some completely obsessed fan lol then finally i went and bought the real versions of the first three and all the system songs are on my ipod lol its great! but then after i started listening to them, i really really really fell in love with serj's voice...haha now i got a bunch of people to like them (especially my bff, never thought id see the day when she would like them) so i couldnt be happier!!!

What attracted me to them, is they were the only original band that i haven't heard of...
The way the songs were written and the way the music harmonizes with the instruments is also another reason.

i was attracted to them when i saw serj and daron doin the chop suey video. then i was a soad fan ever since.

I like the fact that they sing about several different things, in several different styles and they dont sound weird at all when you have a song like Spiders transition into Deer Dance.
