And the Journey Begins...

Quote:
Genevieve stepped into the clinic, hands clasped behind her back and head held high. She scanned the waiting area with her wide eyes for any signs of whom she should speak to. Though she appeared to be perfectly confident from her stance to her facial expression, her eyes betrayed her real feelings. The woman was terrified. this whole place simply sent chills down her spine. Why? Honestly, she wasn't sure. Just get through this today, and you'll be alright. she reminded herself, and took in a steadying sigh. Yes. She was ready. She walked to the front desk and lightly cleared her throat, awaiting acknowledgement.

Quote:
A male with orange hair and a violet section of bangs looks up. looks up from a computer behind the desk and smiles. He stands and walks over to the front of the desk, "Hello. How can I help you?" His labcaot had the name Izzi stitched into it, just like everyone elses, though the names different of course. This was the easiest way the parents and such could tell who they were.

Quote:
Genevieve nodded to the male, whom she presumed was named Izzi, with a small smile on her face. While she normally might be quite outgoing, this visit had caused her to be a little shy in her words and actions. "Hello, my name is Genevieve Aranel, and I'm here for my...appointment." she said softly, her hands deattaching and one lifting to rub lightly behind her neck in an almost sheepish manner. "I believe I'm a little early, so I can wait if I need to..."

Quote:
Izzi looks down at the main computer on the main desk and types in something, brining up her file. "Your right on time Miss Genevieve. If you'll follow me please." he picks up a clipboard and walks around the desk, starting to head down the hallway to the right. He pauses to make sure she was following, his tail twitching slightly.

Quote:
Genevieve nodded, following behind him. It wasn't long before she began scanning this wall and that as they passed them, looking for anything to distract her from what was coming ahead. If she was honest with herself, she'd admit that she was terrified. Why was she terrified? It doesn't matter, because I'm not scared. she quickly thought. When the walls grew boring to her, she looked forward at Izzi and paused when she saw his tail. I wonder what he is...

Quote:
Izzi smiles and stands next to an open office. "If you'll step inside and hop up on the bed please." he nods, ears twitching also. He noticed she looked a bit nervous, if not scared. He was leading her into his own office in hopes to offer some calming tea or something of the sorts. Plus all the doctors personal offices were far more calming in general.

Quote:
Genevieve acquiesed with a few quick nods, stepping into the room and looking around that now. After taking a moment to analyze a few things around the room, she stopped beside the bed. Oh, how she hated getting up on these things. She was a very petite woman, something she wasn't entirely thrilled with when things like this came about. She put her arms on the edge, mouthed the words "one, two, three" and hopped up onto the bed. A single deep sigh later, she glanced up at him and awaited further instruction.

Quote:
Izzi shuts the door and walks over to his desk, glancing at her with a soft smile, "Care for anything to drink miss?" he asks polietly while setting up his clipboard.

Quote:
Genevieve tucked a strand of hair behind one of her ears, moving her eyes to stare down at the floor in silence for a few moments. What's wrong with you? Why are you being so cowardly? she thought to herself. Instantly her shoulders were back, her spine straight as a line, and her eyes on Izzi. While her face was calm, her eyes were still a bit wary. "Tea, if you have any." she said with a small nod to punctuate her statement.

Quote:
"I do." he pulls down a cup and fills it with warm water thanks to his magic, then sets the teabag inside the cup, stiring it with a spoon for a moment. He walks over to Genevieve and hands here the cup, the teabag gone now. "Careful, it may be a bit hot still."

Quote:
Genevieve inclined her head to Izzi in gratitude as she took the cup carefully and lightly blew across the surface of the liquid inside. When she was satisfied that it would be a bit cooler, she took a long sip of it, allowing the delicious liquid to melt away her apprehension. She swallowed and sighed softly, holding the cup around chest level. "So...what's first?" she asked, chin jutting into the air once again.

Quote:
Izzi smiles softly, "Just a normal check up on you first. Then I'll need a blood draw for further inspections." he nods, picking up his stethascope.

Quote:
Genevieve nodded in silence, taking one last drink of the tea before setting it down beside her. I swear, Wes, I'm going to kill you if it's true. she thought to herself, one of her hands covertly curling into a fist. She looked from the cup of tea to Izzi. I might as well go ahead and get this over with. It's the best thing to do. she decided. After all, she'd go insane if she didn't know for sure.

Quote:
Izzi smiles, stepping foreward to go through normal procedures. "Well, your healthy as far as I can tell. The blood draw will tell me whatever else I need to know." he nods and starts setting up for just that, "Arm please."

Quote:
Genevieve drew in a deep breath through her nose almost inaudibly before she offered her arm to him. She hated needles. Hated them. It went back to this whole deep-seeded fear that related to her past that everyone never was going to know about because they didn't need to know. A rather long explanation, that was. she thought to herself. Honestly, 'twas not any of their business, and she planned to keep it that way. "It won't hurt too much, will it?" she asked tentatively.

Quote:
"Course not." he smiles and takes the blood, a moment later taking the needle out. He always magicly tainted the needles he used just for blood draws. The needle urged the blood to come out quicker, though without making the owner of the blood dizzy. He cleans up, shaking the little bottle as he did. "Alright. Come back in about an hour and I'll you're results done. Ok?"

Quote:
Genevieve had watched the needle with her wide eyes, biting her bottom lip, and winced just before it punctured her skin. Of course, it wasn't the pain that really made her frightened. It was something more, that the needle might be somehow transferring something instead into her bloodstream. That the person drawing her blood might find out the secrets she sought to keep quiet. When the needle was pulled out and she heard his words, she simply nodded. "An hour, then." And, with that, she slipped off of the bed and left the room. Perhaps eating something would make her feel a little bit better.
Around an hour later, Gen was back in the hospital, nearly ready to twiddle her thumbs as she waited in the waiting room for Izzi to show up and tell her the results of the blood draw.

Quote:
Izzi had studied the blood curiously, finding out a little more what the female was, but seeing as she acted and seemed human, he decided to keep it quite. He'd known she was something different when he first met her, his magic giving him a hint. Now the blood was telling him two things; one was his magic was right that she was something different, and two that she was in fact pregnant. He chuckles to himself and heads down to the room, talking with Julian for a moment who was having a problem locating a certain file. He finally gets to the room, shutting the door. "Sorry it took a little longer." he smiles at her, tail twitching slightly. "Good news though, well, to some it is." he chuckles very softly, brushing his hair out of his eyes.

Quote:
As soon as the door shut, the psi-vampiress nearly leaped into the air in surprise. Yes, she was definitely a bit worried right now. What if he found out? But then again, perhaps he hadn't. Oh, you idiot, of course he found out. It's as bright as day in your blood, that you're carrying a virus like that. Genevieve merely blinked and tilted her head lightly to the right, though, and made herself smile softly. "And what is that?"

Quote:
Izzi chuckles softly, "Sorry I scared you." he walks up to the female, standing a few feet away, hands in his coat pockets. "You are, in fact, pregnant. It was hard to tell, since your at the very beggining."

Quote:
Genevieve stared at Izzi for a few moments in absolute silence before she released a long sigh and dropped her eyes to the ground. "I figured." she muttered, lifting a hand to lightly toy with a lock of her hair. This was fabulous, wasn't it? She was sarcastic even in her mind as she resisted the urge to start pulling her hair out in a bit of anger. So THIS is what happens when you don't feed for three days. she thought. The way that this had come about was still very clear in her mind, though she had tried to shove it away many times. The young woman lightly nibbled on her bottom lip for a few moments before she glanced up at Izzi and realized that she might be neglecting him somewhat. "So...what now?" she asked. She would keep the baby, of course, no matter how much pain that it might cause her. In the end, she was somewhat sure that she would be pleased that she had done so. It was going to be a long nine months, and she wanted to be as prepared for it as she could be.

Quote:
"Well, you can do just about anything you please. If you don't wish to keep the child, I can take care of that easily. But if you do wish to keep it, you can come to us if you have any questions or need help. We'll be like a family, doing our best to help you in any way possible." he smiles.

Quote:
Genevieve, without even thinking, blurted out, "I want to keep it." She paused for a moment and drew in a small breath, trying to calm her swiftly beating heart. She knew that she had nowhere else to go in reality. No family. Few friends who would be willing to stick by her. Yes, let's just be emo, Gen. she thought to herself sarcastically. "I...when should I come back for a check-up?" she asked, not knowing any other question to ask at the moment. She knew that they would come in time, and she could ask when she returned.

Quote:
"Very well. You'll need to come back in a few months." he smiles and pulls a small card from the desk, walking over and handing it to her, "If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at any of these two numbers. Ok?" he pats her on the shoulder gently, "I know this may sound weird, but I'm a mother of two. So if you ever just need someone to talk to, I'll be there." he nods, a soft and warming smile on his face.

Quote:
Weird? It was one of the oddest things that Gen had ever heard! She lightly arched one of her thin eyebrows as she looked up at Izzi, her rather confused gaze on him for only a moment before she looked back down at the card. "Alright. I'll let you know if I need anything or have a question." she said as she came to her feet and tucked it into one of her pockets. "I'll see you in a few months, then." she stated as she looked at him again with a small smile, partially forced. She offered him a hand to shake in goodbye.

Quote:
The feline chuckles, shaking her hand. "Thank you for coming here. Till next time Miss Genevieve." He was used to getting that sort of expression from others. He, along with any other creature from the place he was from, were all like that. Able to have children even though they were male. Even the kids were male.

Quote:
After she had shaken his hand, Genevieve nodded to him. "Thank you for having me, Mister Izzi." she said, her smile no longer forced. She released his hand and dropped her own to her side, turning and leaving the clinic. Perhaps it wouldn't be as tough as she had envisioned it to be.

Quote:
Izzi leans in the door way, a smile on his face still. "Your welcome." he calls back. God he loved this job so much.

But How Could This Be...?

I'm furious. No, I'm BEYOND furious. Because of a simple lapse of judgement on my part, I've found myself pregnant.

I should've known that this would happen. Honestly, I've seen it happen to the few others who have my virus, especially to those blood-sucking cousins of mine, but nooo-ooo...I put myself in a room alone with bloody Wesley when I knew that my inhibitions would be lowered.

It's my fault, of course. After all, I hadn't fed for a bit, thanks to my pledge not to feed off of a defenseless human. And when I don't feed, I'm instantly a bit more seductive.

But...couldn't Wes have tried to hold me off?

No, of course not. He's one of those blood vampires, after all. He wouldn't deny his urges, and he hadn't fed that day either. I'm just lucky he didn't try to feed off of me in the heat of...that.

I suppose that I need to run off and make up a new diet for me so that I don't hurt the baby inside me now. I know Wes won't have anything to do with...it. But I can't get rid of it. I already feel bonded to it. No, whatever it is...at least it'll have a good parent.

Maybe It's Not So Bad...

Ever since I last wrote in this journal, I've been experiencing a change of heart. I am actually relishing the thought of having a child. The thought of raising my own little girl or boy...of having a girl to dress up in ruffles, or a boy to love as my own...even if Wes has drifted out of my life like I knew he would, I would still love to raise this little baby.

I feel like I'm getting so fat, though. I know that is the absolute dumbest thing to complain about in a sentimental entry into my journal like this, but I feel so bloated. Heck, let's be honest, I resemble a hot air balloon right now. I can't wait until I have this child so I can be skinny again.

'Til another day...

Oh, Goddess, I'm HIDEOUS!

Oh, woe is me! I now resemble nothing less than an overly large watermelon. I spend most of my day filling my already huge stomach with ice cream and pickles and crying over the latest DVD that I have purchased. Which reminds me, I've been having the most awful cravings. Seriously, pickles and cookies and creme ice cream? Who would choose this sort of stuff?! Yes, I am officially the most hideous woman on the planet.

I ran into Wes the other day when I was in the supermarket. He seems quite reluctant to be around me, to even speak to me. I think he has decided that I'm going to drag him to my house and demand that he pay some sort of child support or something. Well, no matter. I can get along just fine without him. He'll see! Bloody fool. All males are bloody fools.

Oh, see? There I go again with these stupid mood swings! I'm even starting to tear up now. I can't stand this. That's it! I'm going to that check-up visit soon, and demanding that they tell me when this thing is going to get out of my uterus.

Check-up Visit
Genevieve arrived at the clinic for a check-up. An exam and a spell were performed, and everything was found to be proceeding nicely. She was advised that her baby could be due soon, and so long as her exercise and diet routine are maintained, there should be no complications.
