I'd like to point out that my GF isn't actually in band, but she spends a great deal of time in the Band Hall. Almost as much as I do, in fact... ninja I guess you'd call her a Band Groupie.

Almost as much as I do, in fact... ninja I guess you'd call her a Band Groupie. See that's a cool person. I wish everyone that's actually in my band would be proud to be a band nerd. We were deciding what our band shirts would look like and I was all for the big and loud, "WE'RE IN BAND AND PROUD OF IT!" look, but all the juinors in band council are all, "No, we're already dorks cause we're in band. Let's choose one that doesn't pronouce it." GRRRR!!!!! So now, the choices are all really lame. And that's the end of that story. xp

We only had 2 or 3 couples in band. Maybe my band was just the odd ball or something. . .

Mostly my band has "incest" relationships, cause as you all know the band is a "family". But all this means is that the long hours we all spend together means more than just practicing for the band. A couple of the people in our band are dating some "band groupies" but for the most part its just band kids. As far as i know and want to know its just the regular boyfriend/girlfriend relationships, nothing special. And thats about as far as it goes. Goodnight.

My friend apparently watched Mean Girls the other night, and she said during part of it they were going through the lunch tables and they got to one of the tables and were like, "There's the sexually active band nerds." We found it HILARIOUS, because as far as we know (and we know quite a bit, being friends with the biggest gossips in the band), there's not really a whole lot of dating going on in the band. I find it so funny that we get potrayed that way....

Errgh, I think this is on topic ... but anyway
What is with people and being COMPLETELY immature about instruments?! I was talking to a friend in my media class the other day about my Trombone, and how we might be able to use it in our project.
And another girl at our table was being so immature it wasn't funny!
I'm sick of comments like "*snicker* You play tromBONE!" and "I bet you're a good tromBONER!" (It's not Tromboner morons! It's Trombonist! Get it right!)
Don't even get me started on the comments about Band Camp and what the poor flute players have to endure. It really really bugs me.

About the "Boner" incident, thats what we call them and they call themselves in our school..., so it's all good, and the band here for some reason gets treated with the same ammount of respect as the football team does, but i think that's just because we won Group II championships... Flutes here don't get teased for some reason either, but the reason why with your school was all because of american pie.

As for that, I would argue that the clarinet is the most phallic (p***s-like) instrument of them all, and people seem to forget that because they never make fun of how skillfully we tongue... or uh... something like that.
I have no idea of the romantic goings-on in my band, so yeah. However, I have a silly little crush on the second clarinet boy, and let me tell you, I'd hit it heart

I find it so funny that we get potrayed that way.... Wow, I got a kick out of that. biggrin I seem to have this thing with trumpets. It's driving me insane. I went out with a trumpeter and now I like this other trumpeter (who is last chair, by the way...totally awesome possum, ain't he?). He reads in class and never practices. And he thinks that dating is pointless at this age. I really just want to strangle him and be all, "Hello! Come back to reality and PRACTICE!" Then I would pat him on the head and be all, "I love you." eek I have a weird mind, no? But a lot of my band friends have gone out with other band people. Well, actually...

Well, when i saw that movie, it was with alot of my friends (most of them in band) and 2 of them (a clarinet player and a baritone player) are going out.. when it came to that part, EVERYONE turned and looked at them, then laughed... because on trips and stuff, they sit together and they don't stop kissing... i swear, i look back to see who's sitting in my seat (i'll be sitting up front playing cards) and there they are, making out

One because my best friend who plays trombone put on the back of his band shirt "Tromboner". I mean, most of us as band geeks realize the jokes and embrace them. I mean heck, one of the banners for this guild is "Cause we dont find fingering dirty", or whatever it is. Also. I met my girlfriend at band camp the summer before my senior year (been together 1 and half years now). And she plays flute smile . And well.... she's fun wink . lol. It's all joking, but it's good fun. Embrace your sexual band nerd nature!~ Hehe, when anyone makes fun of me for going to band camp I'd always say. "But I play drums... I'd get slivers."

I had my flute case, and stupid guy asked me if that was a flute and i said yes... and he, being immature, asked if i ever did what the girl in the movie did... man i felt like punching him in the nose!! My friend though, named his trombone "Boner" as a joke
