Ruby snuggled closer, finding herself a bit drowsy, "then you prob'ly don't know me as well as you think you do, sug." She spoke quietly, closing her eyes with a soft yawn.

Ruby woke a while later, and glanced up surprised at where she was and with whom she was with. She couldn't tell if he slept because of the glasses, but she couldn't move the glasses because a single touch would probably startle him awake. So she settled to gently slipping away from his wing, and his arm. She paused to kiss her favorite feather, sneaking on tip toe as she tossed out the needle on the floor. She sighed, wondering what she was going to do now, Arch changed everything. She'd have to rewrite her whole plan.

"I've tried, Arch, I really have, it nearly killed me. I couldn't do it." She leaned back against him. "And the drugs aren't half of it. We're just as much tools to them as anybody else. And then there's Aaron." Thoughts of what she had planned for the party echoed in her mind, anything for Aaron. But could she really let herself do anything now? She hadn't even planned for an ending for herself. She'd forgotten the things she'd wanted, and it tore her up inside if she had to give it up again.

"I named him partly for you, you know? And part for Alloran," At the mention of Alloran her mind went to the charm bracelet that she had taken off and put in her pocket before her last hit. She never did the drugs and charm at the same time, they'd have been a violent and awful combination. "There's another thing, sug, when I'd get too down with thoughts on Aaron, and other things. I needed it to survive, it's a bracelet, but it does some strange stuff."

"Why do you keep sayin gettin him back? He's in his room with his Nanny, or at least he's supposed to be." Ruby's mind filled with situations and she started to panic, "You aren't tellin me he's been taken are you?"

((Which means I didn't explain that all too well sweatdrop ))

Ruby shook her head, "She's a Nanny, instructed to play his mother out in public, yes. I didn't want him to be responsible for some of the stuff I do, an I wanted him to have a normal childhood for at least a while." She gave a quiet sigh, "but she takes care of him here, just like she was his real mother, much better than I'd ever be able to do. I know it woulda been better, but I couldn't send him away, not him too."

Ruby pulled away, grabbing the anger charm out of habbit. As usual the surge of emotion was energizing, and renewing. "Do you have something to say!? Go ahead Arch, Say it." She switched to clair's australian accent, another habbit. "Or do you want me to apologize that I didn't have the gumption to send him off with his other parent and swallow a bullet like you?!"

Ruby's eyes widened as she realized what she'd said. "Arch ...I..."

As if deflecting the change in emotion, another surge of anger pulsed through her. Ruby's fist tightened, the sharp edges of the carved horn biting into her skin, enough to draw blood, which seeped between her fingers like little ruby raindrops. As it touched blood the black horn pulsed again, wether by memory of violence, or by connection to Ruby's power, the emotion raised three fold. "I think you're lying about why you left. If anything you wanted me to die. Boff people you said," Ruby laughed harshly, "funny how that's the thing that would lead to my death closer than anything else. 'sorry hon, love ya, have to run because I'm afraid you'll die, but have fun while I'm gone and be sure to play russian roulette.'" By this time her fist was nearly covered with dark blood. "wasn't I going to get to be a statue, a painting, a damned picture? but you didn't want anything of me, did you darlin. Nothin' to lock up in your big old house and forget, like all the rest." She reached for his shades with her ubloodied hand. "Did you leave them to die on their own too?"
